  1. That's one of the most ridiculous things I've read in a long time. "GM's: LOLOLOLOL We don't care if you consent, big brother says no."
  2. Except most DDOS are controlled by using other peoples computers, just so you don't have to sit and watch it yourself.
  3. I don't have a lot of written lore for Gragarn, so I've been trying to piecemeal some together.
  4. The fact you failed to separate the terms "culture" from "physical properties" scares me. That's EXACTLY what makes Goblin RP interesting from being just a normal orc. You share the exact same culture, but don't have all the physical features of normal orcs. That's been the hallmark of Orc RP ever since I joined the server. Orcs (from the outside looking in) appear to all be the same, but it's the individual roleplay of each orc that makes Orc RP some of the best on the server, and it's exactly why some players just aren't proficient at it.
  5. Now I understand that you made it clear that's just your opinion, and you have every right to have an opinion. But your opinion doesn't hold much water because your analogy directly contradicts what orcs are. As I explained in another post; it makes sense that Germans and Frenchmen aren't all the same. They have cultural and ideological reasons to diverge. Orcs are not German and Frenchmen though. They are not humans. You're using human logic to compare something not human. That's the equivalent of turning to a flock of birds and saying "Why are you going south for the winter? Why not just build a heating system and shelter?" The birds would turn to you and give you the most confused look. Birds don't have that concept. As I explained in another post, an orc raised in the Warnation has no reason to go follow the logic you suggested. That doesn't mean every goblin/orc that goes away from the Warnation is powergaming, don't get me wrong. We have whitewash orcs, and we have the Claw(?) Goblins. There is evidence that there are Orcs/Goblins outside of the Warnation, but notice exactly what I said there. Outside of the Warnation. Orcs outside of the Warnation are not raised in the Warnation, or they were kicked out of the Warnation for their beliefs (like some of the things you listed). So they have legitimate reasons to go against normal Orc behavior. The Goblins present in this thread are trying to become a part of the Warnation, so they need to follow the lore and culture of the Orcs. So your opinion isn't "wrong" per-say, but the Goblins you're describing would not make sense inside the Warnation as a society.
  6. http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/1989/burrow1.png http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/6720/burrow2.png http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/2544/burrow3.png http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/4025/burrow4.png This was the basic design I made back in Aegis. It had mostly stone brick walls/coverings to help prevent sandstorms from deteriorating the structure. It had dark log supports that helped hold up the structure. The logs are fastened together with rivets(iron bars) (as seen in the pictures). The corners had sandstone half-steps that mostly formed an easy way to climb the top structure for easy repairs/maintenance. Below the stone bricks was a stone foundation. The floor was just normal sand. As you can see the main part of the borrow is underground. I didn't dress it up, and just gave a brief idea of what I did. I basically just hollowed out the underside of the structure, with the stone foundation coming down to the basement floor. Each individual orc would then "dress up" this area to their liking. If each goblin had their own burrow like this, you could even form a small tunnel system between them, if you were so inclined.
  7. Okay, next time I am able to get internet faster than 42.5 kbps you will have to show me this. If you're looking for some burrow designs. The ones I made were heavily Warcraft inspired. http://www.wowpedia.org/Orc_burrow
  8. I created orc burrows back in Aegis, but I don't think Mogroka liked them, and they never really caught on. You're free to start there as inspiration, and I'll see if I can get some screenshots.
  9. Like already said. Build it in the city. Space should not become an issue. Like Austin said, if we saw a bunch of goblins we aren't familiar with just building a new settlement near/on our land we would just storm the area and demolish it. Orcs don't like random settlements all over their lands. This very reason caused a lot of (in-character) strife for us in Aegis because a lot of people would just come into the desert go "this is empty" then come back the next day to find their hut(s) in shambles. Every week, or multiple times a week we would just do clean sweeps of the desert, to keep it the way we like it. The OOC point of not doing it means the orcs/playerbase are less spread out. By becoming part of the city you are bringing new RP directly into orc society, instead of building it away from orc society. The in-character reason is that we don't like random settlements all over our land. As I stated above we routinely lead bands of orcs to actually just go out into the Krugmar Desert and just purge the land of structures. Also, if this is your thinking then you don't understand orcish culture at all. Orcs are not humans. We are not just different biologically, but culturally. There are very few reasons a Krugmar raised orc would want to start a new settlement in the desert. I am using the term orc for the entire race (remember goblins are a sub-race, they are still orcs). Orcs have always been about unity. We are not humans. Humans have the highest population, so they have cultural and economical reasons to want to expand and go off and create new settlements. Humans having lots of little settlements around their land is part of human culture. Orcs are not humans, they do not follow human culture. Orcs are about staying united as a nation and fighting force. That's why our government is more like a military chain of command. There is no good in-character reason I can think of as to why a Krugmar raised orc would want to start a new settlement.
