Stealing From Thieves?

Just wanted to know. Would you need to have a VA in thievery to steal?.. From a person who stole from you? For example

Bob takes jimmies ball. And runs away with it. Would Jimmy be able to find him and steal back his ball from Bob?

No, because it's YOUR item, as long as you know it's yours and you don't take anything else...

You need a VA to steal from thieves.

You do not need a VA to steal from someone who stole from you previously (of course, this counts only for the item(s) that was/were taken from you.)

For example, if a thief steals your sword, you can't go to his hideout and steal pretty much everything including your sword.
