  2. Caedric receives the scroll outlining Clan Kvitravn, he'd read over it and place it into a large yet empty book labeled, "NORLANDIC BOOK OF CLANS". He'd attach a small label to the page, "PENDING" "Allfat'er guide ye'." Caedric says with a smile.
  3. Caedric I Edvardsson reads over the missive, he'd call his trusted Norlandic Puffin to his window and being penning his information down to send to the High Keeper. He'd then get back to his historical studies. "Registry Form Name: Caedric I Edvardsson Year of Birth: 1738 Clan: Edvardsson Line of Descent: Son of Godric I Edvardsson"
  4. It clearly isn’t arbitrary, the Snow Elf community’s reaction proves that. Why did you not communicate with the Snow Elves before coming to this conclusion? If it’s because of mechanical systems for the future, that makes sense, but be forward about your motives and actions. Don’t kill me in an event for being divergent.
  5. -1 bad taste, didn’t even hit up the snelves. Failure of staff to communicate with their snelf leaders. Snelves will live on forever in our hearts.
  6. Caedric reads the treaty, he’d nod with a smile, “What about t’e beard clause?”
  7. Welcome to Norland: The Highland Realm Preface The Highland Realm is a great swath of land which is made up of multiple demesnes all led by one of the four High Lords. Life in the Highland Realm is never greatly peaceful as the threat of dark creatures constantly threaten the land. The people of the Highland Realm always seem to stand strong. The Kingdom of Norland, Capital of the Highland Realm Anthem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=gCDxiNtIpdU Forum: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/forum/1131-the-highland-realm/ Peak times: The most active hours of Norland are 7:00 PM EST to 1:00 AM EST. When there is an announced event it often will fall at 7:00 PM EST to 10:00 PM EST. If no one is in Norland at the time try the local regions like Lunsbeck, Darrowmere, or Vi Stige may have another in it! Capital City & Culture The Capital city of the great land of Norland is Morsgrad, a city which accepts all peoples, but is primarily Human Highlanders. There can be found the sole Ashwood Tree here, this tree is a symbol of Norland and is planted wherever her people end up. There is an open marketplace, a fishery shop, an old bookstore, a tavern, and many homes open to those who wish to live here. The people of Norland are a very hearty and jovial people who take pride in the things they do, no matter how small the task, they will take it up and do their best to perfect and earn bragging rights. Along with this pride the Nordish Men take up a very headstrong ideal of themselves and their people, leading to brash, proud, and fiercely loyal ideals which tends to show itself in the Nordish people’s actions. Opportunities/What is there to do? From adventuring with the Purifiers to selling swords, armor and other various equipment in the large market square there are many opportunities for any character to partake in. Norland and the Highland Realm always have something to do, be it hunting for undead fiends or slaughtering an over-populated harpy nest on a mountain top! If you’re a tradesman, swordsman, or salesman, you have a place to stay in Norland! Vassals Morsgrad, the capital city of Norland and the Highland Realm, is not one city chalked to the brim with all it’s people, no, it is a Highland realm brimming with life at all of it’s corners. From the vast fields of Mitteland, to the peaceful forests of Aedelland where Lunsbeck rests, to the harsh and frozen lands of the Northmarch where Vi Stige lies. There is a home for all Highland people. With the capital city of Morsgrad at its center where all may dwell in the protective walls of the cliff should there need to be protection. Nordish Traditions and Faith Red Faith - https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/forum/1133-red-faith/ Red Faith is the religion of the Norlandic people and is the majority religion in the Highland Realm. The Red Faith of the Allfather follows His light and with His wrath and justice does he fight against those of the long dark and the evil of the skies. It is our job here in this world to fight back what slips through the cracks of this corrupted world and live on to spread the shining truths of the Red Faith for all to see. The Red Faith has multiple branches of thought and for in depth explanation one can seek the knowledge of a Keeper. Notable Figures/Players who can help: King Caedric Edvardsson - Qaz_The_Great Halvar Edvardsson - nickrocky213 High Keeper Alisa Camian - AstriaS Hearth Keeper Jager Faeretto - Draiden_Kaid Ashbringering Orlanth Stormbringer - Orlanth Purifier Edward Kursin - DAENGIE Directions: (1700 -1700) A man, woman, or child may walk down the winding roads to the northeast of cloud temple. The road that leads east from most human kingdoms. Eventually at the old Curonian Crossroads there will be a fork; the path on the right is the one to take that leads into the Highland Realm. The first town within our borders is that of Darrowmere, a small Canonist town that crests itself next to the river with its friendly populace, with its walls parting in the middle to allow passage further. The old Astorga wood, a large forest in the North West of the Aedellands, sits to your left as you journey down the path. At this point you will reach another fork in the road, the left path leading to the Nordish Capital of Morsgrad and the Village of Vi Stige and the right path leading to the the Southern Aedelland, where the men of Lunsbeck tend, and the Mitteland, where the Waldienians of Eisenwald live. SS Pillars are located on the midsection of the Spire leading up to Morsgrad, the left path down before going to the bridge and another SS Pillar is located in Vi Stige! Important Posts:
  8. Reads over the missive, ”T’at clears t’at up!” He’d get back to work slaughtering undead creatures and ungodly masses of worms from his Realm.
