Vekrus 396 Share Posted June 29, 2013 -= The Death of Talon =- Talon lay awake, looking out the window at the moon, contemplating his life and all that he had accomplished. He began to think of the legacy he would leave behind for his family and those who knew him. As he thought long and hard he decided that there was really nothing left for him, here in Oren. Sitting up in bed he looks back at his wife, Beth. A warm smile slowly grows and he remembers the time they first fell in love. Leaning over he kisses her softly and then walks to his wardrobe. Taking out his old Ranger cloak he puts it on along with his silver gauntlets. Talon then takes a note a scribbles out some words to his wife and lays it on his pillow. Taking his sword off the wall he straps it to his side. As he leaves the rooms he also takes his bow and quiver. Walking into each of his boy's rooms he leaves notes for each of them and then quietly leaves the manor. He looks back at his home, his family, his life, and lowers his head. He walks a distance to the quiet of his sanctuary. Here he kneels down next to the pond and prays. "Bless my family, bless the Emperor, and bless Oren. Creator, comfort my wife through this and let it be a easier on her. Give my boys the will to press on and become men. Give them the courage to do what's right even if it's dangerous, because that is what defines a man. Amen." Rising up he walked to the stable and saddled his horse. Mounting his stead he turned and headed North, into the wild. He had only heard stories of what lay beyond the mountains and the danger that accompanied them, but at this point in time he was fearless. He knew his life would soon come to an end, and he accepted it. The titles Talon once held now moved on to others. Andrik Valkrae, being the eldest of Talon's sons inherits the title of Count of Sherwood. Ser Athirius II would now lead the Silver Gauntlet in its endevours to protect the Kingdom and serve the Emperor justly and with honor. [Well y'all, I have had a ton of fun rping with Talon as he has been the one ive played since the beginning (basically.) As my time on LotC calms down I have decided to just stick with two characters for now so if you see me around make sure to say hi to Talon's youngest son, Rowen! She frowns, sighing and waves to her husband even though she knows he can't see her. She says in a quiet and soft tone "Farewell Talon. I will miss you, and so will our dear children... I hope you find what you are looking for my dear husband." After watching her husband leave into the wilds she walks briskly to her childrens rooms, waiting for them to hear of the devastating news she sits by their beds, sitting alone quietly for a few hours thinking of their past together. Snake Plissken 637 Share Posted July 1, 2013 News of Talon's departure reaches Athirius as he sits idly in his castle at Owlswood, as he seems to have been doing for quite some time now. For a moment he considers taking up Talon's spot as the head of the Silver Gauntlet, even though he cant quite remember the actual name for that rank. After that moment of consideration, he decides that he may as-well take the rank just for the sake of having more power than he needs. Who knows, Arhadir might be able to clean up the Order as the new 2IC, but then again, when has Arhadir really been useful for anything? Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
FalconByte 156 Share Posted July 1, 2013 Arhadir is coming up with ideas for the silver gauntlets keep when he hears the news, he assumes that athirius will take up the leadership of the chapter. he the starts coming up with ways of improving the chapter of the silver gauntlet as well as the keep.
