  1. +1. Even now when I have VIP the metagaming is annoying. It was a fun little experiment to have my chars provided name be different to her nametag - people got real pissy when I told them they can't use the strange box hovering over my head as an excuse to know a character detail like that, let alone have a pink tag try to make me... Roll for deception? Make it easier for non VIPs to change names, or if they really must, apply it to the cheapest rank of VIP.
  2. Happy pride month!

  3. Given that tears require entire events to be dealt with and hollows are incapable of being fixed regardless of events (and usually require a sacrifice if you wanted to clean it to boot) yet does not need permission, yeah I'm happy with this. The hollow in the horde is only so small because that area was no longer owned and the structure was underground after baking for a long time and was unable to be handled as a tear If it's basically set to destroy part of or a majority of a build why WOULDNT you ask for some permission before letting your super secret bomb nuke other people's hard work too? Allow for some interaction at least The amendment came after the horde tear where druids attempted to "seal" the tear. At the time BH sealing just meant to basically encapsulate the tear within a bubble to prevent expansion and ST said no, likely because the tear was too old. But unfortunately the word seal may have gotten the wrong idea across that it mean druids were able to "close" them, which they weren't. After a while of back and forth and nearly several people dying to said tear over an ST determination that was never even set down before, it was blown up and made into a hollow. Shortly after that amendments went through making it so druids are no longer even able to bubble the tears anymore.
  4. hot take but nuggeting is failrp imo because youre purposefully limiting someones play without allowing for proper further roleplay to be conducted between the parties. maiming is one thing, removing all major limbs and possibly also the tongue to completely lock down someones rp, while feasible, feels bad faith

Coldest take imaginable, but the moderation bar of "bad faith" is way lower than it should be. Maiming someone to the extent of being unable to RP should be grounds for an immediate RP void and bad faith strike

i say hot take because it seems more common than it rly should be given the cost it has to the other player without guarantee of further engagement etc. like it SHOULD be cold, but unless youre helping (especially newer) players see that, it's not a very nice way to respect other players' time is all

  5. Something something death has no value but it's fine to hunt people down to the point of making their characters unplayable. If people aren't playing out their branding call it out or report it idk.

We could give death more value but everyone knows bandit RP would abuse it to kill anyone and everyone, lessen it too much and nobody PKs. Maybe the only fix is to add more clauses or encourage people to make terms for their PKs or assist in narratively satisfying ways to end characters.

Ngl, still have to find those murdery bandits people talk about all the time, I'm sure they must exist, but all I've seen myself are like robbers that just... Well rob, which can also lead to fun rp if it's done well. Most deaths, if not all, have been by guards and supposedly good guys that kill over the minimal offense.

PKing should be done for the narrative. I'm not saying pk for every situation, but it should be, imo, something everyone keeps an open mind for. Good rp, even banditry can be good rp, should be a cause to consider it. If it tells a good story, influences other rp, then think about it.

100% agree with this & that's how a majority of my characters have ended.
Be it at Court, getting surprise publicly executed by an antsy Prince or in a Duel to the death over Canonism - they've been fun & while I miss those characters & feel like i could have done more with them. Sometimes lost potential adds 'tragedy' to those character's deaths.

I think a good rule to keep in mind is that the more 'public' the death - the more warranted a PK is. Granted, this can be abused as well, but that's how I usually go about it.

i feel like this is such a non-issue. people should just pk when they feel its a good time to do it for their characters. some are one and done, others choose to come back as they please. i'd hope most would try to do right by their character so i see no problem with people who decide to revive. i personally wouldnt want a system in place with set rules on this when shit just happens that isnt even worth the pk if killed lol

