  1. That's how it was in Aegis though. Sanjezal was a ghost town only used for special occasions. The vast majority of the time the orcs hung out in Sanhar, or at Fort Krug, both right near spawn. It never caused issues back in Aegis, and the issues only seemed to arise once we changed paradigms. That's the big point I've been trying to make. These issues are recent to extended time in Asulon. So logic tells me that we should look back at what made for healthy RP in Aegis, and try to fix those elements lost now. I feel the elements that actually made orc roleplay fun for not only us, but others on the server is now lost. Being able to playfully harass people on the road, and start small conflicts. We never went on full scale warfare in Aegis (or not very often). Most of our roleplay consisted of chasing pinkies out of our land, and going into pinkie land to harass them. Being able to just login and say "Ug, Thore. Lat want to gu punt de stuntees?" Then go mess around in the Dwarf city for 30 minutes to an hour interacting with them. yes, this is what I meant, I'm sorry if that wasn't clear. After I came back Blawharag, Urara, (a few other orcs), and I started trying to go on raids more regularly. Just to spark some conflict. That's when I quickly realized how taxing that would be. The reason our chests are full is because we don't go and do those things. After the 2nd or 3rd raid it was pretty easy to see the consumption rate. That's coupled with the long travel times. Which goes back to my main point. The RP that made LOTC fluid and engaging was that the world felt alive. Being able to just meander around as a small troupe of orcs and just spark some conflict. We can't find other races without investing 30+ minutes, and we couldn't do that on a daily basis (with a large group).
  2. I disagree with Ned. Materialism isn't the sole source of our problems. I firmly stand by the fact that it's because of map size. I have actively tried to do things in the world, but I am physically unable to just login and "do" something of any substance. Before we could login for 30 minutes and start a riot on the Highway with pinkies banging on the gates. In Asulon 30 minutes will get you to spawn and a stack of food spent. The materialism is actually the same as Aegis. Armor is just as important as it was before. Actually, because of how punishing the food system is it makes the map size even worse. In Aegis the increased food depletion wasn't so bad because we didn't move around as much. Asulon is so big we have to move all the time. So the map size actually makes one of the current issues even worse. I would love to go around and poke fun at the other nations (like we did back in Aegis) but I would actually have to deplete our supply of food to accomplish this. That's not fair to the other people that want to venture out and find roleplay. I feel our strength as orcs was always the ability to just start fun conflict at will. Walking into the human city and shoving people around. Farting and spitting at Elves. Petting Dwarves and making fun of their stature. I feel we've been forced into isolation because of the map layout. Because of the server mechanics (not PvP) grinding resources is now actually required to roleplay. We have to grind food so we can actually go participate with the world.
  3. Urara you are a Kheshig Nob.
  4. Thore. That is brilliant. If we build a small village around the Jabbernacks we can add an arena to it.
  5. Even if a player did that, why would your character believe him? I could walk up to the druids right now and say "Shamanism is the proper form of magic. I know for a fact druidism is not the right way to use magic." It doesn't matter because it's my character speaking, and your character listening. The fact that each of the magical sub-groups believes so strongly in their magic just further reinforces the fact that nobody would even believe this. I would actually have more of a problem if somebody went around saying this, and the different magic groups actually believed him in-character. Your character has no reason to believe what this random person is saying, the druids have spent hundreds of years with these beliefs, why would they just suddenly change their ways based on some random hobo walking into their grove and proclaiming that "All magic is the same!" That's like saying you would walk down New York City streets and believe the guy with the cardboard box hanging from his neck screaming.
  6. I agree it doesn't need a new post 100%. The current format you made is awesome. You have it much nicer now. How the command structure works is fairly simplistic. A quote Mogroka gave us a long time ago really helps. "Kheshig are the hands, eyes, and ears of the Wargoth." Our main duty is to ensure their safety and carry out their will. Another term Mogroka has used to descripe Kheshig is similar to Military Police. It's one of the reasons the Kheshig aren't part of the Krughai ranking structure. So if we have a very important mission that requires the aid of a Targoth, it's not out of place to command their aid. We can't just go "Ug! Targoth! Get me sum wata!" But it's not out of turn to command their aid in time of need. It's one of those things that changes situation by situation because of the nature of their business. Sometimes you'll need to work with Targoth to get certain missions done.
