  1. Augustus Blackmont receives word of the declarations in the Dreadfort. "No ruler of mine, this boy. Only the true Emperor Godfrey may command me to war." He sighs and turns back to his letters, and back to the more important matter of war with the Kingdom of Hanseti.
  2. Augustus Blackmont is immediately blinded upon seeing the impossibly white letter
  3. Augustus Blackmont, his vassals, and direct hirelings are noticeably absent from the coronation.
  4. A letter is promptly sent back in response. "Blessing upon you and your House, Silverblades, While the incident with the Greymane is indeed unfortunate, it is not something that I can punish the men responsible for. Charles Greymane, Lord of House Greymane is noted as an oathbreaker, and traitor to mine own Household for betraying his vows and forsaking the promises he made when he swore himself into my service years ago. The assault on this Roan Greymane is warranted, and justified. Until reparations are made for the betrayal of Charles Greymane, these attacks on his House, family, and own person will continue. It is with great regret that these demands are denied, though a possible solution has been presented to you in this letter. Lord Augustus Blackmont"
  5. Having been told of a recent proclamation regarding his men, Augustus Blackmont pens a letter and has it sent off to Teuton land, the intended recipient being Mirtok. Additional letters bearing similar content are sent to Blackmont's allies. Hochmeister. In light of the bounties you've set against my men, and the conflict we find ourselves embroiled in, I make these following demands: - The cessation of your supposed claims to the Dreadfort, and lands surrounding. - The removal of the bounties against my soldiers. - Your resignation from the position of Grand Coeciter and the Privy Council. - The dismantling of all your BALLISTAS. - Reparation in the form 320 iron ingots, for war damages. Should these concessions not be made, the following will occur. House Blackmont and her allies will extend their current goal of simply seizing the disputed land north of the Dreadfort, to a new purpose of completely destroying the Kingdom of Hanseti, removing you as Hochmeister of the Teutonic Order (With its own destruction if it cannot be salvaged for its true purpose of protecting the North) and wiping clean from the realm any traces of House DeNurem. If your own allies deem fit to try and intervene, their own keeps and lands will be targeted, and utterly devastated. This campaign of vengeance will never cease and no negotiations will be permitted, until the halls of Castle Greywyn lie in ruins, and House DeNurem is no more. You have two elven days to comply, or face utter annihilation. Silence is seen as refusal. Bend as you normally do, and there will be a chance for peace. Augustus Blackmont, Lord of the Dreadfort
  6. A bird bearing a letter of denial is sent back to the original owner. The letter seems to be generic in nature and bears no seal. (Also if a GM/FM/Etc could delete or edit Csalz initial post with the roster that would be great, it only promoted metagaming and is extremely out of date.
  7. Augustus read the letter again, having received it from his in-laws the Chivay's. For what seemed barely a moment he sat at his desk, thinking quickly. Drelik Letholdus, thirty five years of service, Captain of the guard, uncountable crimes committed in the name of Blackmont on explicit orders from Augustus himself. Augustus blinked, and called for the guard present outside his chambers. "Yes m'lord?" inquired the guard, peeking in through the door. "Where is Drelik?" asked Augustus, his eyes closed. "I was just in the kitchen with him a few moments ago m'lord - he's eating with some of the men - then I came up for my turn at watch." "Take two men and arrest him, throw him in a cell." grunted Augustus. "Ay-Aye...m'lord..." stuttered the man, moving to go. Augustus groaned, he had changed his mind at the last moment, as he knew he would. "Oi, boy!" he shouted after the man. "Aye, m'lord?" asked the guard, clearly anxious. Augustus turned away from him as he spoke, a nearby fire crackling the only sound to be heard. He had known Drelik for decades, his most loyal retainer, most efficient soldier, most favored follower.... "Take four men." finished Augustus. ....and so of course, having known Drelik for so long, Augustus knew that two would not be nearly enough to take him. He turned then, and began to write a correspondence to the High Sheriff's office, declaring that Drelik had been detained.

