  2. 25th Anniversary of Karosgrad The Silver Jubilee of our City of Crows 374 ES It may come to a surprise to some that this year marks the 25th anniversary of our landing in Almaris, and founded our illustrious city, Karosgrad! It has served us well, bearing witness to countless pivotal events that have occurred within these walls - from festivals to grand coronations. For the Koenas’ Council, we see it only fit to celebrate such with festivities: A Celebration Through the Streets This year in the square of Karosgrad all manner of games will be set up for guests to try their hand at playing: from the Dunk Tank, to Strong Man, to bean bag throws. All the while, the tavern will be advertising their array of drinks for those merrymakers to gorge upon. Dancing, drinking and gaiety will commence along with traditional music, where guests may converse and appreciate the grandeur of our city! A Royal Address Up on the dais our very own Prinzenas Royal, Her Royal Highness Petra Emma shall make her first address to the Kingdom during such festivities. Her words will include well-wishes and hope for a future 25 years in this city as well as commemorating our journey and hardships we have faced, and will continue to face together. Being the Prinzenas’ primary address to the kingdom in her father’s stead, it shall prove to be an opportunity to witness her grow into her father’s shoes. (Wednesday 19th, 5pm EST) The Silver Melee In celebration of 25 years strong, a melee shall be held in the tourney grounds later in the year in the palace tourney grounds, open to anyone who wishes to attend and try their hand at fighting. There will be a prize of 100 mina for the victor! (Friday 21st, 8pm EST) Signed, Lady Rosalind Amador de Astrea, Grand Lady of Hanseti-Ruska
  3. Fenika Lichte was throwing things, somewhat haphazardly, into her trunk later that evening. Packing away her childhood into a few boxes, as one does, after marriage. Once the job was finished, she looked about her old room, examining each displayed portrait and niche in the wall in hopes to commit it to memory. Perhaps Otto would even get a proper bedroom now that her's was emptied... Then, just as the girl went to close her cupboard she spied a book lying in the back corner. Taking it into both hands and blowing the dust off the colour revealed the all-too-familiar title of Princess Leralina, the fairytale penned by her father for her sixth birthday. It had been her firm favourite for years. Fenika squinted at such a title, thumbing through the worn pages of the story. A little sigh escaped her as she recalled the countless nights Franz had read its contents to her, at her firm request, and decided to slip it under her arm - to keep for her own children, perhaps.
  4. Rosalind de Astrea, now that the invitations had been distributed, was in a WHIRLWIND of dresses and flowers and arrangements of very important things such as colour schemes. Although technically, this was her daughter's wedding - you wouldn't know it, for Rosalind the MAMEJZILLA had made her return.
  5. "Woah!" Fenika Lichte scans over the invitation, before thrusting it in Ailred's face. "I'm going to beat you."
  6. NOTES ON THE HAESENI SEASON Ve Lifstala - The Presentation 372 ES [!] The musings and thoughts of Lady Rosalind de Astrea and Lady Annika Vyronov would be written down neatly. The compilation of notes would be kept private between only the two ladies as they shared their mutual thoughts about the current participants of Ve Lifstala! His Lordship, Edmund Barclay: Lord Edmund Barclay, simply another face in a sea of Barclay genes in Karosgrad. And yet, this particular boy managed to stand out among his relations. DAZZLING the courtroom with his sweet talk and complements. Perhaps we swooned a little. Ladies do like a man who’s good with his alcohol... Her Ladyship, Antonina Valera vas Ruthern: Now this is a face I didn’t recognise, standing to the leftside of her louder sister - Tatiana, my eyes were drawn to her last. However, the girl is promising for this Season’s festivities, despite being so reclusive. Perhaps the mystery she brings to court will entice would-be suitors. Pitting Ruthern against Ruthern was mildly entertaining, I will admit... Her Ladyship, Tatiana Lorina Ruthern: A-ha! One of the trio of Ruthern girls who came bounding up the throne room. A self-proclaimed detective, so it seems. Tatiana Ruthern seems proficient enough to sniff out whisperings and secrets of our court, hm? Being a Royal Jurist and