  10. Blawharag hit the nail on the head. Orcs don't just rely on strength, they are trained from birth on the art of war. They are not just "herp der me swing axe." We actually have RP training sessions where we discuss tactics and practice on each other and target dummies. The drawback of the orcs are they are not very good at much else. Do you know how many times Gragarn has died because of his honor and unwillingness to cheat? Once back in Aegis (during Halloween) I saw this house all dressed up for the holiday. I walked up to the door and was going to ask about all of the decorations. He saw an orc with diamond weapons and iron armor and instantly thought I was hostile (no surprises here). So he opened his window and threatened me with a bow. As soon as I saw his threat I challenged him to a duel. He then proceeded to try and just shoot me through the window (I ducked around the corner). So he slapped on some diamond armor and said "Last Warning." I knew for a fact I would lose, he had diamond armor, I just had iron. But Gragarn's orcish honor would not allow him to back down from a fight. So Gragarn just taunted him to come out, and I died. Even more recently we got into a fight with the Dwarves near the Cloud Temple. We screamed and yelled until we challenge them to 1 v 1 honor klomp. Their champion vs. our champion. Now we would have absolutely won, so one of the Dwarves used a fishing pole to help damage/pull our champion. We saw them cheat and because they broke the rules of the honor klomp we had a stand off. The dwarves outnumbered us almost 3 to 1. But we didn't say to ourselves "How do we escape this?" No, we said "How many of them can we take down with us?" So we fought to the death and lost, trying to take as many of them as we could. If you're just going toe to toe with an orc in single combat you shouldn't win. You are powergaming if you say you could. That's what makes fighting orcs different from fighting Humans, Dwarves, and Elves. We are trained from birth in the art of war (both lorewise and actually in RP). So you have to use tactics to beat us. The downside is that we go through food faster (I at least try and RP it), and have very few people who can be farmers. We only have 1 farming orc. Even that farming orc still has to deal with the bloodlust curse like the rest of us. Like Blawharag said, Orcs are the martial race. That is our buff. Our downside is that we're bad at almost everything else. We currently have 2 factions against us with only one real ally, and even that isn't a very strong pact (in my opinion). We're not propserous traders. We don't live posh lifestyle. We require large sums of foods. Saying we have no downsides is just flat out wrong.
  11. Basic genetics kind of disagrees with you. The possibility of a Goblin being born a "runt" is absolutely possible. Or a Goblin being born with "mental deficiencies" is also possible. A female orc can birth a Goblin like this. The problem is that Goblin would most likely be killed before it even reached adulthood (7 years old). The orcs wouldn't know it had these issues until it started training. Once the orcs know the Goblin has these issues. When they see him not growing any bigger, when they see him failing at basic Goblin roles as a child. Then they would cull him for weakness.
  12. As has been stated a thousand times over. The Claw Family IS the exception. They have carved out their lore. The issue is that if you're a Warnation Goblin it would be the equivalent of powergaming to say you could just survive Warnation lifestyle as the Goblins mentioned in the original post. Mogroka isn't saying "This kind of Goblin can't exist because I said so" there are specific lore reasons developed almost a year ago now why a Goblin like that wouldn't survive in the Warnation. Goblins that are born like this don't live in the Warnation. They go off and have their own life outside of normal orc culture because they can't survive in orc culture. There's nothing inherently wrong with these Goblins existing, it's them existing within the Warnation. Again; as already talked about there is "lore" for other kinds of Goblins, just not within the Warnation.
  13. MC NAME: Noahjam325 RP NAME:Kheshig Warboss Gragarn'Gorkil CLAN & HOW YOU ARE RELATED, IF YOU'RE ADOPTED WRITE ADOPTED: Gorkil. Adopted by Mogroka'Gorkil LIFEMATE: Kheshig Nob Urara'Gorkil (deceased) CHILDREN: N/A SIBLINGS: Blawharag, Gromgok, Varrag (Mogroka had a metric ton of children I can't remember them all).
  14. ((The issue is that you're both Gorkils. When a Wargoth challenges the Rex, they are challenging for their clan. The Gorkil Wargoth became Rex. You are the Gorkil seat while Rex. That's why nobody "became" Wargoth while you were Rex, because you were already filling the Wargoth seat for Gorkil by being Rex.))
  15. Wuv woo wif wial-wup.

  16. Leaving comments on your page using dial-up internet!

  17. ((I think it would be entertaining roleplay if you left the time. Then the orcs retliate at THEIR time. Then it becomes a back and forth conflict where both parties finally say (in character of course) "Wait wait wait. We just keep swapping. This isn't working."))
  18. I'm moving soon and the place I'm moving to doesn't have high speed internet. This basically means that my LOTC time will be drastically cut. I can probably login for RP events (and will try to) but I won't be around as much and there is no way I'll be able to participate in any battles.
  19. Gragarn grunts, waiting for all the other orcs to leave the burning ceremony. When all but he and Blawharag remained he approached the charred bones that lay in front of them. He looks over to his brother with a stern gaze, and then back to the remains. He reaches his hand forward and begins to feel the bones. "Still hot." Blawharag steps forward and places a hand on his soldier. "Me can sense id. Da presenze uf Gilgamesh." Gragarn quickly spins around to face his brother. "Da same ash?" Blawharag nods to his brother. Gragarn continues running his hands through the bones. He clutches them into his hands and quickly begins stuffing them into the satchel hanging next to him. "Then uz klomp 'im." Gragarn begins walking away when he looks over the weapon Thore took. "Amal is 'ur luzk?" Blawharag turns to face Gragarn. "Wut?" "Urara's luzk." "She nub Ligz'r?" "Diz ashst tick me peep 'ur uze o'lig. Thore only brought o'lig bak wif 'ur corpze." Gragarn looks over towards the tombs before turning back around. He grunts to himself and continues walking towards their hut with Blawharag in tow.
  20. <Looks over, nodding to Blawharag, knowing he has the door covered. He helps the other Kheshig round up the trouble makers and corral them outside the Palace. He returns to his post by the door and glares through the eye-slits in his helmet at the trouble makers. Giving a warning snort>
  21. That's really weird, well that should be changing.
  22. Just because you don't see me, doesn't mean I haven't logged in :P.
  23. Exactly; this is something that would be handled in-game at the time of happening, and shouldn't be discussed on the forums, especially not in a Warclaim.
