  1. Thalis saw the post and was ready to pull her hair. Where was she going to get 200 mina??
  2. Small hands held the missive, sky blue eyes scanning the words though some escaped the oem'ii as he was still learning how to read. Ael's feet kicked in the air as the little boy sat in the treehouse where he usually slept, the Acaln'sae mansion still too foreign of a place for him to close his eyes comfortably there. The child held little knowledge and concept of what any of this meant, Antelian's figure nothing more than a large shadow that demanded the child learn his ways, a teacher as much as a boogeyman. Soon, Ael grew bored reading and threw the paper aside, bundling his meager possessions to go find his llir.
  3. It should be: Δόξα το θεό (praise the lord) Or Δόξα του Θεού (Glory of God) Δόξα του Θεό makes little sense. If you want to say glory to God that would be: Δόξα στο Θεό Or Δόξα για τον Θεό Sorry if I sound like a nerd, or if you wrote it like this for a purpose 😅, just though to let you know. ❤️
  4. Ael was ready to also fight and have fun! He would go find these twins and join their club.
  5. The letter reached Thalis as she was closing the door of her house behind her, ready to go on a trip, a few bags were left resting to the side of the house's entrance. The veiled brunette opened the letter with awkward movements, still unused to wearing gloves, a smile blooming on her lips upon reading the happy news. "Oh, that is lovely! I must look for a gift once I return." Thalis chuckled softly and tucked the invitation carefully inside one of the many bags she was taking with her, finally departing Aevos towards her destination.
  6. Thalis sat on her bed, nestled between pillows and blankets that were meant to keep the creeping cold at bay. Athin and Gelune laid close to her, providing their own warmth to the woman. The dropping temperatures had been making life near the borders of the tundra harsh. The cold rendering any writing difficult, forcing the woman to exert herself through magic to complete some of her tasks. Thalis had found herself a little bored and even worse, stressed. The wider events of the mountain and some more personal matters having done their part in wearing her down. As she huddled together with her dogs, Thalis remembered the expedition to The Seventh Gate and the items she had taken with her when she came out, now left to rot in a random barrel inside the woman’s home. When she had first returned from the expedition, Thalis had given little thought to the deck, her attention taken by more pressing matters. With quick steps, meant to carry her to the barrel in question and back to the warmth of her bed as soon as possible, Thalis went and rummaged through its contents looking for anything interesting she could examine and write about. Her hand soon landed on the small package of the tarot deck she had found within the ruins. The Aevosi Tarot wasn’t entirely unfamiliar to Thalis as she took the deck with her, back to the warmth of her bed. An object with a rich history, intrinsically connected to the lands of Aevos. Thalis emptied the contents onto the sheets, examining each card carefully. Eight cards laid before her, each with two individual sides, painted with various pictures. A total of sixteen outcomes. The cards were neatly arranged in their little package: The Lady, The Spire, The Divine, The Dreamer, The Oasis, The Black Anchor, The Storm, and finally, The Mountain. Boredom had been known to push Thalis to many a silly decision as icy blue particles began to dance around the woman’s small form, flowing into thin streams, resembling rivers of snow and ice. The “rivers” made their way to the cards, casting an icy mist upon them. The eight cards lifted in the air and began shuffling themselves before finally resting once again on the bed sheets, the icy mist still covering them. The first card was drawn. A mountain rising high above the clouds was depicted upon it. The clouds bore the colours of the frozen night and a bright star sat upon the mountain’s peak, swirling tendrils of purple emanating from it. The sky behind was painted in mysterious colours of purple and magenta. The woman’s eyebrows raised in surprise. It was the mountain that seemed to be the epicenter of the tremors. It was also a place Thalis had found herself visiting many times during her many years wandering the tundra. Thalis extended a hand to take a second card. Dark waters that rose in high waves ready to drown the broken ships and pull them to the bottom of the ocean, jugged rocks peeking from the abyssal waves. A boat ready to capsize, with one survivor trying to help another while mermaids pulled at their victim’s legs to bring them down to the depths. The Storm. A digit tapped on the card as Thalis looked at the two cards she had drawn with her head tilted in deep thought. It appeared she was getting some rather dark draws and so she simply decided to shuffle the deck and start again. The first card was drawn. The mountain. Right…. The tarot was stored back in its package. Thalis would have to see if someone with more experience could do a proper reading for her. And she would also need to speak to that man… Victor, who claimed to know more about the cards. Perhaps he could do a reading for her. Thalis rose once again from her bed and doned several layers of clothing, preparing to weather the horrid cold and make her way to Alba. While she didn’t know how to read the cards, having a bit of fun with them among friends wouldn’t be a bad idea.
