How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: A nice fellow on the minecraft forums responded to my post of a serious RP experience and LOTC was one of the recommended.

Definitions
In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:

Role-playing: To take on the role of a character and preform exactly as he would.
Meta-gaming: Taking information from outside your characters realm of knowledge and using it to your advantage.
Power-emoting: Forcing your actions onto another, for instance not letting them have a say in RP you just go and kill or go and steal without them being able to react.

Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Talathar Farlick
Current Age: 19
Sub-race (if any): Half-Elf (If sub-races are not limited to the ones on the wiki,)
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Talathar was cursed from a very young age. And not with the typical short-life or turn into a frog curse, but this curse was Longing, always wanting more. Talathar dreamed and hoped for adventure during every second of everyday. He wanted nothing more than to fight dragons, wield magic, do anything you can read about in books. However, that all changed during the Battle Of The Boot. Talathar lived with his mother. When he was young he was in the midst of The Battle Of The Boot, large creatures where everywhere, Talathar had to run home to his mother. Alas, when he got there she was dying. She quickly told him of his father, an Elf. And that his father left because he felt his duties as an elf where more important. Talathar got angry. He tried to pull his mother out but she refused, she told him to run, and never look back. Talathar did, he ran from the region that was loosing its human grip. A tall man cloaked in white scooped him up and carried him away, for a long time Talathar wondered if the roars behind him would stop chasing him. It was then he realized he was actually being chased. Eventually the man put Talathar down and said, "Son, Go. You must run and never come back here, take this cloak, it'll make you strong." Talathar was handed a similar white cloak, with blue insignia's on it. He put it on, "Now, there's another in these woods, named Ilia, Protect her, and she'll Protect you. Run! GO!" With that the man stood and unleashed a fury of fire from his hands. Talathar stared in awe for a few seconds then ran as fast as he could. The roars turned to cries of pain, and the last Talathar saw was the mans ears, they were pointed.
      Talathar found Ilia. She's an elf. The only elf Talathar doesn't feel hatred to. Ilia's his Half-sister. He'll protect her with his life. Ilia and Talathar wandered and wandered, and perhaps are still wandering, looking for a place to live. Talathar forgot all about adventure after The Battle Of The Boot. But he'll adventure again, if and when, he needs to.
Ambitions for the Future: To Find A Home, and make a living with his Half-sister.
Personality: (If you follow D&D) Chaotic Neutral. He'll do anything to survive. But Whether it's violent or passive, depends on the situation.
Skills: Bowman, and Adept Swordsman. Interest in Arcane Arts.
Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Tall, Slightly built, always wears the cloak he was given. (Picture included as attached to this post. In The Picture, Talathar is in the Prescence of the King and his Royal Guards.)

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer: I'd walk up to one of the guards and strike up a normal conversation. In the midst of it, I'd casually point out the man and tell him to watch him. Then, I'd casually walk away wanting no other part of the situation. If This is gona be trouble, I don't wanna be around when it hits.


2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

Answer: I'd Frown and watch from a concealed area. If The bandits leave with some of the old mans things i'd hopefully compensate him for them. If They attack I'd stand up and shout, "HEY!" Getting their attention, "Fight someone worthy of being fought!" and if they simply attack I'd run, while keeping them insight, away and lead them far from the man cottage, taunting them to keep them on my trail. If they ask who I am, I'd make some story that I'm a very important person and they'd never be able to defeat me. If they fall for it, they'd run away. If Not I'd do my best to defend the man.


3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer: I'd look over his items. If he has any arrows, survial gear, anything useful i'd consider buying it. If i haven't bought the item elsewhere I wouldn't even bother offering a price. I only buy items from strangers that i've bought elsewhere. I'd then offer to buy the items for the same price as where i shop elsewhere. If he wants more i'd say, "Sir, I bought these same items at (insert store here) and for (insert amount here) unless you can convince me that your items are worthy of a higher price. We'll be at a crossroads. And Unless he convinces me of his price i'll be paying what i offered.

Firstly, I would suggest expanding upon both of your definitions with more specific examples of role-play.

 

Secondly, your biography could use official LotC lore. "The Battle of the Boot" is not an actual battle in LotC, so it may not be used as a part of your characters life.

 

You mention your character is an adept swordsman, yet you give no explanation of him ever learning combative skills from anyone in your biography. I suggest explaining where he developed these skills.

 

For personality, you mention your character might act violent to survive. Although this is not a reason I am denying you, a VA (Villain Application) is required to do violent acts such as stealing, killing unprovoked, and purposely swindling people.

 

Lastly, your ORQ's were rather short and lacked detailed actions and dialogue. I suggest using a third person approach so you may describe the whole situation with detail and a outside prospective of dialogue. Refer to an implemented application for a proper example.
