More Blood And Gore

Some distance off the track leading to Salvus, at the bottom of a small hill under a tree, there is a dead body.  A yellowish corpse almost all obscured by the seaweed it seems to be draped in.  It is blooded about the head, and the grass nearby is stained with blood.  The cause death is obvious:  The creature's skull has been smashed in, as if by a heavy blow, and is is pierced by a number of arrows in its hands and about the head.  What is this strange being?  How did it meet it's end?  Why?  And how did whatever it is get to be lying at the bottom of a ditch, under a tree, in Salvus?
