My name is Faiz Kharadeen, I am part of a small family, living a normal average life. I have a father, a mother, and two younger brothers. We are humble worshipers of God. We live within the city of Kingston, since my father is but a humble merchant. " (Oh and if you were wondering what Faiz meant if meant anything at all, its Hero.) " In my younger years, I was taught by my uncle how to use a sword and bow. He taught me the arts of stealth , secrecy, and strength. You might even say he taught me the ways of the assassin.. *wink* Even though he was just a Corporal in the army, he knew what he was doing. It's because of him that I am a stronger man. Before his untimely death due to the war, he told me to continue to follow my dreams, to help those in need when needed, something he couldn't do due to the restrictions of the army. I later soon found his journal, which told of how he was a fond believer of peace, which motivated me greatly, even though it was a bit ironic." "My family lived a happy life, but we weren't apart of the middle or upper class. Even though we were fairly poor, my father taught me to be generous and kind to others, because one day they'll be kind and generous to you. I noticed when I was young there are many hard ships and troubles people had to face, especially the poor. I felt bad, I wish I could change everything where everyone was happy, and so once I reached the age of 20, that is when I realized what I want to do. Not inherit my fathers business, but to help others in their quest for happiness and peace. If we can live in a world of peace, think of everything we could accomplish together! We can feed the hungry and the poor, we can advance our ways of technology and make life easier upon us, we can have less deaths upon the innocent, we can truly have happiness. But, sadly that goal is far from my reach because of my class, so I shall do the next best thing... I shall travel across the lands and seas and help those in need, and save those in trouble." Ambitions for the Future: To create a world of peace and happiness.Personality: A kind, happy, loving, and generous man that no one has a problem with. Also has a humorous side to him.Skills: Ability to negotiate greatly and end conflicts in peace. Can deliver motivating speeches as well. +Strength, endurance, and extensive weaponry skills. Also has knowledge in math and is literate.Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Any other details you wish to share about your character: I wear a hood to mask my identity, since most likely I am to make enemies across my journey. You can characterize me as an assassin really, since I prefer to creep up on people and get them on the surprise."Open-Response-QuestionsEach question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.____1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?Answer: *runs up to shady individual" me: "excuse me sir, but may I ask what you are up to this fine evening?" shady guy: "Oi! wat ar yew look'in at ya baggard? where *hic* is the pub?" me: "Oh your just drunk... well- shady guy: "Don't call *hic* me druunngk yewwww..... ****! Hey guards! *Guards approach* me: "This man is fairly drunk, can one of you take him to a local inn?" *gives guard money" me: "That should be enough for the inn keeper, and some extra for you fellas." 2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?Answer: me: "Hmm... Seems to me we have some trouble..." *I carefully use my skills to get near them without alerting them* me: "Ahem. Excuse me gentlemen, but may I ask what you are doing to this poor defenseless man?" ( The bandits jump and draw out their weapons in shock" Bandit 1: "Who are YOU? What are you doing here?!" Bandit 2: "Give us all your money or else!" Me: " I shall do nothing of the sort. Leave this poor man, otherwise we're going to have a problem." Bandit 1+2: "HAHAHA!" Bandit 2: "What are you going to do with that measly iron sword? Whittle us a bow? Me: " No not at all, but if you'd like, I can show you what I CAN do with this sword." Bandit 1: "I've had enough of your insolence!" Bandit 2: "Lets just kill him and take his possessions. " (Bandit 1 and 2 leap out at Faiz with their sharp swords, but Faiz can tell they have never used a sword before) (Faiz withdraws his sword quickly and takes his stance, sword raise high waiting for the first strike. Bandit 1 swings low, and thats where Faiz notices his footing mistake. Faiz swung his sword upon bandit 1 sword and bandit 1 stumbles a bit, then Faiz swung once more to disarm him, causing bandit 1 to fall to the ground.)