  2. "What a pity," offers the Emperor, John, shuffling through a stack of dire missives, "Lord Foltest...a man to be admired, yes, without any doubt on that. Lord Rothesay, see to it that he's provided with a funeral for a man befitting his position."
  3. I can definitely see having an excess of magics as being an issue of balance and realism. Runesmithing is capable of a wide range of things, as is. Regarding elements and archetypes, to my mind enchanters are required to learn the magics relevant to a enchantment if they want to enchant accordingly. However, as runesmiths are exempt from that requirement, having access to a whole plethora of other magics provides for the possibility of circumstances arising which border on the ridiculous and overpowered. Sorry, but what does this have to do with anything? Are you going to provide something of any substance there or just make some 'witty' one-liner?
  4. Hermann von Locklear, the former Urguanite mercenary now serving in General Josef's army, begins to strum his mandolin and sing an enlightened tune, greatly enthused by the idea of forcibly liberating his former masters from dwarven pederasty. Well, I just heard the news today, It seems my life is going to change, I close my eyes, begin to pray, Then tears of joy stream down my face. With arms wide open, under the sunlight, Welcome to this place, I'll show you everything, With arms wide open. With arms wide open. Well, I don't know, if I'm ready, To be the man, I have to be, I'll take a breath, I'll take her by my side, We stand in awe, we've created life.
  5. The Emperor coughs into his sleeve amid his strategy tables in the frontline camp, quickly sending a missive ordering the Baron of Franzenburg to sign the document on his behalf while he campaigns in the South with the Rothesay brothers.
  6. As the Fat Controller once said (And as your signature so displays), you are wrong. 1.) You've communicated nothing to me about any of this. 2.) Your side are on the defensive on this war, and don't have leave to make random warclaims for that reason. I'm not even going to go into the intricacies of the situation if that **** was permitted. 3.) This is at the same time as an existing warclaim, and ours was posted first, thereby gaining precedence. First come, first served. So in the words of Sigismund Dijkstra, no deal. 4.) Moreover, a skirmish is required before any conquest to obtain initiative. 5.) You're not even a nation, Narthok. You're a guild. I don't even know why I have to justify you not being able to WC us for this reason - everything is just impossible with you. If the powers at be would be so kind as to lock this topic.
  7. “Kill 'em all, boys!” -Josef Vladov, General of the Imperial Army, dated 1537, commanding the Siege of Rhewengrad With their victory in the capture of Fort Rhewengrad, the Imperial armies, not at all content in that meagre conquest, march forth into the Urguanite territory dubbed the Valley of Flowers. Appointing a substantial garrison to maintain and repair this newly obtained Orenian possession, the collective of Imperial soldiers consisting of both man and elf alike trample the tundra underfoot as their columns ascend into the great ravine, their heavy siege engines and Vandorian mercenaries in tow. The men bang their pikes, glaives and swords against their tower shields to chants of 'God protect Emperor John!', 'God save General Josef!' and most compellingly 'Rothesay, Rothesay, Rothesay!'. ______________________________ WARCLAIM DETAILS TYPE OF BATTLE: Siege TIME: Saturday the 19th of December, 10pm GMT, 5pm EST, 2pm PST ATTACKERS: The Holy Orenian Empire and allied forces DEFENDERS: The Kingdom of Urguan and allied forces LOCATION: The stronghold of Khro'Nogaak TERMS OF VICTORY: VICTORY FOR ATTACKERS- If the defenders are killed, or if their keep is taken, or if they are forced into an underground bunker. 8. The Emperor coughs as he reads the proclamation, taking up a quill and inkpot and penning a missive to Frederick Secundus. It would read as follows: "To Our beloved Friend and Cousin Frederick of Vandoria, We greet you most humbly from the war-front, and commend you most earnestly on your wise proclamation. To have such malcontents foment sedition in one's realm offends Our person incurably so, and so to combat them with both the fervent determination any ruler must maintain, made manifest in this Most Honorable Proclamation, invigorates Us with joy. Let it be known far, wide, and by all, that We hereby declare Frederick of Vandoria to be Our loyal and trusted friend, and to be loved by Us, thus rendering all who cause him grief liable to incur Our Imperial Wrath. With love, Johannes Imperator."

