KUSHerZombie 222 Share Posted June 28, 2013 Could someone give me a 'nobility ranking tree' or something? Example: Where do the Duchess & Duke come in, and where does the child come in? What are they? Thanks! King___Queen ___|___ Prince__Princess Duchess__Duke | | | Lady Lord Male|Female ? ?
ĔṀĔŔĨĨČĶ 519 Share Posted June 28, 2013 King and Queen Prince and Princess Duke and Duchess Count and Countess Baron and Baroness Knights I'm pretty sure that is how it goes. Knights are often considered a low form of nobility so I included them as well. Of course Oren's line is far more complicated then just that. As Prince/Princess' children are also called Prince and Princess and you have to deal with the entire Royal Prince/Princess vs Imperial Prince/Princess thing. As for Children of Dukes - Barons they'd most likely be considered Lords/Ladies so long as their family still holds the land. Really Lord is just a polite way to call someone who is above you on the nobility ladder. A Duke could be called a Lord just like a Baron can be. KUSHerZombie 222 Author Share Posted June 28, 2013 Wait, so I'm a bit confused. The children of the dukes and duchess's are called Barons/baronesses or Lords/Ladies
ĔṀĔŔĨĨČĶ 519 Share Posted June 28, 2013 Your children would be called Lord/Lady. Thought, again, Lord/Lady isn't a noble rank but since they're children of nobility they are nobility themselves. Now a Duke owns a duchy which is made up of several counties. And a county is made up of Several Baronies. However unless the father gives them a Barony, they aren't a baron/baroness. Of course a Duke could easily give the children a barony to rule over once they come of age, making them a Baron/Baroness. So until then, the children are Lord/Lady.