( Bandit 2 was carefully trying to sneak up behind Faiz, but the old man realized this and yelled to Faiz "Behind you!" Bandit 2 swung towards Faiz head, but with the help of the old man, Faiz quickly ducked, rolled to grab bandit 1's weapon and stood. Faiz could tell by this bandit's footing that he has some skill in him, so he had to be careful. Bandit 2 came fast on the attack against Faiz and swung his sword from up high. Faiz side swept to the left and was waiting for the opportunity. Bandit 2 swung ferociously at Faiz, but wasn't able to get any hits on him, Faiz was to fast for him. Faiz then threw in the air the sword he acquired from the first bandit to confuse the second bandit, who instinctively looked up, which was his mistake. Faiz then punched him in the side of the face and swung his sword upon his to disarm his enemy. He then kicked the bandit upon his chest which caused the bandit to sway back.) me: "Now then, since you are clearly defeated be off, otherwise I'll be forced to take your life." (The bandits, frustrated at their defeat, get up and leave with haste.) me: "Im terribly sorry about that sir, I hope they didn't cause you any trouble" Old man: "Oh thank you very very much! Is there any way I could repay you?" me: "No, its alright don't worry about it. Here, take these swords, so that if they ever come back again you can scare them off with these. *Hands old man the bandit's swords* Old man: "Thank you young man. Tell me, what is your name?" me: "The name is Faiz good sir, it was a pleasure meeting you but I must be off. Have a good day!" old man: "You too! Thanks again!" 3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).Answer: (As I walk across the capital, I come across a merchant selling a variety of things. The first thing that caught my eye were a couple of old books scribed "God's will" and "Book of Heroes".) merchant: "Ahh, hello sir! I see that you are interested in these here books.." me: "Why, yes I am! They seem very old and interesting... Tell me, how much for both?" merchant: "How much are you willing to offer?" me: "No particular amount really..." merchant: "Hmm... How does 20 menas sound?" me: "Hmm.. Sounds decently fair-" merchant: "I mean 15 menas! That's a good deal for these two books! If you don't think so I'll be willing to haggle down the price for you..." ( I can tell he is really trying to get rid of these books... Why?... Upon closer examination I notice that his coin pouch is very very small, and that his clothes are a bit torn.. It seems to me his business is taking a toll for the worse and that he's trying very hard to feed himself and his family...) me: "Alright you got yourself a deal sir! 15 menas for the two books!" merchant: "Very good sir!" (I hand him the sack of coins and he hands me the books) me: "Thank you very much!" merchant: "No no, thank you! Come again, tell your friends!" (As the merchant grabs the coin pouch off the table, he notices it to be a bit heavy...) merchant: "What the?... Oh god please no... Don't tell me I got ripped off.." (The merchant then opens the pouch and puts his hand to retrieve whats inside) merchant: " Why... It can't be!... There must be at least 250 menas in here! I- I can't believe it! I mean, but why? This has to be a mistake!" ( He open the pouch and looks again inside to find a little papyrus note that said "Tis not a mistake.")
Princeton 396 Share Posted June 6, 2013 -- Unfortunately, I am going to have to deny this application. You have just a couple minor mistakes and then you'll be good to go! Firstly, your biography lacks LoTC lore. You do mention Kingston once, which is good, but I would like you too add a little more information. Also, your character strikes me as a little bit of a power-gamer. You mention he is good with swords and a bow, decent reading skills, ability to preform math, and well-spoken. Throughout all your application, you never mention one downside to your character that balances the positive. Secondly, the word "assassin" has a pretty negative connotation too it. You are not allowed to randomly kill somebody on the server without proper provocation. You need a VA to perform villainous acts such as lock-picking and murdering. You must be a member on the server for at least a week to be able to obtain a VA. Lastly, your ORQ's are not done traditionally. Doing ORQ's in the "list" fashion doesn't prove you can role-play, but it only proves you can list dialogue. I suggest adding detailed actions along with dialogue mixed between to create a real situation. Refer to an implemented application for an example. Please wait 24 hours after this post to reapply . Feel free to Me with any questions or concerns!
