[No need to apply to start a clan. If you are interested in starting a clan you will need; an explaition of how your clan was started (Where are the origins, previous clan members, the reasons for splitting apart from a previous clan or how this clan was created usually with a dwarf doing a great act), have some members to fill your clan (Either by old characters rerolling to be in the clan or finding other new dwarves to find in old clan records)(You need at least 5 clan members to get a clan district along with notoriety of a noble clan), some culture that defines your clan, etc. Also note that this list isn't requirements, there are no restrictions for starting a clan, seeing as it wouldn't make sense on restricting family RP. But if you want the kingdom itself to help out your clan, it would be a good idea to keep the clan structured. Here's a few good examples of clan organisation. http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/65708-the-sternbrew-clan/ http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/65992-the-irongut-clan/ ]

Letters are sent out by the scribes of Kal'Karik. Each member receives this letter. All enlisted in the order must head to Kal'Karik and report to Grimloth Irongut, our new Lord Marshal. -Lord Bazian Grandaxe

[Family members reuniting, it's a beautiful thing. *tear*]

It is possible for clans to have one remaining member, as some families die out. Concerning the marriage of clans, the said clan's female dwarf would change her last name to the male of the clan that numbers are dwindling. Since clans are just families just more structured, the only thing that would require a clan would be at least two members of blood relation or through marriage.

Yes, either by gathering a group of dwarves OOCly and creating new characters all of the same clan, or create come realistic reason why the clan in the making has been spread apart for so long and how it is coming back together.

I didn't make the family tree, talk with Kjell for that. :P

The dwarven clans or "familes" are blood related groups of dwarves. Clans MUST be made of blood related members, very rarely will you find a non blood related family friend in the clan. [so if you want to recruit for your clan, say that you found them in your old family records so they are of your bloodline.] These groups of blood related dwarves from the entirety of the Kingdom of dwarves. The Clans of the dwarves make up the foundation of dwarven society. Everything and all things are centered around the clans, the people. The clans are separated into three groups; noble clans, commoner clans, and elder clans. Elder clans are the most respected clans of the kingdom, descending directly from the sons of Urguan. These days, being of an elder clan holds little perks besides the wealth of the clan. Most power, in dwarven society, is gained through personal endeavours rather than being of blood-line, though members of Elder Clans are often considered to be amongst the nobility of the Kingdom, regardless of their title. Commoner clans are many throughout the kingdom of dwarves. Their numbers variety between different clans as well as holds the bulk of the population in the dwarven kingdom. In order for a commoner clan to respect, the lower clan must repeatedly prove itself to the kingdom and it's dwarves. This would take many years, possibly generations. Exiled clans are clans that have deemed unworthy and dishonorable to live within the halls of Kal'Azgoth or it's surrounding territories. These clans are forced to roam outside of dwarven lands. These members are not allowed to enter the dwarven lands until they either die or have their honor regained. Dead/Inactive clans are clans that were once Elder or Commoner clans but have lack of numbers or willing leaders to lead the clan. These clan threads will not be kept in this subforum but in the Great Library. If, at any time, a clan wishes to be resurrected, a new thread may be made and labeled as a Commoner clan. The old thread will be kept here as a template or reference in case the clan wishes to resurrect itself. To join a clan, approach a clan leader or respected kin, and request that they look into their records for your name. If the clan leader wants you in his clan, he will say that he had found you in his records and invite you to join his kin, sharing the same bloodline. That way, more proper blood related families can be formed that works out in the most convenient way possible. -=Elder Clans=- Goldhand Clan Irongut Clan Grandaxe Clan Starbreaker Clan Stormhammer Clan -=Commoner Clans=- Azaghul Clan Tunnelsmasher Clan Doomforge Clan Strongbrow Clan Irongrinder Clan Thunderfist Clan Grayhammer Clan Mossbeard Clan -=Rebel/Exiled Clans=- -=Dead/Inactive Clans=- Ironbeard Clan Blazebeard Clan Sternbrew Clan Forkbeard Clan Edgehand Clan *Frostbeard Clan* Dawnsworn Clan * = Previous Elder Clan The clan family tree dating back to the original dwarf, Urguan. http://www.familyecho.com/?p=YBKKD&c=urx1zze1s6&f=932061798954485187

"Ah dunnae care, ah will not beh disrespected 'nd called corrupt by none!"
-
Completely enraged, Bazian shouts out. "YAH BLUDDEH RESPECT YAH ELDERS!"
-
Shoots a sharp glace to Bael as he states. "Youn' lads dun involve t'emselves in th' affairs ov ah elder." Turns his attention back to Skippy, still angry and awaiting a swift response.
-
Bazian shouts back. "Recall yah accusations!"
-
Halfway to the gate to the passage to the housing district, Bazian quickly turns his head. "Oi yah lil' beardlin'! Yah 'ave called th' 'onor ov meh 'nd th' Grandaxe Clan inter question! Ah demand t'at yah recall such acusations!" Bazian bellows with rage as he yells back.
-
"Yah kiddin' meh? It'd beh ah bluddeh soign!" His voice gets tempered with impatience. "Yah make decisions ov callin' lads tradors befer consutin' ah elder er sumun t'at does not make rash decisions." Bazian takes a deep breath before speaking his next words, carefully chosen. "Ah lad t'at makes haste wit' 'is choices, shall not receive th' bounty in th' labors ov such choices. Take heed to t'ese words, ah dun want t'is ter 'appen again." Bazian looks sternly at Skippy for a few seconds, and then heads back to his home.