  7. Thalis walked the grounds of Cerulia, the missing ladybugs having taken some of the colour with them. She could feel the ever dropping temperature... and the freezing cold, creeping it's way closer to her home. She would remain and fight, even if it was a losing battle against the world itself. Eternal we march.
  8. The missive reached Thalis as she entered the Bastion of Cerulia, the sound of the raging blizzard could still be heard in the distance, only a few dozen meters away from her home. Her heavy cloak hung frozen stiff on her small form, its fabric no longer providing her any warmth. Thalis had known the tundra to be a fierce place, years of experience and many expeditions within the snowbound lands had proven to her that there was danger to the beauty. And so, when the earth trembled and shook and the blizzards that plagued Ailmere grew fiercer, Thalis took her dogs and donned her heaviest cloak, as she set out to find what had happened. Thalis had once thought herself used to the cold, her many explorations of Ailmere having given her the experience to survive the endless cold, able to travel through the heavy snow with relative ease. And yet… not a few dozen meters away from Cerulia, Thalis found herself against a wind more fierce and freezing than what she had ever felt before. The closer she got to the mountain the colder it became. Like a hand made of ice was reaching within her to grip her heart pushing her to turn back before she froze to death. Now in the warmth of her home, Thalis hung her heavy cloak, the fabric frozen stiff from the ice, in a corner. She took the missive to her desk and sat down with heavy movements to read through it. “A good decision. We will need all the training we can get.” she dipped her head in approval.
  9. The argument had been a terrible one and had left Thalis reeling. After it was all done and her brothers and grandfather were long gone, her house was left empty and Thalis was left alone. She felt like the walls were suffocating her, she couldn’t bear to stay indoors with only her thoughts and her dogs for company. And so she did the one thing she knew to do, she went off into the snowbound lands that she had grown to love, the endless snow and frost having provided her solace in some of her lowest moments. Along with another member of Cerulia, Thalis took her dogs and went off on a hunt, passing through familiar sights and the tall mountain that silently towered over their heads. The hunt was not fruitful, yet Thalis found herself smiling as her dogs ran through the snowy tundra and she conversed with her companion. The snowflakes that peacefully fell from the sky made for an enchanting scene, a reminder of why she loved the endless snow and ice, their presence ever constant and enduring, something that would always be there for her when she needed solace. After the hunt was over and Thalis had relaxed, the two made their way home. Not once did Thalis encounter another soul in the endless tundra. Not a sight of another living being save for her own hunting party and the prey that got away. And only a few hours later… The earth rumbled and the blizzard grew fiercer.
  10. I have a human Chara who is learning magic, alchemy and medicine (and belongs to a funky adoptive family XD) And a high elf vamp :3 Not sure what hook to offer but feel free to dm me for more info and we can figure something out
  11. My first day (after I got whitelisted) was kinda borring. I think I just wandered around the map aimlessly, with little interaction. I lacked the concept of what I was meant to do. This was very different from any gaming experience I had so far and without any obvious minecraft mechanics I lacked a sense of purpose. I did join a settlement back then but there wasn't much activity (it was new and I think we just played at different time) so I didn't have much guidance. Now the first day after I came back was a very diferent experience. Upon joining, the place of origin (Lurin) I had chosen for my character was nowhere to be found. This immediately created a mystery for me to solve. Where was Lurin? I started looking around, on the forums and around the map, until I found out what happened. (I mention the story in a different aswer on this same post.) This gave me a purpose and direction, I had something to do other than aimlessly wander around. In terms of what got me invested, the server is exactly what I want in terms of a multiplayer experience. I've had my slice of life rp, my magical rp, my combat rp, the weird rp that made me think I might be on drugs, you name it. There are so many different and fun interactions to be had. I've found the community to very welcoming and people here are very willing to help and guide new players. It's this welcoming atitude that slowly gave me the courage to become more active, seek out rp, speak out more in ooc (ooc is pretty fun when I'm not rping and just want to hung out) and overall is what got me invested and coming for more.
