House Status - Great House

House History

 

House Green is one of the few (perhaps only) Human Houses remaining in Oren that did /not/ originate in the Empire, yet still remains one of the oldest remaining Houses ( Behind Houses such as Horen and Valois) in Oren. The House was founded and brought to nobility in the island Kingdom of Empyreal, in the days of Asulon. The kingdom was a small, mercantile nation ruled over by a single Monarch, King Codrik. The two original members, brothers, Adam and Joshua founded a small settlement focused around a quarry, which was later dubbed Stonedar. 
 
The settlement flourished for nearly a decade, growing at a slow, but steady rate, and during this time both Adam and Joshua married, Adam bearing three children, one set of twins, Codrik and Aila, and one younger daughter, Allison - Joshua bore a single child, a boy, Coltius. Eventually King Codrik took ill and infirm in his old age. The brothers were placed as regents in his stead, Joshua being put charge over the island’s capital city of D’hara, and Adam the rest of the island, consisting of countryside and scattered settlements. King Codrik passed shortly over a year later in his sleep, leaving the brother’s total control over the island.
 
These times were quiet, and short, only lasting about two years before the volcano at the center of the island, just above Stonedar, erupted, destroying a good portion of Stonedar and completely eradicating the city of D’hara, rendering the island uninhabitable. Luckily, the brothers managed to gather a good portion of citizens onto the island’s two largest ships ( Also the two largest ships in Asulon ), the Kraken, and the Leviathan. From there the refugees sailed to the mainland, taking refuge in Cloud Temple, living confined on their ships for several months. Desperate, Adam turned to the only place he could think of that would take them in - The Holy Oren Empire. He traveled to the capitol of Arethor in search of the Emperor, Godfrey, who was absent at the time. Instead, he was met by the Lord High Chancellor, Alexander de Stolistes, and little did Adam know - but the Lord Chancellor would hold a momentous part in the House’s history.