  11. “If it were done when ‘tis done, then ‘twere well it were done quickly, But that this blow might be the be all and end all, here.” -Unknown, a translation commonly attributed to Rex Ubba’Ugluk the Conqueror With the dwarven forces deployed in the Battle of White Mountain routed, the Holy Orenian Empire has pressed forward unto the fortress of Rhewengrad. Henry of Rothesay, Imperial Fieldmarshal, has taken command of the impending siege and by Imperial order, continues the campaign against the Kingdom of Urguan for their transgressions against mankind. Aiding him are scores of shipments from the east; tons of wheat, barley, timber, iron, cloth, and other wartime commodities flood the Outremer through Luciensport and Erochland to fund the invasion. Imperial soldiers began to dig trenches deep into the earth, erect makeshift palisades, haul siege weapons, and establish a formidable camp to hold the grounds gained in their victory. As outriders and skirmishers fight another between the Fieldmarshal’s post and the dwarven garrison, a most bloody assault seems inevitable by the turn of the year. “Gentlemen soldiers,” proclaimed the Emperor in his address to the encamped forces, comprised of various men-at-arms, conscripts, knights, arbalests, landsknechts, artillerists and camp followers alike, “We are here in the south to do a solemn duty, a burden that has always fallen to mankind above all - to liberate the people of Outremer from the Urguanite yoke in the name of the sword and the cross. I remember when they had a monarch with some legitimacy, a good-hearted dwarf of steadfast moral character. My friend and ally Uldar, whom alone I would have entrusted to reform them from their profligate ways, they betrayed. For that itself is enough to warrant death, not to mention the hundreds of other slights they have inflicted upon us.” John pauses for a moment, holding aloft his broadsword to the sky. “The halfmen will never cease their intrigues, not until they have been taught a steadfast lesson, and you my men shall be the ones to finally teach it to them after nigh upon a century of campaigning! They started this war, and now we shall give them what they deserve.” ______________________________ WARCLAIM DETAILS TYPE OF BATTLE: Siege TIME: Saturday the 12th of December, 10pm GMT, 5pm EST, 2pm PST ATTACKERS: The Holy Orenian Empire and allied forces DEFENDERS: The Kingdom of Urguan and allied forces LOCATION: The stronghold of Rhewengrad TERMS OF VICTORY: VICTORY FOR ATTACKERS- If the defenders are killed, or if their keep is taken, or if they are forced into an underground bunker. 12. 12th of the Sun’s Smile, 1536, on the day of Saint Edmond The wind of the southern mountains sliced through an open field; the site of the Battle of White Mountain, and the very earth trembled with the march of the Imperial Army. In borderland raids, they had come in their great raider hordes. Dunamite steppe-men and dwarven partisans alike had put to the sword the good, industrious folk of the Empire, killing man, woman and child indiscriminately. “Difficult measures call for us to be ruthless, men,” offered the Emperor before embarking on the southern campaign against those who had first started this war, and had now seen the tide of fortune turned against them, “To set an example to the rabble.” Under the Fieldmarshal of the Empire’s armies, the Emperor’s cousin Henry of Rothesay, the Imperial Army and its allied forces had heartily put down the mass of Urguanite defenders as they marched from Erochland into the dwarven realm. “This will be the day,” Rothesay had said to his gentlemen soldiers before the final charge, “That we put down this rabid dog for good! Exalted Godfrey and Sigismund are with us now, men!” And like that, to the clarion call of ‘Charge!’ and ‘God protect the Emperor!’, the Imperial infantrymen, arbalests, landsknechts and conscripts alike surged across the tundra at the base of the great White Mountain. Following Rothesay’s directive, the recently won Rex of the Iron Uzg, Ubba’Ugluk, charged forth upon the rightmost flank like some great beast, the goblinoid spearmen pushing the line in droves as the fouler Uruks swept through like a tide of death, slaughtering all regardless of colors, ears, tusks, or stature. Unable to resist, the Urguanite ranks were broken, with the dwarf the Emperor had priorly referred to as ‘that great wheelwright’, Grand King Rhewen, being taken away by his chamberlains on a stretcher, grievously wounded. Ser Philly Fitzroy, Ser Athirius Roke and the Tarchar mercenary Giray Bey would be the ones to strike true through the Mubarizun Guard of the Caliph, inscribing onto him the fear of Kaedreni steel within the hands of the red-blooded men of Saint Thomas. Ser Markus Aveere and the Privy Councillor, Vespasian de Sola, did away expertly with the opposing vanguard in a bloody pitched battle, despite sustaining injuries themselves. The Carnatian levymen under the Count of Kvaz, the Istriots under the Imperial valido Arthur Roswell, the Savoyard greatswords under the Baron of Rennes, the Rigan highlanders under the Duke of Courland and the mercenary forces of Hallowvale under King Frederick of Vandoria all gutted dwarves left and right to no great cost, turning the tundra red. Immediately thereafter, the wood elven longbowmen of Laurelin rained down a volley upon the Urguanite legion. Death had made itself manifest in their barbed arrows as countless scores of dwarven soldiers were impaled in the slaughter, with Prince Tristin of Tresery and Sohaer Laethis of Haelun’or slicing through the Urguanite ranks with their glaives - all the while the Count of Krinfrid and his Kaedreni artillerists swiftly dispatched more of the Grand King’s men with relative ease. With their rightmost lines utterly broken by this combined assault of the various nonhuman auxilaries and their leftmost under pressure from the bulk of the Imperial Army, their commanders dead or incapacitated, the dwarves were forced into a hasty retreat up the slopes of the eponymous White Mountain. Their Dunamite allies under the brigand Richard Revlis were similarly annihilated, without quarter. And with that, the Battle of White Mountain was won for the Empire and her allies. The glaciers ran red with the blood of four-score-thousand dwarves as the prisoners-of-war were beheaded on Emperor John’s order, the sovereign of man surrounded by his personal guard in the warzone. “To build a better world than we have yet seen,” commented the triumphant Henry of Rothesay, clutching his baton of office in his gloved hands as the Emperor pinned upon his lapel the Imperial Order of Merit, “A victory for the chosen people!”
  13. Proclamation of Appointment for Henry of Rothesay, 1536 Issued and Confirmed by His Imperial Majesty the Holy Orenian Emperor John I Frederick, 14th of Snow’s Maiden, 1536 TO OUR BELOVED SUBJECTS, WE do hereby decree the appointment of Henry of the House of Horen-Rothesay to the wartime rank of Fieldmarshal of the Holy Orenian Empire. In the service to Our Crown, he is duly charged to have overall and active command of the forces of the Imperial State Army, the various ducal levies, Erochlander and Brotherhood provincial militiamen, Laurelin auxiliaries and municipal City Watch, in their totality, as an overall commander-in-chief, with authority second only to the person of the Crown in the prosecution of war in the southern theater. WE do hereby convey upon him the Fieldmarshal’s baton as a symbol of his all-encompassing authority over the Imperial forces, and entrust him to both manage, plan and administrate the Imperial campaign against that great catamite, Rhewen Frostbeard, and his tribal government, to manage the defense of the Imperial fortresses in both provincial Outremer and the Heartlands, as well as to be the primary leader in assaults, raids or any other troop movements. IN NOMINE DEI, His Imperial Majesty John I Frederick of the House of Horen, by the Grace of GOD, Holy Orenian Emperor and rightful Emperor of Aeldin, forever August, Apostolic King in Oren, of Savoy, Westphalia, Kaedrin, Haense, Renatus and Salvus, Defender of the Faith, Grand Duke of Kaedrin, Duke of the Crownlands, Carimea, Levonia, Erochland, Kingston and Leone, Margrave of Greater Kreden, Count of Felsen, Louvain, Beauclair, Wett and Metz, Sovereign of Humanity and Protector of the Elves, etcetera.
