What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I've been roleplaying since I was roughly thirteen years old. I first started out roleplaying via forums across the web. I began playing playing Minecraft when it was in it's late infdev / early alpha stages, so when I found that servers entirely devoted to roleplaying were being created, I quickly joined in on the fun. I've been primarily roleplaying on Minecraft ever since, and have joined countless RP servers. However, despite knowing of LoTC since it was based in Aegis, I never made an application. Until now, of course.
How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: It's hard not to hear about it if you're in the Minecraft Roleplaying community.

Full Name: Dimaethor

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

      Dimaethor did not have a special childhood, nor an uncommon one, or even a particularly interesting one. He was born in Asulon, in Normandor, to a father that had taken up soldiery as a profession and a mother who helped run the library. They lived in relative ease together in a modest home. Dimaethor being an only child, all his father's and mother's parental attentions were spent on him. He learned to wield a blade at a young age thanks to his father. Over the years, he proved himself a more than capable swordsman. While he could not be considered a master under any standard, he was uncommonly competent with a sword. Dimaethor learned to read and write thanks to his mother. Because of her role in the library, Dimaethor never ran out of stories to read. He found an interest in Elven tales of yore, and knows many by heart.

     When Dimaethor was of age, he decided he wanted to see the rest of the Elven world. He set off on his own, with his parents consent, to visit the other Elven cities and territories. It was on this journey that he was exposed to the rest of the world. Though he never left Elven lands, he met Humans, Dwarfs, and even the beastly Orcs. He haggled with merchants, chatted with locals, trained and honed his blade on many occasions, and was witness to breathtaking sights. His journey lasted more than half a century, and was only cut short by the fall of Asulon. He sailed to Elysium and Kalos with other survivors, and eventually landed on the shores of Anthos. Dimaethor settled in Leumalin with the majority of his race. However, he has yet to find his parents, though he believes they still live.
Ambitions for the Future: After the fall of Asulon, and with influences from his father, Dimaethor wishes to become a Sentinel and help protect Malinor.
Personality: Though outwardly a calm, collected individual, Dimaethor can be ruthless and cold. He has a deep suspicion, though also curiosity, of other non-elven races. As he wishes to become a Sentinel, he is willing to sacrafice much for Malinor. Even so, he does not make any of his decisions in haste, is often very calculating.
Skills: Dimaethor is skilled with a sword and competent with most blades. He is a passing archer. He also possesses knowledge of many Elven tales, and despite his ruthless nature he is very loyal to those he deems worthy.

1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react?

Answer: I frown, wishing that I was a Sentintel so I could investigate further myself. As it stands, I approach the nearest Sentinel and inform them of what I witnessed, and continue on my way.

2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?

Answer: Knowing the duties of a Sentinel, despite not being one, I help the old man up onto his feet. I then collect the gold off the street and put it inside a spare coin pouch I have, and hand it to him.

3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved).

Answer: Having learned to haggle quite well on my journey, I barter with him for some food and supplies, as well as a new scabbard for my sword. Later, I chuckle to myself, thinking I got the best of him.

Answer:

Dimaethor frowns, stopping in his tracks. He recognizes the Elders to be mali'aheral; the child is mali'ker. This complicates things a bit. While the Elders were obviously flaunting their so-called "supremacy", undoubtedly insulting the child in the process, this behavior was not unheard of amongst the mali'aheral. In fact, it was even expected to an extent. However, that did not mean he had to condone their actions. With that thought prevalent in his mind, Dimaethor finds the nearest sentinel, inwardly wishing he was one himself so he could take care of the matter personally.

Dimaethor: Sentinel, there is a group of mali'aheral performing some...suspicious activities around that bend. I'd advise ensuring all is in order.

Sentinel: I see. Thank you for bringing this matter to me. I shall investigate immediately.

Dimaethor smiles in satisfaction, but does not stay to see the result of his handiwork. He doesn't want the mali'aheral to get any clues as to who spoiled their fun. Dimaethor continues, briskly, on his way.

Answer:

Dimaethor knows the duties of a Sentinel, despite not yet being one. Even so, he hesitates for a moment before deciding to help up the old human.

Old Man: Ah, thank ye young 'un.
Dimaethor: *blinks*
Old Man: *sees that Dimaethor is an Elf* Ah, well, eh...perhaps not so young as I thought. My apologies.
Dimaethor: *simply nods, giving the Old Man a brief appraisal before stooping down to collect the scattered coins. He puts the coins in a spare pouch he has, then hands it to the Old Man.*
Old Man: Please, keep this as a sign of gratitude. *hands Dimaethor a few coins, of which he accepts.*
Dimaethor: Thank you.

Dimaethor watches the Old Man shamble away, then takes his leave after pocketing the coins.

Answer:

Dimaethor walks slowly over to the merchant. He is a Wood Elf of middle height and slender build; entirely average for his race.

Merchant: Come, come! I have many fine wares.
Dimaethor: *quickly spots a well-made scabbard* How much for that?
Merchant: The scabbard? Ah, a good choice. *scratches his chin, thinking.* 200 Minas!
Dimaethor: That's absolutely outrageous. 100.
Merchant: *eyes Dimaethor, then shrugs* 125 and we have a deal.
Dimaethor: *ponders it for a moment, then nods decisively. He gets a coin pouch, quickly counting out the right amount, and tosses it to the merchant.*
Merchant: Nice doing business. Farewell, then.
Dimaethor: Farewell. *takes the scabbard and leaves*