  7. I've noticed there was some information lost in translation. The idea isn't to allow fast travel INTO Strigzgoi, just near it. But offer them a plot of land to build an embassy in Strigzgoi, like we had in Sanjezal. With only named people allowed inside. I think the running distance from the current Jabbernack to Strigzgoi is perfectly managable. So maybe we build a small trading hub/meeting area where our current Jabbernacks are?
  8. Like the others have already said. The world is too big, and is one of the reasons I feel the RP is lackluster. You have to expend your entire supply of food and over half of your free time just on traveling. That is a major problem for me, and I think a lot of other players. The world is so big that by the time you've expended all your food and reached your destination you have to log off and take care of responsibilities in real life. Fast travel is the only way we can currently fix this problem.
  9. So I am looking for a list of all the Warnation goblins/engineers. Please post a response, and the forum names of any other goblins you might know. If you're a regular orc (not a goblin) and also partake in engineering/building contraptions then feel free to leave your name down below as well. Once I have all the names I will start a private conversation with you all and give you more information about something Blawharag and I are planning. These plans are a way off, but I need to learn who our goblins/engineers are.
  10. I have to agree with the OOC. Urara, Blawharag, and I were doing a search across Strigzgoi for the "missing" Shurr'dru intestines. A lot of orcs just walked by without even saying anything. I remember even saying "Ug" to a few of them and just getting ignored. I agree that I notice that Teamspeak will be bustling with activity, but people are either just offline or idling. Blawharag and I are currently working on a fun idea that hopefully other players will come and partake in.
  11. Just a few corrections. The Kheshig are not part of the Krughai, they are a separate organization (like the CIA or FBI). Also, under their section the Kheshig are also the personal guard of the Wargoths and Rex as part of their duties. Because of this we can command lower ranks and sometimes even higher ranks if it's for the safety of the Wargoths/Rex. We don't actively command them, or lead them into battle, but if it means the safety of the Rex/Wargoth we can command any rank. The Kheshig has its own ranking structure outside of the Krughai. Kheshig, Kheshig Nob, and Kheshig Warboss. Also, Kheshig Warbosses can recruit people into the Kheshig along with the Wargoth Council/Rex. Kheshig Warbosses pick the recruits, and Kheshig Nobs help train them. They don't have to be a member of the Krughai to be recruited.
  12. Overpowered =/ powergaming. Powergaming is doing something your character can't do, or enforcing actions on another person. Also; it wasn't made by orcs, it was made by the founding creation lore of the server. Humans are the only ones highly susceptible to diseases. It's part of the curse of mortality. Orcs, Elves, and Dwarves are highly resistant to disease. Immune, no, but highly resistant.
  13. You revived a thread over half a month old to backseat moderate?
  14. Team Name: Ghaashblud Team Members: Gragarn (Noahjam325), Urara (dragonhadley), Blawharag (Blawharag)
  15. ((My only major issues with these events is how much ahead planning they require. The world is so big now we can't just go on these spontaneous missions anymore. It was awesome in Aegis because we could just up and do stuff. Now the world is so big you need to plan days/weeks in advance just so you know you have enough time to do something.))
  16. MC NAME: Noahjam325 RP NAME: Gragarn'Gorkil RANK: Kheshig Warboss PVP SKILLS: 100 axe master, 100 lumberjack
  17. Have you tried posting the idea in the Event Proposal section? (I've never used that sections so I don't know all the function of it).
  18. ((Well finals are fast approaching so I know some of our veteran players are just held up. At least among the Kheshig we've been plotting a lot of plans and giving out roles, but most of these are put on hold/slowed down just because of the upcoming finals.))
