In-Character Information:

Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name:Ker’Athri

Current Age:136

Sub-race (if any):Dark Elf

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

Ker Athri was born to loving if somewhat demanding family, and was often described as a youth as pleasant and kind. She was often found studying the land and nature with great enthusiasm. This occupied much of her time, and seemed to be a great love of hers. It seemed obvious to many she would grow up to become a hunter or similar. She had some mild troubles growing up due to her habit of unabashedly speaking her mind, regardless of the consequences, and she often wore out her parents with her over abundance of energy. But she was a good girl overall, and her parents were proud to see her grow.

As she grew, her respect for nature showed through her actions. Although she considers herself a huntress by trade, she does not kill without thought, and uses as much of a kill as possible. She avoids using unnecessary traps or tactics that would cause undue suffering in her prey. She was blessed enough not to encounter bandits while growing up, and would likely have tried to bring them to justice properly if any were encountered rather than kill them outright.

A pivotal event in her early years was when as a youth she slew an orc raider who was attempting to sabotage her village’s food supply. By pure happenstance, she was hunting in a field near a major farm when the foul saboteur was sneaking up to burn the crops. Without hesitation, she fired several arrows and dropped the orc before even realizing what she had done. She considers this event to be what truly turned her into an adult. She often dwells on it and wonders what could have happened had she acted differently.

She also, during periods of poor hunting, worked on her blades and other acts of blacksmithing. While her true passion was and will always be nature, she became fairly competent at repairing, blades, arrowheads, and a few other sundries. While she sees it more as a hobby, she nevertheless tries to keep her skill sharp to this day.

Eventually she was overcome with wanderlust, and perhaps a bit of curiosity about the wider world. Setting out from her homeland, she began to travel to meet new people, and see the diverse races outside her homeland. She vaguely wants to visit dwarven lands and enhance her blacksmithing, or perhaps human lands and sample their interesting cuisine. Vaguely she worries about what will happen if she encounters more orcs, but she feels she will cross that bridge when she comes to it.

Ambitions for the Future: See the world, meet new people, hone her skills.

Personality: Much as it was as a youth, Ker is energetic and empathetic. She never seems to run out of energy or kindness for others.

Skills: She is skilled in using bows like most every elf but is also skilled in using large knives and daggers at close range in a fight. She is able to keep her weapons well maintained but is not able to make weapons.

Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin):vsRgnVg.png

Any other details you wish to share about your character: Ker is tall and muscular, her brawn and size belying the wisdom and kindness in her. Her clothing istight fitting but unrestrictive

Open-Response-Questions

Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.

____

1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react?

Answer: Ker stops at the sounds and investigates, coming across the elves mocking the child. Ker walks over and crouches down to talk to the child first, ignoring the adults as they stand there. “What is the matter little one, what have they said that makes you cry so?” The child looks down and mumbles about how they were mocking her for not wanting to practice using a bow and wanting to learn how to use a sword. She nods and rises, facing the older elves and crossing her arms, looking cross. “I see no reason to be mocking a young one for their preferences of arms, especially since I know you.” She points at one of the other elves. “Regularly use a knife when hunting without ever using your bow.” He shifts a bit and looks away as she looks at the other one. “And you, I don’t know why you decided to pick on the only child I’ve seen in years but children are to be loved and cherished, would you bully your own child for their preferences, especially when our children are so rare because of the curse? I did not think so.” She reaches down and picks the child up, giving a glare to the two other elves before taking her home.

2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?

Answer: Ker helps the man up, looking concerned as she sits him on the stump of an old tree. She hands him her waterskin as she begins picking up the gold on the ground and replacing them in the pouch. “Why are you traveling alone old one? Not many humans come to the forests, especially ones that are, not to be disrespectful, old and frail as you.” The man takes sips of the water as he rests, then looks to her as she continues picking up the gold and his walking stick. “Thank you elf, I am traveling to visit an old friend in one of your villages, him and I were discussing events and I had decided to visit him instead of him making the trek to visit me.” Ker nods and hands the pouch of gold to him, which he tucks away, and his walking stick. “If you would allow me, I will take you to your friend.” He shakes his head and begins to get up. ‘No, no, you’ve already helped me and I cannot ask for more.” Ker smiles and takes his arm, helping him along the path towards the village. “It is no trouble at all, I am happy to help you.” She smiles and they make small talk as they walk to the village.

3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved).

Answer: Ker walks over to the trader and smiles as she greets him. As he tells her he sells almost everything she nods and asks if he has any dwarven made knives, as she has heard dwarven weapons and tools are much better than what elves usually make. “Oh yes, I have a fine dagger for you miss, here.” He shows her a largish dagger with engravings and an ornate handle. She shakes her head and smiles. “No, thank you. Do you have any ones that are also dwarven made, but more plain?” She knows that intricacy usually means the dagger was for either show or rituals, and the merchant nods as he pulls out a plain dagger with a gold hilt. “The plainest I have, dwarves aren’t known for making mundane tools and weapons.” She nods and takes the knife with the merchant’s permission, holding it up and feeling it and weighing it, then nodding. “This is fine, now on to the payment. I shall give you fifty pieces of gold.” The merchant shakes his head. ”That will never do, you know it’s fine dwarven craftsmanship and I shall only accept one hundred and fifty pieces.” Ker hands him back the dagger and considers. “I shall pay you seventy five.” “One hundred twenty five miss.” “Ninty. My dagger may not be dwarven forged but it is still capable.” The merchant sighs and holds out an ornate belt with a holster for the dagger. “One hundred and ten and I will throw in the belt miss.” Ker looks it over and then nods after a bit.” Alright, you have a deal, I will also purchase a bundle of those fine arrows I see for thirty more.” The merchant looks to the arrows and shrugs. “I don’t see why they can’t be sold for forty miss.” Ker gives a playful sigh and nods. “Fine, I don’t want to run you out of business by taking all your wares for cheap.” She holds out a pouch of gold and the merchant takes a few minutes to count it before handing the items to Ker, which she happily accepts. “Thank you, maybe we shall meet again and I will buy more of your wares, have a fine day.” The merchant waves as Ker walks away, the belt around her waist with the new dagger and the arrows in a quiver she has on her back.

Excellent, really well done. The pop quiz in WSC showed you have a basic understanding of Elven lore, but I do suggest reading some of the wiki for more details.