  12. If I could be an everwinter tree epiphyte I would make a second Chara and go for it!!
  13. I'm having quite a bit of fun on the server so far! I am aware there are issues, perhaps I will encounter them in the future. Baby's first ban when? (not asking for one). I haven't been here long enough to have any big thoughts yet. Joining was very intimidating at first. I didn't understand the concept or the mechanics and the first time I ending up quiting after a couple of days (was also very burnt out with minecraft) Truthfully this is my first experience with roleplaying in general so I was lost on every front ar first and this was very overwhelming. I haven't even learnt all the commands yet but my emoting is improving :) I'd say yes, integrating wasn't particularly hard once I found a community that spoke to me and what wanted for my chara, although I have gone in a slightly different direction from what I expected originally (a more fun direction honestly) I'm looking forward to the new map and getting to explore it. I'm excited to see a lotc map from its beginning, to see it grow and contribute to its development through my role play. I loved epiphytes so much when I read about them!! I also love love love the everwinter trees. This is one of my favorite locations on the map! I would have loved to become an everwinter epiphyte but it's not allowed (why? I want that! Just why? (I'm a voidal mage now so oh well)) I like the Eshtael religion even thought there isn't much lore behind it. My chara worships her actually. Not an event or a person but I wanna see inside the tower where the frost witches are trapped at the very corner of the map (tell me what I need to do Story Team!! I'll do it to take a peek inside!!) Also puddlemancy is supreme!! Enough said :3
  14. First and foremost my home Cerulia!! For context: Back when I first found Lotc and made my persona, while waiting to be whitelisted, I flew around the map as a wandering soul, checking out locations to decide where I wanna start off. Lurin spoke to me on spiritual level. From the location, to the architecture, to the religion, I could picture my chara living there. But I wasn't going to settle there immediately for rp reasons (personal backstory). I got whitelisted and began aimlessly exploring looking for rp (did join a settlement) aaaand quit after a couple of days. I was severely burnt out with the game and I wasn't sure where to start and too intimidated to ask. Onto why I love Cerulia: Eventually the itch to check out the server came back and so I did just that. I joined, began looking around... Lurin was nowhere to be found... Eventually I found out Lurin was annexed and no longer existed (the ruins are there I just didn't find them at the time). This left me in a bit of a bind. I could change my chara's back story a little to be from somewhere else and call it a day. No one knew me. No one would care. I decided "**** it we ball", gathered my courage and made a post explaining my situation. Mika dmed me pretty fast, telling me there was a settlement, dropped me a vague post and then left me to my fate. :) This was sooooo good for so many reasons: 1. It provided me with a purpose and a direction 2. It put me into the mindset of a refugee, risking life and limb to find her people, or what remained of them. I spend two very fun hours scourging both the map and the forums for a clue that would tell me where Cerulia was and I found it! And I got lost! And then I found two guys in a camp who I asked for directions only for them to tell me the place was cursed and they hated it. Back then I didn't know the difference between death and pk and genuinely thought I might die. Long story short, they were nice, took me to Cerulia and told me if they ever saw me again they would kill me. Good stuff XD I could go on and on about why I love this place. It has given me a lot of direction and allowed me to flesh out my chara (even though I do struggle to participate due to time differences) The second group I absolutely love is the Serendipity Amusement Park!! I still remember the feelings of awe and whimsy I felt when I found it. I never thought this would exist on a medieval fantasy server and it's incredible!! The musin are amazing and have gifted me some truly fun rp :) Beyond these two groups, I find myself returning to Haelunor a lot. The library is a big reason for it, any place with a library is a good place. I've found some very fun rp there and people have been quite nice to me icly and oocly. Last but not least is Alba. This one I found more recently while searching for my water Evo teacher and I find myself going back time and time again. I'm always guaranteed to find some fun rp there. It's