  11. The First Housecarl of Aldersberg, Renata von Bluecrest gazes upon a tent with a smile upon his face, seeing the colors of his house. He ponders towards the blue sky, looking at the golden sun's direction. He takes the pinned crest off of his shoulder and squeezes it tightly. It can only be assumed that Renata looks forward, to turn his future into a paradise for him and perhaps his future family.
  12. Renata von Bluecrest - A Cursed Child [!] This missive was posted all around the Heartlands, long before Renata's posts were published. If your character is 36 and above, and around the Heartlands, it's likely you came across the missive while it was still new. If your character is a year under that age or below, you could still find it, but it's very old and very easy to misunderstand, unless your character is good at deciphering. Upon receiving my gift, it seemed as if a shadow of darkness had left the lad. He hadn't have a single drop of talent within his body, yet when he swung his sword, it was as if I saw a Lord within the lad. That crest... I gave it to em' so that he could be protected from any curse that would befall em'... Was the lad cursed upon birth? An early age? The woman would continue to ponder, as she watched the fifteen year old boy swing his sword. [!] The crest that had de-cursed the boy was used up, and it was a useless piece of metal now, yet he would treasure it for the rest of his life, not knowing what purpose it served. As the lad grew, his sword skills grew with him. The lad is learning! It's been a year since I gave em' that crest, he's been improving. It would have never been possible had it been years back then. I cant believe he beat his first opponent at sparing today. He cleared the dummy-bucket task immediately too. This boy is truly something else. He had a talent for swordsmanship all along... This is great news, but also terrifying. Whoever cursed the lad must've known of this talent, and may be out to attack em' again. I must stay vigilant, and protect my younger brother from whichever monster dared lay their hands on my blood. By the time Renata had become eighteen, he was cast away from his household, with nothing but the clothes on his back. He never felt it, but I was by his side the whole time. If anyone knows a person who would do such a thing, reach your hand out to me, and point yer' fingers to em', and ye' shall be compensated. Renata lad, if ye' ever come across this, know that I will find this person, and eradicate them from existence. Aelia "Aquila" Bluecrest
  13. Renata knew not how to pray. But alas, he signed the Lorraine Cross.
  14. Renata felt a wave of sadness, as he felt he was useless to protect the poor lad from torture. He didn't know how to pray, but as he's seen people sign the Lorraine Cross with their hand, he did the same while hoping the poor lad was okay.
  15. Renata von Bluecrest - A Cursed Childhood [!] This missive is posted around Adria, for any Adrian citizen or soldier to read. Renata would be seen inside the Adrian Barracks with a paper and quill once again, writing away for what seemed like hours. Wooden sword in hand, Renata swung his hardest at the straw dummy in front of him. Though the SLAP could be heard from the dummy, it budged not. A hand on his face, shaking in disapproval, Renata's father walked away from the sight of his son's failed attempt to knock the bucket off the the dummy's head without touching it. "But father, I'm trying my best!" The boy would cry out, begging for his father to understand. "Your best isn't enough!" His father would reply in anger. "Us, who came before you- who came before me were able to do it. Your brothers can do it. Why cant you do anything!?" He exclaims, pointing to Renata's siblings. The fourteen year old would cry, as he knew he was a disappointment to his family. He wasn't enough. He was the jester of the family, an icon to be laughed at, and to never be taken seriously. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't compete with his siblings, who had a natural talent for fighting. Throughout the life of the boy, he was met with constant competition, down to the smallest, tiniest achievement. Who was the quickest? Who was the strongest? Who could pass this training task faster? Wrong from right was decided with a competition. The only achievement Renata won was the biggest laughing stock. The boy would face constant slander every single day. Beaten in sparring by his siblings, yelled at by his father. His own mother wouldn't speak to him, as she had died before he could even lay eyes on her at birth. When he'd go outside, he was laughed at by the children around him, as his siblings didn't allow the boy to have any friends. Though his siblings were savages who wanted the worst for him, there was one who stood out to him, his older sister. She had been exiled from the family, due to her giving up her place as heir to the family throne. She was a hero to young Renata. Though powerful, she was one who cared not for power, but one who cared for oneself. "Renata lad, come with me." She says, beckoning the newly turned fifteen year old to follow her. As she leads him into a snowy cave, the woman would open a box she kept in her satchel, presenting to him a Crest. The Crest depicted an Eagle, in a blue sky with the sun behind it's head flying in the northeast direction. "I want you to take this, lad. Keep it with ye' at all times." She said to the boy. As he looked upon it with glee, he took the Crest. "I will cherish this for the rest of my life. Thank you, Aquila!" The boy says in excitement. "You know not to call me that. It's merely a title. Call me by my real name next time." She responded. As the young Renata frowned upon not being able to speak freely towards his hero, the woman felt sorry, as she was the only one who presented young Renata with a gift on his birthday. "Fine. you can call me that if you want." She says, giving in. It was a memory that young Renata would hold dear to him, he would never forget it as long as he lived, and he would honor his sister by remembering her. On the day the boy had been kicked out of his house with nothing but the clothes on his back: A boy, came from the North, A man, was shaped in the East. Renata Von Bluecrest, Sergeant of the Greycloaks, "The Eternal Gatekeeper"
