Blawharag hit the nail on the head. Orcs don't just rely on strength, they are trained from birth on the art of war. They are not just "herp der me swing axe." We actually have RP training sessions where we discuss tactics and practice on each other and target dummies. The drawback of the orcs are they are not very good at much else. Do you know how many times Gragarn has died because of his honor and unwillingness to cheat? Once back in Aegis (during Halloween) I saw this house all dressed up for the holiday. I walked up to the door and was going to ask about all of the decorations. He saw an orc with diamond weapons and iron armor and instantly thought I was hostile (no surprises here). So he opened his window and threatened me with a bow. As soon as I saw his threat I challenged him to a duel. He then proceeded to try and just shoot me through the window (I ducked around the corner). So he slapped on some diamond armor and said "Last Warning." I knew for a fact I would lose, he had diamond armor, I just had iron. But Gragarn's orcish honor would not allow him to back down from a fight. So Gragarn just taunted him to come out, and I died.
Even more recently we got into a fight with the Dwarves near the Cloud Temple. We screamed and yelled until we challenge them to 1 v 1 honor klomp. Their champion vs. our champion. Now we would have absolutely won, so one of the Dwarves used a fishing pole to help damage/pull our champion. We saw them cheat and because they broke the rules of the honor klomp we had a stand off. The dwarves outnumbered us almost 3 to 1. But we didn't say to ourselves "How do we escape this?" No, we said "How many of them can we take down with us?" So we fought to the death and lost, trying to take as many of them as we could.
If you're just going toe to toe with an orc in single combat you shouldn't win. You are powergaming if you say you could. That's what makes fighting orcs different from fighting Humans, Dwarves, and Elves. We are trained from birth in the art of war (both lorewise and actually in RP). So you have to use tactics to beat us. The downside is that we go through food faster (I at least try and RP it), and have very few people who can be farmers. We only have 1 farming orc. Even that farming orc still has to deal with the bloodlust curse like the rest of us.
Like Blawharag said, Orcs are the martial race. That is our buff. Our downside is that we're bad at almost everything else. We currently have 2 factions against us with only one real ally, and even that isn't a very strong pact (in my opinion). We're not propserous traders. We don't live posh lifestyle. We require large sums of foods. Saying we have no downsides is just flat out wrong.
