  1. And? Death is an every day occurrence on the Sands of Krugmar. There's a reason we don't apply death penalty to arena matches (outside of pre-planed circumstances). Part of the fun of being an orc is the freedom to just be silly and "klomp" without having to worry about the consequences of death.
  2. If others orcs aren't paying attention, you solve that the same way orcs solve all their problems. You punch them until they do pay attention.
  3. I counter your "ug" with a "Qhe Tvarja uill vulti dai'aata of jus in qhe deretis Adas!"

  4. You left me a "hello" so I leave you a "hello."

  5. ((Because if there is no standard, we get what Craotor said. All of that is for in-character, and like Blaw said, we get this info OOC. For instance; in-character we can believe whatever we want. I could be a shaman that thinks he talks to Iblees' Grandmother, but in truth they would just be spirits. That doesn't mean my character can't BELIEVE he's talking to Iblees' Grandmother. You're not separating the difference between OOC and IC knowledge. Your personal character can believe it's a Creation Myth, but that doesn't make their belief fact. If we allow players to make up their own creation, and then roleplay using that then we have what Craotor described. There needs to be a standard or everybody can make up anything they want. As multiple people have suggested you can be a cowardly orc, that just means you kill in cowardly ways. So not every orc needs to be a hulking monster, but there is a standard. Also, if the Lore created doesn't count, then we should remove all questions about the Lore from our application. You're saying the lore doesn't affect us because people should be allowed to do whatever they want. So if you believe this, then we should also remove the lore questions from the application because the lore doesn't matter. I would also like to point out that you haven't addressed Blawharag's notice about the App Boards. He brought up that the App team is actually talking about powergaming right now, and are trying to fix the problem you're perpetuating. The definition of powergaming is doing something your character shouldn't be able to do, forcing another person's character to do something, or ignoring your character's flaws. If you're ignoring the curse given to your character, then you're ignoring a flaw and doing something your character shouldn't be able to do. Your character doesn't have to believe the curse exists, but they still need to enact on it. That it where the creativeness of the roleplayer comes in. A good roleplayer can take this flaw and make good and unique characters out of it. I go back to the example that a few people have already made. You can be "kind" or "weak" but that also means the Bloodlust affects you differently. No matter what you should have it. I think another thing not being considered is one of the reasons the curses exist. It's not a tool used to just beat people with. It's a tool to make the races different. If we just removed the curses, then there's no reasons we should even have a race option. The curses are one of the few traits that actually give uniqueness to the different races, when you don't take it into consideration then you're watering down the system and hurting the roleplay of the server. Especially when you decide to enforce that on others (which many do). Without curses we have no need to even make separate races, because they're all just humans with different skin colors. The curses are what allow an Orc living in Laurelin to be different than an elf. It's that little subtle (or sometimes not subtle) difference that makes for fun and unique roleplay. If you play a weak orc living in Laurelin then it dilutes the RP of everybody there. If you roleplay as a weak orc with sporadic violent outbursts, but you are a "stand up" member of the community, then it turns into an interesting event. If we're being allowed to make up lore and ignore the standards set before us, then we need to just remove all the different races. The more this problem gets ignored, the worse it's going to get.))
  6. ((the biggest problem is that because these players are being allowed to powergame it makes them an example for new players, and then further dilutes the canon lore. You can kick and scream all day long, but it is the very definition of powergaming. The more these orcs shove themselves into the limelight the more it becomes an example for new players and then makes them break the lore even further.))
  7. <Hears his brother's voice and wanders over, and can't help but burst out laughing> Dis am ash of de albai goths? Tuupid skah'rs me peep. Da Princess 'eer would rather start War den do a simple liddul 'rena klomp. Har Har Har. Hope latz albai peep wut lats goth am doin. Latz goth would rather war den 'rena klomp. Tuupid. Spill sum of de blud fur me brudder.
  8. ((You have to become an "honorary orc" first. You basically have to become an orc by following the culture and proving your worth over a long period of time. Once you've basically shaken off your old life and have "become" an orc, you would then follow the steps as any other orc would.))
  9. I would be really interested into what you thought that meant.
  10. Yay, philosophy time. An appeal for ugliness is something developed over hundreds of years. I imagine the first reaction of Krug was like "AAAAH! MY FACE!" But after years I imagine the orcish people (descendants) took the ugliness as a sign of pride. Almost like a badge of honor. "We actually tried to stop Ibless and have the scars to prove it; you 'pretty' races didn't do jack." A thousand or so years developing like this means that ugliness becomes a a positive trait for orcs. The reason why we don't consider "ugly" as "pretty" is because we actually have a reference point (the other races).
  11. ((Blaw hit the nail on the head again. It's not the homosexuality. In-fact we've actually had discussions before that orcs can basically mate with whatever they want without care, as long as you can defend it in the arena. All problems are solved by arena battles. If you want to mate with a cactus, and somebody has a problem with that; then they would challenge you to a fight in the arena. If you can't be beaten than you have proved that Krug favors your decision over person X. That is how "right and wrong" are generally decided. The problem with the story is what Blaw highlighted. If you act this way in public (in front of other orcs) the average orc should not hesitate to challenge you to a fight in the arena.))
  12. ((I support the theory that players should be allowed to play however they want. Where I feel the line is crossed is when this negatively affects other people. If you play alone, or with a small group of friends, not bothering anybody else; I don't care how you play. The problem starts to crop up with what Blawharag said. You become a role-model for new players/future orcs. The average orc is not cuddly or friendly. The average orc looks down on other races. The average orc is big and tough. These are all facts from the very lore of Aegis. I understand that orcs are the "fun new kid on the block" and everybody wants to be their own orc. The problem is that if everybody does this, it stops becoming "different" or "special" and becomes the new norm. not only does this degrade orc heritage and lore, but it affects all the other people that actually become orcs so they could be... orcs. You have to remember, you're roleplaying with dozens of other people. Your actions do affect the world, no matter how small.))
  13. ((Time to bust out the KOTOR reference. The orc belief is that if they can't fix it themselves, they didn't deserve to solve it in the first place. At least when dealing with people that are viewed as lesser beings. The humans are viewed as lesser to orcs, and need to prove their strength. There is no honor in making people weaker. If you are walking down the road and a man hands you a quest to remove the wolves invading his home. You are made stronger for defeating these enemies, but you have made the man weaker. You have denied this man the chance to grow in strength. This man is now weaker and will probably get mugged later because he couldn't find the strength to defend himself. You denied him this learning experience. That is the orc mentality of honor. Doing somebody else dirty work for them makes them weaker. Orcs believe honor is in strength, not "good deeds." We aren't humans, even though you seem to keep applying human ideals to them.))

