    Enjoying tedious and repetitive tasks does. Now would you like to tell me where in a furnace's UI it tells you you need to use a hammer? Or did you just get told that and now you're acting like it's so obviously apparent, because making weird IQ flexes in defense of shitty UI is better than just not being a contrarian?

    "you're meant to magically know what all the UI **** means despite it just being a bunch of glass panes and big Xs, and you're meant to magically know to hit each of our 20 different kinds of crafting table with multiple different tools depending on what stage of the process you're at, and you better know how to craft each and every tool" yeah no **** there are recipe things there now, so if you run around for 5 mins, collect the free tools, and read z3mos' 13 point guide guide, you have some idea of how to go about the tedium that's about to await you. but it's still far too much hassle even now, and on the real map you won't have free tools handed to you in a nice little spot where all the recipes are up hanging. good luck keeping new players when the first thing you send them is a 20 point guide explaining how to get stone and then copper, and btw noob you better unlearn all your instincts and knowledge of the game, because despite the fact that the item u right click a crafting table is completely irrelevant everywhere else on minecraft, here you had better use the exactly the right tool for this exact phase of the process--and if you didn't bring a bucket because you didn't realise you'd need one for whatever insane reason they added that requirement for, you're SOL!

    i'm sure i had better ones but the only one that springs to mind rn is when my buds and i were trying to bandito but there was fast travel so no one was on the roads, and obviously mugging ppl in towns was suicide so i made a little MC book written to sound like it was an imperial document, with a posh foreword and a long signature from some knight(edit: caspar de gueux that was it; no idea why i picked him) and i'd just change it to say that we had imperial orders to arrest such-and-such(whichever guy we wanted to mug that day) and we'd show it to any noob guards who were around, and every time they'd let us arrest the guy and take him out of the the city with us must've pulled that trick in riga like 10 times lmao

      I mean the real main reason? Because this server is incredibly white, and furthermore it can be pretty hostile to POC in a lot of places.

       

      Also though, there aren't any established Black cultures really? I know there have been in the past but not at the moment (i see u lil halfling family)

      It's because the used to be called Highland Realm, and it had a section for Norland and each vassal. Oversight, mostly.

    Minecart railroads are already allowed, and always have been. There are some on the map rn. Not that there's anything wrong with flavour lore, but just saying you can go ahead and do this rn if you want.

    wait so is it fast travel or minecarts you want anyway i support trains but you should remove the monthly coal requirement imo. it's just a chore and a hassle. coal isn't expensive or hard to get; the operators will have no trouble always getting enough for very little expense. it'll just be a pain in the ass remembering it and getting onto the ST about it, rather than any real challenge or limitation.

      Huh, never realised Aemon and Daemon were explained. So wtf did Aemon mean or who/what was he/it?

       

      And yeah I didn't mean that Dragur wasn't explicitly a Daemon in lore, just that I saw him being described as an Aengul in some posts because the distinction is rather vague/unknown rn.

       

      I think it's important to create a sustainable framework and then just stick with it for better or worse. I've said this before in much less polite terms ik, but like it's just bad writing to sweep away old lore whenever it's inconvenient or backs us into a corner. I'm glad you've been looking into ancient **** so much because that's a dedication to consistency, but I think Aengudaemons and the Void in particular are prime examples of places where "new management" in the Lore Team(like 501F0Rehead) has historically led to mass cullings and contradictions of old lore to propel us in a new creative direction, even when it wasn't really necessary. Like I get that a lot of the timeit has to happen, but if things were kept more static rather than Flamboyant crusades to delete all lore because **** it, it'd encourage a lot more people to interact with and learn it. At least in my opinion; my derisive view and inattention towards it has always been because of a cynicism that it'll have changed by the time I read it. 

       

      Anyway, enough of a rant and thanks if you got through that, but like please whatever distinctions or whatever you decide upon, try to stick with them no matter what even if they become awkward to write with.

      But yeah I'm all for just acknowledging old stuff. The entire Inferi eventline was wiping the mathic age so we wouldn't be written into a corner by 501s interpretation and enforcement of it. Void is a mess, but the very least thing I'm trying to do is to bring back the older concepts of Aengudaemonica and fusing them with modern ones. A really nice facelift overall, since the current resources are insanely lacking and annoying.

       

      Just scared of writing people into a corner, since I'm not going to be around forever and neither is this team. I want to make it as digestible as possible so future people don't go "lol I don't like this let's scrap it"

       

      good to talk to u when u arent foaming at the mouth because you genuinely have good opinions about **** (some of the time)