where I met my adoptive family (icly) and where I met a ghost, got cursed (agreed upon oocly) and thus tried my hand at my own mini storyline/event for the first time. There are other groups I've had small rps with but these are the main ones. I really want for my chara to become a veil watcher and would love to be incorporated into something like the voidal tear in the swamp. I'd love it if someone dmed me and was like "hey I'm making this and since you are a veil watcher maybe you can be the one to find it" or something along those lines. But I do need to get the feat first :3. I would also love to try out being a vampire or an epiphyte, although I'm nowhere near ready to make a second persona. And of course make a secret society or a cult! I'm fine with either :3
  15. I have been surfing the forums, trying to kill time until I finish work and stumbled on AMA. I've been active on the server for nearly 2 months so ask me anything, maybe drop some advise for a relatively new player, sing a song. Happy Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈
  16. Why are you much criticized? Spill the tea for a (relatively) new player! 👀
  17. We're gonna keep on dancing down in west Hollywood 🪩
  18. Happy Pride Month!!!!🏳️‍🌈
  19. Thalis sat hunched over in her little reading corner back in her home in Cerulia, echoes of the battle still ringing in her ears. Athin and Gelune laid beside her, their presence providing a comforting warmth. Her eyes, still red from crying, looked over the sword, laying on a cloth in front of her. Its dark blade was sharp, with silver and crimson veins running through it. The hilt was wrapped in dark leather… Warrin's sword. She had carried the sword with her on the way back while her teacher took care of the body. Together they'd made the trek back to Cerulia. She knew too little of the man, she realised. She didn’t know where his daughter was, or who to pass the blade to. She remembered Warrin learning magic from Edvard. She would pass the blade onto him and see to it that Warrin got a proper burial. Thalis didn’t move from her seat. Athin moved to lay his head on her lap, allowing the girl to pet him, providing a momentary distraction. Thalis closed her eyes, slipping into restless dreams.
  20. OOC ((MC Name: Arianthe22)) ((Discord: Arianthe22 )) ((Timezone: GMT+3 )) IN-CHARACTER What is your name? Thalis Thornfield Why seek membership to the Mages Guild? I wanna learn water evocation. I wil also probs pick up air and life evo to get the veil watcher feat in the future. What arts, if any, do you currently practice? I practice Housemagery and Culimancy and bardmancy, as well as alchemy. What position do you desire to attain upon acceptance? Practicus When should you be contacted for an interview? As soon as possible.
  21. I'm online now and heading towards Norland, I'm not sure if I want to settle there but would love a tour if anyone is available
  22. I'm a bit in the dark regarding exactly what happent with Lurin and the Eshtael religion but I like the idea of being a bit of a refugee who lost her family and is trying to secretly continue worshiping her god while trying to rebuild her life in a safe space. Having said that, if rp takes me to like a secret Eshtaelian order or something of the sort I woundn't mind XD. I think my chara would dislike anything that has to do with the church of the canon as she would view then as responsible for the fall of Lurin (that;s what I've gathered from what I've seen at least). I'm honestly open to anything. I've visited hyspia and found it to be lovely, i would love to maybe start there as a refugee, my character is 18 so not sure if anyone would be able to adopt her, but maybe I could tweak the age to be younger for rp's shake
  23. Thank you, this is very helpful! I've been traveling around the server but since this is my first character (and time roleplaying) I'm lost as to what to do. I'll go check out Norland and Koyo-Kuni. In terms of the Eshtael religion, could you give me some context? Cause it sound like some interesting rping oportunity.
  24. I had my character approved a few months back, a human female named Thalis Thornfield hailing from Lurin and following the Eshtael religion. She was the youngest in her family and following her father's death she took her small inheritance to travel the lands and become a travelling trader. (I'm aware lurin doesn't exist anymore, but not very aware of the lore) Unfortunately, soon afterwands I quit minecraft due to burn out and I'm now ready to get back in. I'm looking for a group to help me get into roleplaying on the server, guide me through the proccess and provide rping opoturnities. I'm available to play on Wendays and Thurdays.