The sword holds the Eye of Thundera, the source of the Thunder Cats' power, which is embedded in the hilt. Though the Mutants damaged the flagship, the power of the Eye drove them back. The damage to the ship means the journey to our original destination was not possible, instead having to journey to "Aegis"; which took much longer than we had anticipated. The eldest of the Thunder Cats, Jaga, volunteered to pilot the ship while the others slept in capsules; however, he died of old age in the process, but not before ensuring we reached our destination safely. The flagship contained the young Lord of the Thunder Cats, Lion-O (me), as well as the Thunder Cats Cheetara, Panthro, Tygra, WilyKit and WilyKat, and Snarf. When the Thunder Cats awoke from their suspended animation on Aegis, I discover that my suspension capsule had slowed rather than stopped my aging, and I am now a child in the body of an adult. Together, the Thunder Cats and the friendly natives of Aegis constructed the "Cat's Lair," our new home and headquarters, but before long, the Minions of Iblees have tracked us down in Aegis. The intrusion of these two alien races upon the world does not go unnoticed, however - the demonic, mummified minion of Iblees, Mumm-Ra, recruits the Mutants to aid him in his campaign to acquire the Eye of Thundera and destroy the Thunder Cats so that his evil might continues to hold sway over Aegis. -Character Age: 20. -Character Appearance: Tall. Tan fur. Tanner claws. Big red mane. Light blue leotard with matching boots. The Sword of Omens with the Eye of Thundera etched inside. -Character Personality: I will defend all of Aegis from the horrors of Iblees and Mumm-ra! -Your ambitions: To defeat Mumm-Ra and Iblees. -Can your character read or write?: Of course. -Can your character mine?: I have servants for that. I am Lord of the Thundercats! -Are you a capable builder?: I already answered this? -Can you wield a sword?: I wield not just any sword, but The Sword of Omens! It is a mighty blade that defeats all evil. This blade also allows me to see into the future and use x-ray texture packs. -Enjoy Farming?: I mentioned my servants already. -Does your character have any special skills?: I am Lord of the Thundercats! -A screenshot of your skin: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/84/20111121230955.png/ -Other Information: What the heck is a Samophlange?
  22. Petyr, the problem isn't the idea itself, it's how you tried to do it. Your "orc" is literally a nobody. Your character (with no status at all) is declaring shamanistic visions. Now if you had stepped into Krugmar and started gathering orcs for "fun raids" on Urguen. Pillaging and looting a few Dwarf settlements; then you would have been building up heat for a fire. This would also have put this no-name character in a good position of respect (through their acts). It would also have made a lot more sense if you went down this route. Your character would be in a position to say "We're easily taking things from the Dwarves, what's stopping us from just marching into their land and taking even more?" The biggest problem is your character is a nobody claiming shamanistic visions, and then outright declaring war. Think of it from an in-character perspective, no sane orc would follow you. My own character has claimed to have visions from Krug himself. But i don't expect other orcs to believe him.
  23. That's not because of age, it's because of culture. Orcs die sooner because they fight more, not because of old age. Your quote only further proves this because it does not specify how they die.