  9. Get better soon, you’ll be alright Almond!
  10. Nice! Always glad to see a new and unique culture arise again.
  11. Adding guns makes all else useless, it would force others to adopt guns. It effects everyone on the server.
  12. Because the thing you want will be used against the other half of the playerbase.
  13. He owes nothing to anyone LOL. I agree with his point.
  14. Lets keep this civil no need to pour your heart into it and go at me, but I already said what I needed to be said in regards to counter this. I think I’m just as qualified as you man, I shoot weapons often and many of my friends work in factories that actually produce firearms, credibility is what I have. (Don’t take offense, it’s a simple discussion on the matter.) The whole aspect of how it can be taken advantage of is how you must see this. It’s important to know that firearms are actually really good and the idea that they aren’t is because most will be comparing them to the weapons we have currently. If you say that a compound bow and a old bow from the 1600s are comparable you’re nuts, the materials do matter and the ease of use changes drastically between the two. The sentence makes plenty of sense now. It is better to not have something that will become an huge issue, agreed. I disagree, in roleplay you are meant to have the ability to place yourself in the world and act in the bounds of that world, the bounds of the world can be loose yes but when it reaches a point where things are simply too much then the ability of the roleplayer to put them self in the world is reduced. All good writers know that cognitive dissonance is not avoidable, but you must embark to reduce it as much as possible. I know they won’t be AK-47s, but I know how firearms related to the ones being suggested work, and I can reasonably say that this will still be broken to the point everyone will have to adopt it, or it will be made so much less effective that using it puts you at a disadvantage. There is no reason to implement something that will be complained about by everyone and hated by all who don’t use it or by all who do. Story team doesn’t control the actions of players unless the players are actively going against the fundamental ideals of the creature lore. Just because someone wants to RP a homosexual doesn’t mean you should throw the book at them because it effects only that player, but when someone wants to RP shooting you with a flintlock pistol then they need the book thrown at them because they’re effecting more than just themselves. I don’t remember Norland being ostricised for RP how we do other than by other Human players. Oren isn’t the only base of human players anyone who says so is wrong.
  15. Cognitive dissonance must be accounted for. I can immerse myself in magic, I can immerse myself in interesting sword duels, and I can’t find myself equating a crossbow to a musket because one is powered by an actual explosion and tears through bone and metal and the other is a bow but with better range and more accessible to the untrained. If we go off the logic of, “We’ll just make it make sense.” you’re right. Simply wrong. We’re talking about well trained troops using these, so the quality of weapon and the quality of the user must be accounted for. I get what you mean but you’re say it as if it wasn’t going to be used by 3-6 dudes who stand in a firing line.
  16. I can’t conced the ALL aspects point because I’ve fired nearly all types of firearms (Brown Bess would be the closest thing I can relate to this). Modern crossbows are also not comparable to old crossbows just as a compound bow isn’t comparable to an old bow. They aren’t comparable injuries. One is survivable the other is death even if you’re wearing armor.
  17. This line of thinking is what allows dumb magics to get accepted. Roleplay must be grounded in reality, obviously it can exceed realistic standards but there is a point where it is simply too ridiculous, and this is that point. Don’t mix me in with them.
  18. I have no clue where you’re getting accuracy from, rifles and such have 100% more range and when shot in vollys will be 100% more dangerous. The scale is in favor of firearms always and it is not fair or balanced. Likewise for crossbow loading speed you must also address the type of crossbow, most effective crossbows are required to be reset via crank or lever. You’re not thinking IRP, you’re thinking within the mechanics of Minecraft. Please not all points I have made prior as they still disprove your argument.
  19. Anyone who understands penetration, range, and production will say you’re wrong. Firearms are simply better than crossbows in all aspects, and are matched simply in the capacity of reload speed (approx 30 seconds). Not to mention that it would make melee weapons useless as Bayonets could fully replace most swords and such as it’d be a 4-5ft spear. I don’t magic RP because it is dumb, so it isn’t just magic role players who disagree with the implementation of firearms. Just because you say something over and over doesn’t make it true.
  20. Very good work! I’d +10 but I can only do it once.
  21. Reads over the document, he’d say, ”Aye Mister Muffins, your skill with a pen is admirable.” He then takes the document and signs his name.
  22. Signs the document, applying his seal to it, ”Many thanks to the venerable Clan Grandaxe.”
  23. Caedric would look over the parchment which his loyal Chamberlain Mister Muffins presents to him, he’d sign at the bottom of it. “The O’Hara Clan should prosper, not die. They are good men put down by a spiteful being; let us hope any issues shall be resolved in the near future.” He hands it back to Mister Muffins and nods, ”Deliver this to all who must know.”
