Benny_Fool 80 Share Posted October 25, 2013 The day had been quiet in the village of Lenfarthing. The little folk piddled around, doing a whole lot of nothing. Some sat deciding on a new elder, some rallied for a new gatehouse with a complimentary burrow extension, but most simply sat enjoying the evening air. Then from down the road, a dusty figure appeared. His clothes were dirty and his face was smudged like many before him. His features seemed familiar to those who saw it. Wizened blue eyes took in the sights of the town, and his coarse brown hair sat largely unkempt on his head, blowing in a soft wind. He'd come to discover his new life, as well as his father's old one. This, of course, was Felix Featherfoot the II. Born of a mother Felix the I once loved. His father had left his mother after a night of passion and lust 25 years ago. She named him after the only family he had. Sadly, his mother died in childbirth, and he was left to be raised by a kindly hobbit farmer who brought him up in the old ways. When the man told him of his father, he immediately set out to find him. Now he sat on the outskirts of Lenfarthing, like his father once had, exhausted and world-worn. He made his way across the village to Featherfoot Hollow, where the elderly Faldo Featherfoot told Felix of his father's passing. Felix found his clothes that'd sat unused for years, and donned them. Inside his father's chest he found many books of poems and memoirs of adventures long past. What remained of his father's life lay before him now, and he found a deep and gratifying peace in it. With a content sigh he set upon the village to drink and be merry with his own kind. Felix the II had found a new home that day, and a new heart.