Alderwoman, I look forward to seeing what she can stick her nose into. Out of the trio, pitted against one another, it seems she is the favoured blonde. This fact didn’t escape our notice - nor the eyes or a certain Ser Antonius. How curious! Her Ladyship, Marjorie Ruthern: And here we have the ugly duckling of the group. I found it saddening to observe the chubby Ruthern girl fidget and fuss with all her nervous habits as she made her way to our desk. Compared to her two sisters, she certainly has big shoes to fill. If only she would smile properly, then we might have a diamond in the rough… After all, I’ve always been a fan of the underdog. Mister Ivan Barrow: My dear sweet son, looking bright-eyed and handsome as ever as he strode to present. Niet a word spoken wrong. Nie sense of confidence misplaced. A true specimen of this year’s Lifstala - blessed with the genes of his parents to prevail over the other candidates. I’m quite certain all his muscle flexing must have made a few girls swoon. Her Ladyship, Amelya Kortrevich: Ah, the name Amelya - reminiscent of my poor daughter, Analiesa, who was brutally murdered in some grand plot against myself and my family. This girl shall niet hold the same fate, I dare to say. She has a sweet face, niet yet corrupted by the whims of this court…pretty, niet outstanding, though I’ll admit there’s promise there. With such naivety, it will be curious to see how she settles into courtly life. His Lordship, Anders Kortrevich: I do love the colour red. Anders Kortrevich seemed to take great pride in his appearance, sporting his house colours with pride additionally with the bonus of great fashion sense. A charming boy, much like the rest of his family and is sure to be an easy-going match, from what I can make out. His Lordship, Frederik Baruch: I do niet know where to start. Perhaps with the two words: bad boy. It was told he had an eyebrow piercing, with a sassy attitude and an edgy look about him. Quite the standout of the hour, both Lady Annika and I agree. I dare say we’ll be having to keep lists of all the girls he woos. Her Highness, Princess Petra Emma: Thoughts on Her Highness...hm. She’s awfully sweet, well-spoken and mannered. Polite, for a girl her age. Why would one marry her? Well, to state the obvious, her papej is quite the handsome chap, standing beside her to introduce. She has wealth, the Barbanov name, connections and a very good fashion sense. However axes, I fear, should be kept out of her reach. The Dynastic Prince of Vilachia, Ser Antonius Vilac: Ser Antonius Vilac seems to already have eyes for a certain Tatiana Ruthern - a most promising match in the making. His words have mostly slipped from my mind - a forgettable introduction for the most part, aside for the mention of him being a descendant from Horen and a knight. Perhaps he will surprise me. Mister Dimitri Petrov: The son of the Lord Speaker, who has seemed to inherit his father’s confidence in speaking aloud in large settings - despite being such a young age. I care less for his talents or oratory skills, and more so focused on his appearance. He smells alright for such a young boy! Promising indeed. His Highness, Otto August Barbanov: The son of Franz, arguably quite the opposite of his cousin, Prince Nikolas at the presentation. Rumoured to have had a stutter, the boy seemed skittish to own up to the fact. Handsome for his age, however. I do see his father’s face in his features...if he’ll continue to grow into Ser Franz’s likeness, ladies will certainly swoon! I do suggest he doesn’t attempt another flip. Mister Vulmon Heidan: Fake elf. That’s all. His Lordship, Aleksey Luka Ludovar: Godan, I think I was blinded by his armour and didn’t get a good look at his face! Was he average, below average, just about handsome? Who knows! All I know is that he had a mountain fall on him, which perhaps squashed some of his humour into that snarky attitude he now holds. Hmph. He’s niet as cool as he thinks he is. His Lordship, Klaus Barclay: Now this young lad I recall leading in an audition exercise for Lady Annika’s play - he was quite the promising actor, famous, even. Or at least, he has confidence, which is all a man ever needs. Well, that and money I suppose. Bravo! As I always say, actors tend to survive in court. They’re awfully good at lying. Her Ladyship, Cecilya Lottya Kortrevich: Being a great woman of Canonism myself, Godan has bestowed upon me many visions and visits over my devout years. I see myself in Lady Kortrevich, as