  16. Renata studies the zodiac in interest.
  17. Renata had fun with the nail and hammer today.
  18. Renata von Bluecrest looked upon the missive with nothing but a smile. In a way, he was glad that the war has been re-ignited. His blood boiled. Not as much as his great Duke, but boiled nonetheless.
  19. The Renata(n) Menace

  20. Renata, The Eternal Gatekeeper Renata took the intermission between his training within the Adrian barracks to sit down and take arms upon his paper and quill, instead of his sword and shield. "Son, once your training has finished, you will venture out into the wild and make a name of yourself. If we do not know of you in a different title, do not bother coming back." "Yes, father." Renata, at the age of ten says. He heard the words, but he never understood it. At the age of eighteen, he was cast away from his house with nothing but the clothes on his back, and was expected to make a name for himself, worthy of the Bluecrest household. "But Papa, I'm not ready! How do I get people to know of me, what if I face an enemy I cant beat!?" Renata exclaims, in fear of never seeing his house again. But his father did not have words for him, for he was disgusted with the questions his own son asked him. On his journey of sadness and hopelessness, upon arriving at Cloud Temple, an energetic man going by the name of Heinrik Sarkozic wandered upon Renata. The man had seen that the boy wasn't from around here. Renata had seemed isolated with nowhere to go. It was then, when Renata was offered a place to stay, and a job to work. The depressed Renata who cursed his own family name, worked as a Greycloak guard to better his sword, for he sought to reclaim his place in his household while achieving glory. It was his dream, his purpose. Years later, a new Renata was born. After the latest battle of Heinrik's Rebellion, Greycloaks, civilians and even the Duke himself had declared Renata to be The Eternal Gatesman. He had forgotten his purpose over the many years that were fogged by endless training, raiding and war. But as he was called this, something snapped within Renata. He had achieved his goal. He had earned a title, worthy of bringing back to the Bluecrest household. Filled with adrenaline from the great accomplishment he achieved, he was ready to pack his belongings onto a cart, until he looked back at the city of Adria. It's beauty, unrivalled and full of life. It's people who cared more for the Bluecrest than any other Bluecrest did for him. "Is it truly worth, abandoning Adria... for a family that doesn't even love me...?" Renata pondered. The man took a long, deep thought, before collapsing in tears. He hated himself for considering both options, as they both felt unethical and immoral to think of. Ultimately, he decided that he would rather stay with his Greycloak friends, and abandon his family as a whole. He had decided that Adria needed a defender, and he would be it's greatest bastion. He hated his name, but one day perhaps he could make something of it. Present Day, the boy turned man would write his story, for any and all to see within Adria. Upon the same paper, he would also announce that he would be starting a new household: The von Bluecrests. He had decided to keep his old name, and rename it to the convention of some of Adria's people, as considers himself Adrian. The symbol of his household would be that of an Eagle, in a blue sky with the sun behind it's head flying in the north east direction. The days of Renata Bluecrest is over. Renata von Bluecrest, The Eternal Gatekeeper, Greycloak Shieldbearer and defender of Adria is born.
  21. "In times like this, we must not show weakness to the enemy, for they will never stop at nothing to take our happiness away. For our great Duke, I shall take the bones of my enemies from their corpses, as they have taken Mariya from our Duke. This is no longer a war for land or kings. This is a war for Morality. If we shall become the public enemy for taking revenge and fighting for what we believe in, then may the entire world come at us, for we shall not stop fighting until we have done unto them, what they have done unto us." Renata would write, upon a letter. He would nail it to the wall of the Adrian barracks, for any Greycloak to see.
  22. Renata, upon seeing this now suddenly wants to have a Barony owned by his family too.
  23. "They came to take our land, and look where that got them! SI VIS ULTIONEM, DUO SEPULCHRA!" Renata exclaims.