  14. ((Hahah no sorry. RP =/= OOC region politicking, as established by this precedent: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/135345-ban-report-on-charles_grimlie-and-jordan1921/ If region ownership was as sacrosanct and inalienable as you're claiming, then Redbench_ would still be owner of your entire region, as you never warclaimed to get it back and it was singularly in his hands. Fortunately for you then and in this situation us, actual RP as opposed to entirely OOC regionry has prevailed in the eyes of the powers that be, and the castle's ours. Character smearing my boy ElkenElk further is not helping your point. Besides, declaring RP 'invalid' on the forums? Who do you think you are hahaha))
  15. In return, and as a sign of Our august graciousness, We do privilege their head to levy law and taxes upon their vassals. 16. The Emperor takes up the letter in his private study, scanning over it briefly. He gives a nod of acknowledgement to the Count of Pompourelia who stands with him in the chamber, placing the declaration firmly atop his desk. "You've done remarkably, Lord Roswell. This is but the first of many who see the light. Truly, God is with us now. Tell the Castellan of Esterwick that I accept his fealty, and shall be sending an Imperial garrison south to bolster the fort's defense against that legion of scullions."
  17. "You were more likable when you were dead," offers the unscrupulous Urguanite mercenary Hermann von Locklear with a rather throaty chuckle.
  18. ACT OF ABJURATION, 1535 WE, the Imperial Crown of Oren and the Pontificate of GOD, do solemnly declare all and every subject of the entity known as the ‘Grand Kingdom of Urguan’ to be free of their oaths to that malignant polity. We do hence, with Our power invested in Us by GOD, abjure every citizen, freeholder, slave or other indentured vassal, regardless of their race and unequivocally, to the full extent, from their oaths and bindings to the illegitimate government of Urguan, declaring them free of any obligation or service to their former masters. WE, the Imperial Crown of Oren and the Pontificate of GOD, do declare that with this newfound freedom of all its subjects, the government of Urguan is illegitimate, tyrannical, despotic, damnable and disreputable. We do declare the reign of that abominable hierophant and wheelwright, Rhewen Frostbeard, to be null, void, invalid, iniquitous, unjust, damnable, reprobate, inane, and his reign to be empty of both meaning and effect for all of time. WE, the Imperial Crown of Oren and the Pontificate of GOD, do declare it the personal mission of GOD to liberate those people under the yoke of this illegitimate realm, starting with the complete and total overthrow of the current Urguanite government. WE, the Imperial Crown of Oren and the Pontificate of GOD, do hereby invite the vassals and freeholders of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan to, with the aforementioned abjuration of your oaths to that state, pledge your fealty to His Imperial Majesty and through him GOD and be spared from the wrath and terrors of the great war. All peoples will be accepted, embraced by the light as brothers. WE, the Imperial Crown of Oren and the Pontificate of GOD, do promise categorical safe conduct to all those who would swear beneath Our Most Holy Authority and transfer their persons to Our service. We do hence encourage them to do so, for the safety of their own persons, for while those who take heed of this venerable act issued by the just and undeniable authority of the personages of JOHANNES PRIMVS and EVERARDVS SECVNDVS shall be promised honorable treatment, retaining their lands, titles and wealth at a far diminished taxation rate, those who deny it shall be yielded no quarter. DEUS MAGNUS, SIGNED 15TH OF THE DEEP COLD, 1535 His Imperial Majesty JOHN I FREDERICK of the House of Horen, by the Grace of GOD, Holy Orenian Emperor and rightful Emperor of Aeldin, forever August, Apostolic King in Oren, of Savoy, Westphalia, Kaedrin, Haense, Renatus and Salvus, Defender of the Faith, Grand Duke of Kaedrin, Duke of the Crownlands, Carimea, Erochland, Kingston and Leone, Margrave of Greater Kreden, Count of Felsen, Louvain, Beauclair, Wett and Metz, Sovereign of Humanity and Protector of the Elves, etcetera. His Holiness EVERARD II, High Pontiff of the Church of the Canon, Archbishop of Visigia, Prince-Bishop of Luciensport, Huss, and Dibley, Successor of the High Priesthood of the Church, Supreme Pontiff of the Church of True Faith, Keeper of the Canon, High Servant to the Exalted's Testaments, Caretaker to the Islanders of Cordobe, Humble Servant of the Faithful and Vicar of God.
  19. I have a feeling that he's right, so I've edited the main topic to be on Sunday the 6th of December, as was originally intended. It seems that the error does indeed lie in the 'Dem Orcs' warclaim (Which I attempted to plan this warclaim around) which says Saturday the 6th when in fact it should be Saturday the 5th.