she stood before me - a woman of God! I’ll admit her description of GODAN doesn’t quite match my own observations... Perhaps she lies about her religious integrity! Mister John Flick: You’ve got to respect a money man, such as Mister John Flick. Although, he couldn’t do a flip. Disappointing. His Lordship Britannus Vanir: Ah, the son of my dearest friend, Juliya. The young Viscount of Varna, looking for his true match. He is one to look out for, I assume - and niet just because of his questionable amount of appendages which he claims his brother inherited. Whether the ladies find him agreeable or niet is insignificant when an appealing position such as Viscount-Consort is on the table... Her Ladyship, Adalia de Astrea: My dearest daughter! A stellar caller-outer of the Lifstala, her voice pealed over the masses as clear as bells. Calling this name! That name! Although niet part of the presentations herself (since she is already engaged) I made notes on her all the same. His Highness, Prince Nikolas Barbanov, Duke of Galahar: MY GODAN! The star of the show arrived just at the last moment on a noble steed. With his hair blowing in the wind - the pinnacle of Barbanov strength and prowess breezed into the throne room. Swathed in such great fashion sense, the Prince immediately impressed. He’s a good rider. And, the boy accomplished what so many could niet: a flip! Truly the swaggiest prince in town. He is surely another rare catch for this year’s Lifstala. I can only look forward to learning more of this man’s deeper personality, beyond the swag. And I’m quite certain others wish the same... Her Ladyship, Julia Tatiana Ludovar of Otistadt: The Lady Ludovar was presented in a white gown, describing her love of literature to us judges. A smart woman is always a catch but books can only get a lady so far in life...Catching a man takes much more than just book smarts. She’ll need to get her nose out of those books to seek out a dobry match for herself. Her Ladyship, Isolde Barclay: Yet another member of the Barclay litter, though this one stands out of the rest, mainly due to her lack of speech! The poor girl, muted by some unknown reason to me, seemed to make up for her lack of voice with her height! Dear me, it seems that almost all the Barclay women are towering giants. Hopefully the girl can summon up some manners for the upcoming months. Miss Lynette Stewart: Yet another young woman seeking to aspire the same physicality of men. A shame, I believe. Where did the traditional ladies go? Some etiquette classes are surely due for the women wandering around in pants with a sword at their side. His Lordship, Reinhardt Barclay: I originally thought of this boy as one of a kind, though I quickly came to find out this farce. A twin to Lord Klaus Barclay, Reinhardt is almost as ambitious as his borsa. Being a ward of the Lord Palatine is basically the summary of this Barclay’s ambitions, though I still consider him in the shadow of his borsa... His Lordship, Aleksandr var Ruthern: Certainly the Lord Ruthern is one of my top picks for the season. Young, successful and smart! What more could a young lady look for in a man besides looks, something the Ruthern already has. This boy gets a five star rating from myself! Mister Georgios Dracontas: A well built man with a sharp tongue. His poetry had me swooning as it is my newfound weakness in men. His traditional clothing was also a big plus. A guard, a poet, AND handsome. If only I am niet otherwise occupied… Mister Johnny Ferrumhand: Similar to his counterpart, Mister Flick, Mister Ferrunhand could niet do a flip either. A pity show for the duo that had too much confidence. His Lordship, Jan Otto Kortrevich: His Lordship Jan Otto will be a hot ticket for sure this season. Although more of a quiet individual, his voice rings through the duma hall with strength and vigour. Hopefully some of that shows during the upcoming months or else he may fail to find a match, even with a title such as the one he holds. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Signed, Her Ladyship, Rosalind Amador de Astrea, Grand Lady of Hanseti-Ruska Her Ladyship, Annika A. Vyronov, Event Collaborator of Hanseti-Ruska
  7. Rosalind Amador de Astrea loves Canonism. "Godan be praised." She kisses her precious Lorraine Cross.
  8. Rosalind nods a few times as she scans the missive, wiping a stray tear - perhaps out of pride for her youngest, or mourning her elder daughter. "Adalia will be good in DUMA. She does like arguing, after all."
