  1. what do you mean? which result did you get?
  2. “We sell ballistae too. Perfect for shooting pesky airships out of the sky.”
  3. “Amador-Barclay Aviation will soon be open for business.” Conrad declares.
  4. Take the test and find out. https://forms.gle/fxSkMfikt7y6HqjFA
  5. if crossbows don’t drown out every other weapon, it doesn’t make sense that matchlocks would. in pvp they’d be literally identical, and matchlocks have a number of drawbacks to make them far from ideal in CRP(namely, if you’re standing close enough that you’re in #rp range of the guys you’re fighting – which you basically always will be for obvious reasons – then you’re close enough that you’re going to get stabbed before you’ve had time to actually fire the gun). with that in mind, they’d only add to the variety, rather than diminish it pick whatever century of the medieval era you like, and explain how literally any nation/culture/group in LOTC are like it at all. only humans were ever vaguely medieval, and they haven’t been for a long ass time.
  6. I can do all that? I get to become an Emperor, a Wizard or a Warrior just by owning a Minecraft account? And nothing else? My word, what a time to be alive.
  7. #1 the sunset isn’t it so beautiful and you get to see it every single day incredible
  8. it seems sus because you’ve never seen it happen with a crossbow. because it’s dumb and if someone did it they’d get in trouble for PG and shitty RP why wouldn’t the same apply to guns
  9. *walks up to the man, placing the crossbow inline with his head, he shoots at point blank range, instantly killing him literally the exact same thing except slightly less graphic
  10. More likely the ET monster will just deflect all bullets like they do with everything else. And then get turned into Swiss Cheese by one singular mage.
  11. Randomly accusing me of being hostile for making a completely fair comparison isn’t a counter-argument. Fact of the matter is there’s a thousand different things, things that aren’t even magical, that are completely inexplicable and physics-defying in the server. Gun shots having a slight bit less force because of whatever property of gunpowder you please is literally the least of anyone’s worries.
  12. literally just “the explosion is a bit less strong than irl so the force isn’t strong enough to punch through armour” if you’re concerned about the exact bloody mathematics of it, then please for your own sake do not look into LOTC Flat Earth Theory. your immersion might be irreparably destroyed
  13. not really a contradiction that necessarily matters – you’re never going to be doing large battles in CRP anyway, so firing lines aren’t really gonna be a thing. as for pvp, it’s just whatever’s possibly with a crossbow item.
  14. weird flex to make over minecraft roleplay dude do you dress up in chainmail and swing a sword around irl?
  15. If you’re not going to post your many valid points out of protest, then don’t post at all. Not that hard. Everyone else is trying to actually debate here, you’re just piping up to yell about Oren every 2 seconds and adding nothing. But apparently that’s our fault, we prevented you from making your valid points.
  16. We already have railroads(and we’ve had them since 2011), and some forms of electricity(lights, etc.). The reason we don’t develop cars and planes and AK47s, the reason we didn’t before techlock was a thing, and the reason we won’t ever even if the techlock was completely abolished, is simply because you can’t represent those things in Minecraft. The things we can, we for the most part have already done(we even had flushing toilets and the like in 1300, although they never caught on). Matchlocks won’t ever develop into Kalashnikovs because that’s completely impossible to represent in Minecraft. The big pushers behind guns are humans who PVP for most of their conflicts regardless, so we’re not going to push for weapons that’d be completely impossible to represent in PVP. In CRP a matchlock would be barely stronger than a crossbow and much more unwieldy, as well as slower to use. Same goes for crossbows, yet we’ve CRP’d with those just fine for almost a decade. Look, I think it’s absolutely fair if someone just doesn’t want the kind of setting guns would create. I respect your opinion. The only thing I have an issue with, and I’m not saying you personally are doing this, is when people try to push that opinion as some sort of objective truth when they say the server’s always been “medieval fantasy”, when in reality it’s always had elements from a variety of different time periods, and only a portion of the server has ever actually taken the “medieval” part of that equation seriously at all. The same portion that are now largely pushing for guns, as it happens.
  17. No, actually, pretty much everyone else actually defended their views and made logical arguments. You just screeched about angry human mobs trying to abuse things and told everyone you “wouldn’t repeat” the arguments you never actually gave, and managed to turn it into a ****-slinging fest. And now of course you play the victim. Classic crybullying from you.
  18. How would we abuse them exactly? Are we going to declare CRP wars against everyone?
  19. I was willing to give a little ground to avoid a 5 page argument over when exactly the Middle Ages ended.
  20. Could anyone who’s calling this a “medieval fantasy” server please tell me how their nation is medieval in any way, shape or form? Except for their soldiers having swords, which they had for thousands of years before and hundreds of years after the Middle Ages. The only nations that were ever committed to the medieval theme of the server were Oren and its splinter states over the years, but none of them are medieval at all anymore(well at least some vassals have a vaguely medieval aesthetic, which is more than I can say for any of the other races). We’re being told that we can’t move slightly past medieval tech by people who never RP’d medieval tech/societies at all.
  21. Who said it should? Guns weren’t invented in 1760. Oh and we’ve had railroads and indoor plumbing since 1300 in LOTC btw
  22. Your own video showed that you’re only going to be deflecting crossbow bolts if you’re outside of #s distance. So no, your plate-armour is not deflecting a crossbow bolt in CRP, and you’re not gonna have the reaction speed to dodge one once it’s been fired either. So the “no dodging/blocking” issue applies to them just as much.
  23. You can’t dodge or block a crossbow bolt either. All you can hope is that your armour stops it, which it won’t unless the guy’s literally trying to snipe you from a mile away. Same goes for bows too really, just with a shorter distance(but still within any distance you’re actually gonna be CRPing with anyone in) You’re still not gonna be saved if an arrow or bolt finds itself in one of your vitals(unless the healer uses magic – in which case who’s to say they couldn’t heal a bullet either), so the point is pretty moot if you’re gonna die regardless.
  24. Think you might be conflating an MMO flavour mechanic with the actual setting. The Empire have guns too. Anyway, the fact that WoW and Warhammer are able to balance races with guns with races without guns shows that you can have guns in a medieval fantasy setting without destroying it. Also, like others have pointed out, there is literally nothing medieval about any of the other races’ RP. The fact that you use swords and bows, which were around for a hell of a long time before(and even after) the Middle Ages, doesn’t make you medieval at all. The only race who were ever committed to the medieval setting were the humans, and now only half of them are even vaguely medieval(vaguely because even groups like Haense who try and maintain more of a medieval aesthetic are still not medieval at all anymore in their government system, culture, etc.)