  20. Shouldn't be on the Monday if it is there is an error, it is intended to be on the Sunday immediately 24 hours after the orc warclaim on the Saturday, (which is on Saturday the 6th apparently) however as I am not very good with timezones as I am Bulgarian, feel free to point out what the date should be. Furthermore, to my mind according to the warclaim rules it's only necessary to siege progressively based on regions. On survey (And if you are sneaky and build more of these now, that's really ****-tier and we will figure it out) this is the setup of fortresses before the capital. Which leaves a single fortress between us and your capital, since the once with the big X on it does not have its own individual region. A staff member feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but this means that should we be victorious in this Battle for White Mountain, the terms should be amended to facilitate a subsequent siege of the small fortress with the pale green circle around it instead of the capital directly, and then immediately after (If that is captured) a skirmish which would ultimately lead towards the assault of the capital would then be permitted.
  21. “The only good dwarf is a dead dwarf.” -The Duke of Savoy to Emperor Robert I, circa 1466 “Midgor Ireheart, the Great Chieftain of the Urguanites, is dead, sire,” offered Lord Adrian of Rothesay from within the shadows of the Holy Orenian Emperor’s private study, his hands gently clasped onto the silver tip of his cane. “The reports say he choked to death on his own hemorrhaging blood.” “God’s will,” retorted Emperor John the First, taking a deep bite into the apricot he had before him, the stone fruit’s sweet juice running down his chin and into his expertly curled moustachios. He wiped his mouth with the starched white cloth adeptly provided by his personal chamberlain, Filipe. “That scullion Ireheart and his persistent banditry drove my capital into the ground. Without even a declaration of war, those nefarious people - if you can call them people - slew man, woman and child indiscriminately in the hopes that guerilla warfare would be our undoing.” “...Yet it was not; indeed, the Urguanite way of impertinence and deceit has gone on unpunished for far too long. Your Majesty, my agents have perused the candidates for the throne. They are but weaklings, catchpoles and pederasts, all of them,” retorted Edward, Marquis of Guise, the Emperor’s bastard brother. “In fact, the hierophant of their pagan cult, one Hogarth Irongut, happens to be the chief of these sodomitic pederasts, keeping elven eunuchs as lovers.” “What effrontery!” scoffed the sovereign of man in response as a knock resounded on the door to his office. The chamberlain opened it to reveal the figure of Henry of Rothesay, the Archchancellor’s younger brother and a promising fieldmarshal tested in warfare against the Fenlandic menace. The younger Rothesay doffed his helm and bowed low before the Emperor, “Your Imperial Majesty,” quickly passing his lips, “Our orcen allies are to march on Fenland within the Saint’s Week, with their dwarven protectors now impotent.” “What must I do?” asked the Emperor, his eyebrows raised slightly. “My emperor, we must put them to the sword,” offered Henry to the closed assembly, “And God in all his mercy will find a just reward. Whenever humanity shows the slightest hint of vulnerability, like the jackals they are, those dwarven degenerates pounce. All true Imperials must be as one and gather for this fight.” A dire ash cloud loomed overhead, and verily, the Emperor took it as a sign, and he spoke hither unto his council. “To forgive the Urguanites for their sins against our country may be God’s providence, but to send them to Him is mine. We must finish what Emperor Peter started, and revenge ourselves upon the barbaric dwarven aggressions against us, tenfold. Send the fleets to Erochland, take up our spears, take up our swords. We march from there, root them from their holes and kill them all.” _______________________________________ WARCLAIM DETAILS TYPE OF BATTLE: Skirmish TIME: Sunday the 6th of December, 10 PM GMT, 5 PM EST, 2 PM PST (Proposed) ATTACKERS: The Holy Orenian Empire and allied forces DEFENDERS: The Kingdom of Urguan and allied forces LOCATION: TERMS OF VICTORY: VICTORY FOR ATTACKERS- If all defending forces are routed or killed. 23. I think pretty much everyone that writes a ban appeal does that. Bowing down and pretending to be sorry is how you get unbanned. :')