  19. We have an orc with us raised by Halflings (Jutra). An orc raised by humans would act like a human, but would occasionally fall into bloodlust. Orcs also talk the way they do because of their tusks and biological make up. It is possible for orcs to speak common, but it's more difficult and requires extra care and attention. So an orc being raised by humans would require extra care to speak common. And even then he would likely still have some of his "orcish ascent" (because it's biological and not mental). For instance; most orcs I know that speak common still slip in or misspeak when speaking common just because it's difficult. The bloodlust would just kick in at random times though. Like if you were an orc child in a classroom then you might just go into a bloodlust and start trying to attack/kill those around you. You might be reading him a bed time story and he tries to ring your neck. For instance; Jutra is our farmer and she takes out her bloodlust by butchering the animals on the farm. Also, orcs grow MUCH faster than humans. Orcs finish childhood around age 8, so in 8 years your baby is an adult. So you can't treat an 8 year old orc like an 8 year old human. Imagine trying to teach an 18 year old by putting them into 3rd grade. It is 100% possible to have an orc raised by humans. But you have to be aware of all the consequences that would have, and they would need VERY special care to actually fit into society and develop properly.
  20. <Gragarn is alongside Blawharag, having just translated the note to him> Yub, nub gruk how all deez pinkiez keep makin' id pazt da guards. Time tu teech dema lezzun.
  21. <Keeps his firm station at the door while he addresses the Hanseti/Salvus discussion<> While Salvus am nub dealt wif yet, dey am nub as great a threat az da Hanseti. Lat iz correct wen lat blah uz need tu finish dem, but Hanseti am greater dangur dan Salvuz ryt now. Settin' up planz tu deal wif Hanseti is hoshur ideer ryt now den klompin' da wallz of Salvus. Salvus am at de feet of de world, Hanseti standz fat agh un-apposed ryt diz tik. Wyl Salvus am still defenzless uz kan try agh hinder Hanseti tu. Me nub tink Salvus rize up agh be threat anytick suun. <Turns to Ragnar as Blawharag makes his suggestion.> Me agree. Me tink diz ash am juzt a big glob. Me tink uz giv him scar dat peep dat udder orkz 'im globuurz.
  22. <Quickly runs to the door, blocking Ragnar's escape. His axe quickly ready to slay the potential spy.> Lat skah'd. ((If you'd like to prove that Thore, then you're welcome to challenge him in the arena, with proper in-character reasoning. If nobody challenges his claim, and doesn't defeat him, it becomes truth. Orc Society 101.))
  23. <Gragarn sets down the cactus and props it as a chair. He plants his butt down firmly on the cactus chair> Renatus may nub be klozudz frends, but uz gruk dey have even darker hiztury wif Hanseti. Me tink dat uz nub need full blown 'llianz wif dem. Just da support againzt Hanseti. Dem gruk how much da orkz help'd Hanseti klomp Renatus, so they shud gruk how valuable we is. Enough dat dey help uz klomp Hanseti. Me tink Renatus kud be easily worked wif. We juzt need to poke da beez nezt about der conflict wif Hanseti. Hanseti betray dem tu durin' dis war. <Gragarn leans back, the needles forcing themselves deeper into him. He lets out a low grunt before continuing> Similar ting wif Alras. Dey been betrayed tu. Me tink we kud eezily entice dem wif vengeance, alliez ur nub. Dey bein' alliez juzt make dat eazier. Me tink uz shud try agh learn how far dems reech goez doh, nub juzt fur diz conflict, but future ashez. Me tink uz shud have sum councilz wif dem. Sum in der goi agh sum in owr goi. Me tink tradin' skah bak agh forth wud giv a hosh ideer tu. We can peep how much dey be willin' to send owr way, agh uz send bak in return, wheddur thru skah or klomp'n. Me tink Renatus helb uz againzt Hanseti, even just temporary. If dey show interezt fur future, den we blah bout dat moor. Alraz, we peep into how strong der tiez be, but me tink dey wud helb uz againzt Hanseti eedur way. <Gragarn turns and begins gnawing out a piece of the cactus with his teeth and tusks. He begins chewing on the spiny piece while he continues to talk, bits of green flying out of his mouth> Me agree wif planz againzt Hanseti. We send scouts intu der uzges agh gois ashst. Learn da weaknezzes while uz deal wif Renatus agh Alras. <Gragarn leans forward and begins chewing harder, clearly in deep thought. The bits of green continue to spray as he continues to speak.> We could alzo walk intu der goi and challenge der gothz tu ash on ash honor klompz. Me nub tink deez honorlezz skah'rz wud follow our rulez, but it wud be hosh chanz tu scout goi agh learn da fatnuss of der gothz.
  24. <Comes into the room, dragging a cactus along with him> Wut?