  9. IGN: livrose Character Name: Fenika Lichte Age: 15 Place of Residence / Street Address: Nikirala Palace Position: Alderman
  10. THE MOST HELPFUL CANDIDATE Fenika Lichte on one of her campaigns, rallying the masses circ. 370 ES FENIKA LICHTE BARBANOV MEET THE GIRL HERSELF Fenika Lichte Barbanov is the eldest daughter of the wondrous Grand Maer, HRH Franz Leopold. Inspired by her father, she has decided to follow in his footsteps not only to knighthood, but his interest in the DUMA. At about 10 years old she had graduated from the prestigious academy in Karosgrad with not one, but two degrees! She has served alongside her peers, warding in the Aulic Envoy’s office and is no stranger to hard work and loyalty, as she trains as part of her squirehood under the Knight Paramount himself. So what can she bring to DUMA? A sharp mind, offering a newer perspective of our laws from the newest generation. Fenika will certainly be eager to take up a position, to prove she is ready and able to contribute to Karosgrad’s running. SO WHAT DOES SHE WANT? To protect and serve the people, making sure those who are deserving are protected by the law To keep Karosgrad in order, upholding the law! Allowing for progression. Out with the oldies, in with the new. She's there, helping. I ain't ever seen her not be there, helping. And that's what she wants to keep doing, helping, that's why you should vote for her, so she can help." -Ser Franz Leopold, Grand Maer & Fenika’s papej. VOTE FENIKA. 11. THE FUNERAL OF KOENAS ISABEL Wzuvar and Byvca, 370 ES Va ve Edlervik, From the desk of the Grand Lady, this announcement has not been penned lightly. On this day, the Wzuvar and Byvca of 370 ES, Her Royal Majesty, our Queen-Mother, Isabel of Valwyck, - the prior Queen-Consort to Koeng Josef I - was murdered. It is asked that those attending wear black attire during the ceremony. It is still expected that in these solemn times that the privacy of the Royal Family, and the late Koenas’s loved ones is respected. IV JOVEO MAAN, Signed, Her Ladyship, Rosalind Amador de Astrea, Grand Lady of Hanseti-Ruska ((OOC)) Thursday, April 22nd 3:00 PM EST/ 8:00 PM GMT
  12. Rosalind had been holding Petra for quite some time now. Her arms were numb from the weight of the toddler. She didn't quite want to put her down. Instead, she played with the cuffs of her little sleeves, braiding and unbraiding her hair in tiny plaits, all the while chattering to the girl - about dresses and shoes - picking off a few flowers from her crown to tuck into her hair. "Do niet fear, child. I will buy you a dress. A good dress makes problems go away." Rosalind is very wise.

It won’t be long before the pair are running around the halls of the palace, taking after both their parents in the example that they set. Forewarn of Change The change in seasons signifies a change in fashion and with the warmer months approaching, what better a time than now to announce a new accessory? With sun rays beating down on us as we promenade the city, heutz, or in the common tongue, hats, are the perfect addition to your seasonal wear. Heutz may be worn with fur, fabric, and may be worn in a wide array of colors. Lords and Ladies are all welcome to try out the new trend which has become increasingly common within the court. The Queen’s Council encourages all to join them in establishing this new and attractive trend! The Koeng of Trend-Setting In the last year the Keong has decided to lead a disciplined personal life, in order to cleanse his soul. It has led many others to reconsider how tainted their own souls are - what is our purity, compared to a God-chosen Koeng? He has thrown away finery and luxury, refraining from indulging in fine food and drink. It is certainly something to be admired! Not surprisingly, it is increasingly common for nobles to visit confession in light of this, or to strip back on their own luxurious lifestyle. Signed, Her Ladyship, Rosalind Amador de Astrea, Grand Lady of Hanseti-Ruska His Lordship, Ailred Joren Ruthern, Secretary to the Grand Lady

  17. Positions Within the Court of Hanseti-Ruska A Document Detailing the Various Positions of Court, and Their Duties As penned by HER LADYSHIP, the Grand Lady, Rosalind Amador de Astrea and HIS LORDSHIP, Ailred Ruthern, Secretary to the Grand Lady On the date of 367 ES ✤ Grand Lady ✤ At the top of the palace hierarchy reigns the Grand Lady, charged with ensuring all of their vacant positions are filled and thereafter managed. They oversee the workings of the Custodian of the Palace and the Court Chamberlain, ensuring the quality of the events that they hold -- often inputting their own insightful feedback, offering a hand in organising and putting them into motion. However, the Grand Lady is mainly seen and tasked with being the working eyes of a well-oiled machine, filling in the parts, and seeing that they work properly. As thought to be venerable and exceedingly competent, the Grand Lady uses their natural inner drive to push forth excellency, seeing that all court staff