  6. “But think about how it feels when your hands are so cold they go numb. How it's only when they start to thaw out that you realize how much they hurt.” - lauren wolk - ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ The Epiphyte laid on the ground, one horn snapped from some point in the heat of battle, that strange clear sap leaking from the building number of wounds that covered her from fighting between Druid and Darkspawn. “...Lari’onn- if I do’ne make it- take care of Tara and Nenárë, ti?” her voice hoarse and weak, nearing an end with a certainty and acceptance betraying her telltale bite to fight and see the next dawn. She should have known. “You’re going to make it!” Suliin’yuln grits through clenched teeth, knocked off of her feet in kind by the barreling Skelebob, level with her sister who had long been distant, who she had barely spoken with in true lucidity since the parasite in her mind had rid her of memories in full, and had been ripped from root to protect the 'ame's mind and soul. “I told you back then and I’ll say it again - I will help you when I can, if I can. I’m ne letting these freaks steal you away from me when I just got you back.” She should have known. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ “Lari’onn? I- what happened, what did I do?” Teal leaves slowly brown, falling to skin and seat cushion within a hidden cavern of the younger ‘ame’s making - somewhere secret only those she trusted most could live in. The parasite quieted. The pure fear in the woman’s pale eyes that she may have hurt her own sister unknowingly. “...Suliin’?” A hand hovers over Suliin’yuln’s warpick, tentatively over the fox skull that decorated its head… “Your voice changed… was that her speaking?” She should have known. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ A letter slipped silently into the mailbox of a forgotten bedroom below Caerme’onn hall. “You are still my sister through years gone. I wish to see you well in these times.” ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ A wreath of Eucalyptus and Oak, intertwined with sprigs of Sage, Violets and Lily-of-the-Valley and branches of Gladiolus. For a loving sister. A valiant warrior. To ward off evil. To remember one’s brightness in the darkest of times. ≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾ Her cries are endless in the square of the Enclave when the news is revealed to her. Her chest aches, sobs heave one after the other and tears stain the clothes of her sibling who can do naught but cradle her and cry alongside her. Late in the night, after her cradles and coaxes to do little to comfort their youngest sister, she wails and wails where quiet would be the only audience to hear her grief. Her sister was dead. Her first sister. She, an only child who knew of nothing outside her tiny forest home, yet had found siblinghood in a woman she could laugh with, share tales and speak on life with from time to time. Who she could fight alongside and know she was as stalwart as a person could be, a balm to her anxieties and a joyous wonder in dark days. A Caerme’onn to her soul. A woman she would never get the chance to know more of before that thing in her mind would rip away the memories of who they were to one another. A distant face, then a friend, a sister by title then by family. Even for such a short time, what sweet moments they would have by any fire and within any cavern. A healer, a would-be Priestess, a Druid, a daughter and sister both younger and older and an 'ame with a warrior's spirit. ...She never did get to teach her how to make Ikurn’amonn in the traditional method. Never got to hang out with her and their baby sister together. Never stole the tree like she should have when she heard those cries in the Azure Forest, putting her at the helm for her siblings... who was she to take that mantle of someone so good? One of the strongest people she knew and loved and was so proud of was gone, with no song to hold close and remember her by. ≿━━━━༺♡༻━━━━≾ A prayer is set forth to the Mani of Death and Survival, that darkened bird that would watch across the Glade’s graveyard of lost siblings. A blessing bid to watch over her fallen sister, and ensure that what would remain of her and of that viscous plant would be carried safely back to the earth, unsullied by dark magic or parasitism, brought home by the detritivores of his domain. A wreath, freshly re-made and decorated further with new blossoms of pale blue Forget-Me-Nots, placed atop a gravestone to one Xilvyre Caerme’onn, Sister Geyser. Blossoms of White Jasmine, Mandragora, Daisies and Chamomile adorning the top of the stone, candles lit in love and remembrance for as long as they would last upon the grave. ‿︵‿︵ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ ・❉・ ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ‿︵‿︵

  10. I can get behind this if it wasn't for the fact that it makes archiving the hard work of players nigh an impossible task. Additionally, on top of bookshelf bugs, there's the issue where books that are completed but unable to be physically copied through Minecraft's own copy mechanics. If it can't be copied then it has to be ""re/transcribed"" by the player who finds them, with the biggest issue being that the new copy no longer has the name of the original author of the book. In those situations the original should be left as is and any further copies should include a foreword page crediting the original writer, and the item should have an edit token used to detail the name of the original writer at a minimum. On the other hand if you have a public library id assume the information can be copied at any time. If it's private then perhaps report the matter to story team Edit: that or magically find a way to enforce that a player must spent x amount of IRL minutes per X amount of pages in the book.

  13. ez fix, make it an alchemical item that requires an ST sign and cant be stacked or can only have 2-3 made per day. that way youre introducing just as much scarcity as you should to a supposedly special salt without also spamming it incessantly. if you find players getting picked out in overly specific or suspicious reasonings (i.e not testing 10 people but just so happening to test the next corc to enter. doesnt include if a city is on high alert for darkspawn etc and would likely be doing more tests). your scarcity of materials would then be better balanced to prevent spamming whilst also allowing room for people to be more watchful that it isn't metagamed, while still letting the test exist with some effectiveness. * and as others stated, also make it /use otherwise +1 cos.. i think other than aurum gating against certain (usually harmless) darkspawn you cant really prevent anything else without just closing your doors and gates which is a bore
  14. Winter pins the note by her shrine, grateful to hear of another collective meeting. Others might hate Moots, but it is only Grand Moots where multiple minds and open mouths can clash. And she already has someone in mind for nomination. "The first moot since the Order's creation. And the most important one going forward. Ahernal ito."