As the decrees have been posted, Bazian summons the Head Rememberancer to transfer these laws from the gods into the Book of Law. On this day, by order of His Holiness, High Prophet of the Brathmordakin, Voice of Yemekar, Arch-Bishop of the Dwarves, Thane of Clan Starbreaker, Kazraden Starbreaker, it is decreed that the area once known as the "Noble District" of the Holy City of Kal'Karik has been seized by the Clergy for use as their Temple, as the the the site has been declared a Holy Place by the High-Prophet. Any Dwarves not given permission by the Clergy or Clan Lords to enter the area shall be arrested and punished for their transgression. On this day, by order of His Holiness, High Prophet of the Brathmordakin, Voice of Yemekar, Arch-Bishop of the Dwarves, Thane of Clan Starbreaker, Kazraden Starbreaker, it is decreed that any Dwarves found revering any Paragon above the Brathmordakin shall give exactly one thousand Minas taxes to the Clergy to apologize for their transgressions. On this day, by order of His Holiness, High Prophet of the Brathmordakin, Voice of Yemekar, Arch-Bishop of the Dwarves, Thane of Clan Starbreaker, Kazraden Starbreaker, it is decreed that any Dwarves found revering any figure besides the Gods, Paragons, and Ancestors shall be burned at the Altar of Anbella, exiled for all time from the Dwarven Race, and their clan fined ten thousand Minas by the clergy if harboring a Heretic. [Just add it to the "Laws of the Kings", but change it to "Dwarven Law".]

~An Official Edict of the Dwarven Clergy~
TEEbrown replied to Arbrek the Ancient's topic in Asulon Roleplay Archive
Bazian approaches the notice posted in Kal'Karik, being the only dwarven hold that has occupancy. He reads over the list while scratching his beard in deep thought. Furrowing his brow at a few of them, he corrects the ones needing correcting. "Blessings of the Brathmordakin be upon you, On this day, by order of His Holiness, High Prophet of the Brathmordakin, Voice of Yemekar, Arch-Bishop of the Dwarves, Thane of Clan Starbreaker, Kazraden Starbreaker, it is decreed that the area once known as the "Noble District" of the Holy City of Kal'Karik has been seized by the Clergy for use as their Temple, as the the the site has been declared a Holy Place by the High-Prophet. On this day, by order of His Holiness, High Prophet of the Brathmordakin, Voice of Yemekar, Arch-Bishop of the Dwarves, Thane of Clan Starbreaker, Kazraden Starbreaker, it is decreed that any Humans, Elves, or Orcs that enter the city are to be burned. Their presence stains the holy grounds of the Brathmordakin, and corrupts the earth. Any guard that allows a member of the inferior race to enter the city without a Clan Lord's permission or that of the Clergy shall be arrested and punished for their transgression. On this day, by order of His Holiness, High Prophet of the Brathmordakin, Voice of Yemekar, Arch-Bishop of the Dwarves, Thane of Clan Starbreaker, Kazraden Starbreaker, it is decreed that the Dwarven Clergy is to be reformed. The positions shall be: ~~~ High-Prophet- Voice of Yemekar, and Prophet for the Brahmordakin as a whole. Absolute head of the Clergy. Bishop- Voice of Urguan, and Prophet for the Paragons as a whole. Second in command of the Clergy, and oversees the selection of new Paragons for consideration of the High-Prophet. Prophet- The voice of one of the Brathmordakin. Oversees all concerns with their chosen Patron, as well as their Patron's Order. Initiate- Member of the Clergy, follows a Patron under their Prophet. ~~~ All decrees are valid as of today. May Brathmordakin and Council's blessings be with you." On this day, by order of His Holiness, High Prophet of the Brathmordakin, Voice of Yemekar, Arch-Bishop of the Dwarves, Thane of Clan Starbreaker, Kazraden Starbreaker, it is decreed that the item once known as the Kal'Varak located in the former Mage Hall of Kal'Karik has been seized by the Clergy for safekeeping and study within their Temple, as the the the item has been declared a Holy Relic by the High-Prophet. Bazian quickly writes a small note below for his explanation. The Kal'Varak cannot be moved, it is impossible. A single touching of the crystal leaves the body limp, for I have seen it before. The Kal'Varak has been put in the care of our Head Remeberancer, Kilgrim Irongut, and is being inspected by our wisest elders. For now it remains. After Bazian finishes his writing, he calls for Kilgrim to write this in the Book of Law, as so stated from the High Prophet. [btw, for future reference, post any laws or decrees in the book of dwarven law found here http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/70059-the-book-of-three/. ] -
Hearing of Skippy shouting, Bazian slowly rests his head in his palm and walks over to Skippy. "Oi, Skippeh. Stop yer foolish shoutin'. Yah shuld talk ter meh befer causin' rumors t'at only started as ah joke. No reason fer all dis shoutin'."