conduct their duties appropriately. They also use their cognition and understanding to hold lessons, and to teach others how to perform their roles; to a tee. One who holds the title of the job, is expected to bear the patience of such, acting as a figurehead both internally for the Kingdom, and externally. [Contact: pudding#7426] ✤ Secretary to the Grand Lady ✤ The Secretary to the Grand Lady is to be the head courier, offering assistance to the Grand Lady and/or the Queen. Requiring the utmost expertise in penmanship, this is due to them drafting either official missives, or personal letters for the reigning Koenas, or other members of the Queen’s council. Their help is also extended to organising and planning events, and of course, detailing such in public invitations or announcements. During sessions of meetings between the council, the duties of Secretary of the Grand Lady include scribing minutes, which are to be handed into the Grand Lady for review. Like many of the other courtly positions, this role is about as useful as one makes it -- spanning from mere scribing, to assisting and partnering with the Grand Lady every step of the way. [Contact: Biggestdon #1234] ✤ Palace Custodian ✤ The Custodian of the Palace is responsible for the general upkeep and event holding for the palace and Royal Family, as well as having their input in the running of servantry within the establishment. Their duties detail that they hold such events within the confines of the Palace, including dinners and palace-based gatherings, but this does not hinder them entirely. It is encouraged, like all other staff, that they work with the Chamberlain of Council, holding and organising events between the two. If either the Palace Custodian or Chamberlain are vacant, while only one is held, the Custodian or Chamberlain in question takes on both responsibilities of the positions. This is until either spot is filled. It is expected that they ensure proper culture and etiquette is upheld within the palace by all courtiers. [Contact: kayla#9479] ✤ Court Chamberlain ✤ In contrast to the Custodian of the Palace, the Court Chamberlain ensures that the streets of Hanseti-Ruska are always bustling with whirl and cheer. The position holds the same esteem as the Custodian of the Palace, but the status of the two differs. This is due to the Custodian inherently requiring more trust and experience than the latter. Their events follow as this, but are not limited otherwise: festivals, tournaments, market activities and or theatrical fetes. The Chamberlain of the Council is expected to work alongside the elected Maer of the City, collaborating on projects, for the overall betterment of the Kingdom. It is expected that they too ensure proper culture and etiquette is upheld within the palace by all courtiers. [Contact: s.#6245] ✤ Head of Servantry ✤ The Head of Servantry works alongside the Custodian, sharing the larger half of responsibility amongst the employed servants. A busy palace is seen to be a good one, so their duties extend to them hiring and training servants primarily and upholding an operative presence. They are to create opportunities of activity within the circle of servantry; hosting events for the staff to attend. The role of servant staff in the palace includes a wide manner of tasks, to and from: general servantry within the palace, serving food, waiting on visitors, cleaning, and attending to members of the Royal Family. The Head of Servantry must ensure every staff member is active amongst the palace and contributing to its welfare whilst also ensuring that each member of council is protected and continues to feels welcome. [Vacant] ✤ Event Collaborators ✤ The Event Collaborators of the council are delegated the smaller events, acting as a stepping stone into further positions within the Koenas’ Council. It is here where they learn to hone their organisational skills, planning and hosting events under the guidance of the Chamberlain, Custodian and the Grand Lady. For larger scale events they operate in a collaborative effort alongside various members of the council, ensuring such festivities run smoothly but should take initiative to create their own. While the tolerance for collaborators of the court is high, and eager to educate all, lethargism will not be tolerated; all are expected to put in their all, and respect is something to be deserving of, and not just given. ✤ Court Historian ✤ The Court Historian is a position for those who are the epitome of sagacity. Tasked with the noble duty of ensuring culture is maintained and upheld in court, it is no easy feat. Being inherently sage, their duties may extend to offering advice to members of the court in times of need, drawing knowledge from history books and past events to apply it to present problems. They are to teach the history of the realm if so asked and aid in the keeping of records, working alongside the Palace Library. It is expected that the Court Historian acts as a general advisor to those in court in all historical matters. [Contact: Total #3263] ✤ Court Governess ✤ The Court Governess is the perfect embodiment of proper etiquette, mannerisms and the likes. They hold great esteem within themselves, and always conduct themselves dutifully and with high regard for the Palace, and those who dwell inside. Their focus is typically set upon teaching etiquette and their mannerisms. Children of the Royal Family are the main subject of the Court Coverness’ teaching. However, children of other members of the Koenas’ Council are entitled to the same upbringing. This includes positions such as the Grand Lady, the Palace Custodian, the Chamberlain and Head of Servantry. The Governess may organise day trips for the children under their guidance, whilst ensuring the children receive a well-rounded education as they grow. [Contact: HeftyDonut #2972, Sander#0004] ✤ Court Mage ✤ The Court Mage is only as useful as the reigning monarchs, or court make them. Their worldly, and remarkable abilities provide fundamental advice and knowledge in which they shall advise the King, and all others who need such. As example, the Court Mage should have the knowledge to deal with supernatural occurrences, or other magical and malicious threats. Seeing as the Court Mage holds significant importance in times of need, they either need to be: a formidable sorcerer, and or, a sorcerer holding a great area of knowledge on a vast amount of matters. [Contact: Jcbeno#6694] ✤ Court Poet ✤ The Court Poet entails their duty in the title, they write poems and prose, and either perform them during feats, balls or other events of the Kingdom. It is also presumed that the Court Poet be a patriot for their nation, and the beloved monarchs. Spreading the good word of their people, Kingdom, faith and love for their art; poetry, and writing. With poetry comes a natural knack for writing and such, so they might assist the Secretary to the Grand Lady, but only if such is needed. Otherwise, and in case of absence of the Secretary, their writing proficiency can be extended to all of those in the court. [Vacant] ✤ Master of the Hunt ✤ The Master of the Hunt garners the respect of many, either being a prestigious noble, or one with considerable prestige and expertise on the knowledge of ‘the Hunt’ itself. They organise and hold hunting events, routinely with the other noblemen of the realm; women can attend, but that is entirely at the behest of the current Master of the Hunt. They can run other events for the noblemen of Haense. Their hunted game can be taken back to their keeps, or holds, as prizes and familial treasures. Or, gifts of this game can be present to the Kingdom, so more than the hunting group can enjoy such, and eat until their heart's content. For larger game, such as bucks or bears, if the carcass is not too tarnished, the bodies can be taxidermied and preserved -- again, for their own halls in their holds, or as gifts to the Royal Family. [Vacant] ✤ Physician to the Royal Family ✤ The Physician to the Royal Family is held by a well experienced physician, holding many years of medical practice under their belt. The purpose of such a position is to ensure the immediate medical safety of the Royal Family, practicing various medical procedures whenever nature may call for such. The Royal Family may call upon the Physician to treat any wounds they may have, as well as assisting in births and even treating that of whoever the Royal Family asks of the Court Physician. Due to the high rank and importance of this position, the Physician to the Royal Family must have a wide range of medical knowledge and must be able to perform said medical procedures in emergency situations. [Vacant] ✤ Court Alchemist ✤ The Court Alchemist is a most coveted and important position within the Royal Courts, providing useful and unique items which can provide medical help or even interesting displays of alchemy to the courts. Courtiers are encouraged to seek out the Court Alchemist and inquire about the many kinds of items the alchemist can provide and create. Those who seek to occupy this position within the Royal Courts must have an extensive knowledge of alchemy, being able to provide a wide variety of creations. An imaginative mind is also useful for such a position as the creativity of an alchemist often determines their success. [Vacant]

  21. Rosalind puts on a brave face, muttering. "Lies and slander! Those who were there know the truth." The lady then paces out of her office...(probably to go to confession again.)
  22. The Least Favourite Graduate adjusts the framed picture of Viktor Kortrevich she keeps by her bed.
  23. "It is indeed!" She quite agrees. Alas, the Grand Lady was too busy pencilling notes to everyone she knew about this week's Hearsay, snorting as she rereads the content on Princess Katerina. Then, recalling Erich's outfit she adds that to the bottom of her letters. "The boy's got swag."
  24. Fenika barges in to her father's room at all the commotion, skidding to a halt only to yell- "What's a common sow?! Can I have one?" @Gusano