  9. Tiberius Blackmont Nicknames: "Tiber" Age: 12 Gender: Male Race: Human Status: Alive Description Height: Four foot Weight: Fifty five pounds Body Type: Very slightly above average Eyes: Green Hair: Brown Skin: Slightly Tanned Markings/Tattoos: None Health: Good Personality: A quiet, introverted young man - Tiberius suffers from deep seeded depression. He holds anger for most everyone in his life, but being too young to do anything about it tends to keep to himself. Once fun loving and adventurous, life has turned Tiberius into a cynical creature, trusting few and speaking little when not necessary. He sees deception as his only real tool, all that he can use to gain some sort of edge over others. Inventory: A leather cap, a toy knight given to him by his mother Further Details: There is no one in the world that Tiberius hates more then his father. Though not fundamentally different, Tiberius sees Augustus as a despicable person, and unintelligent due to his impulses. Life Style Alignment*: Neutral Deity*: None Religion: None Alliance/Nation/Home: House Blackmont (Nominally) Job/Class: Title(s): Profession(s): Special Skill(s): Flaw(s): Tiberius naturally leans to lying, and deception of others. Pet(s): None History Tiberius Blackmont was born to the loveless marriage of Augustus Blackmont, Lord of House Blackmont and ruler of the Dreadfort and Lorin Chivay, a cousin to Peter and Thomas Chivay - one commander of the White Rose, the other head of House Chivay. To his father, Tiberius was nothing but a tool to be used, like most around him, a final insult to his enemies that he intended his legacy to survive even when he was dead. In his infancy, Tiberius saw his father three times, none of which he remembers. His relationship with his mother however, is quite the opposite. From the moment he was born, Tiberius was doted upon by his mother. From her, he received all the care of a mother, and was filled all the love missing from his father. These first few years were the best Tiberius would see of his early childhood. He lived with his mother, at her home in the capital while his father made war and more enemies. His relationship with others was amiable, at the least, and he took great pride in being related to so many important people, namely the Chivay brothers. When Tiberius was five years old, his mother became pregnant again. Up to that point, Tiberius had never had a negative thought in his brain, by all means the perfectly normal, friendly child. However, upon recieving the news from Lorin that she would soon give birth to a brother or sister to Tiberius, he felt for the first time in his life - anger, jealousy, spite. The very thought that he would have to fight for his mothers affection and attention sickened Tiberius. Every night, he prayed to the Creator that some beast would come and kill his unborn sibling. Lorin had a miscarriage. After hours of pain and sweat, two lifeless infants, a brother and sister - were all that remained. It wasn't until a week later that Tiberius received the news that his wish had come true. His siblings were dead, but so was his mother. For a month thereafter, Tiberius remained in an almost catatonic state. He sincerely thought that the Creator had granted him his request, but at the same time killed his mother as punishment for the depravity of the boon. It had been his father who told him what had happened, when he arrived for the first time in almost a year at Lorin's home in the Capital. With his face totally devoid of emotion, barely a quiver in his voice, Augustus told his son the fate that had befallen his mother. It was then that Tiberius decided he truly hated his Father. With this, Tiberius was taken to his father's home, the Dreadfort. Never in his life had Tiberius seen a place so wicked, so tainted; a place that seemed to be patrolled by demons, with their cruel tongues and faces covered in blood. That night in his chamber, Tiberius renounced the Creator and his Father, cursed them, spat upon them, and glumly decided to let life do with him as he wished. Adapting to life at the Dreadfort was as difficult as the loss of his mother for Tiberius. He was not permitted to leave without a guard and explicit permission from his father, he was allowed no toys, or visitors, or interaction with other children. One month after his mother's death, his father was taken by the Emperor, and taken to the Imperial Palace under guard for his aggression against the allies of the Empire. The situation only worsened, unfortunately. Unsupervised by his father, the Dreadfort garrison became uncontrollable, now unhindered by their fear of Lord Blackmont. Tiberius was subject to multiple abuses: being hit, denied meals, and worst of all - being forced to watch the soldiers at their torture. For over a year, this was Tiberius' life, a child so consumed by fear and dread that he slowly changed into that which he hated most. His thoughts became more violent, his dreams full of thoughts of killing his father and those who pestered him the most. On the outside though, the only difference notable was that Tiberius had gotten quieter. Very early on he had learnt that speaking his mind only earned a beating, and so Tiberius waited patiently, for any chance at vengeance, for any change at all. She had short hair, and seemed very nervous. That was all Tiberius had initially thought, at the sight of the hand wringing woman brought before him by the guards. But as she spoke, a feeling of overwhelming emotion washed over Tiberius. It was his mother, returned from the dead. At that moment all of the travesties he had endured seemed tolerable, and Tiberius was simply glad to have his mother back. Stricken by grief for her lost children, and fearing the retribution of her husband, Lorin had run off, faking her own death. It was with his mother that Tiberius saw the Capital for the first time. He was furious at having been denied such sights for so long, but as always, kept the anger to himself. With his mother by his side and his hand in hers, Tiberius took in the scene that was the Emperor's court. He gazed upon the throne longingly. Trusting his mother completely, Tiberius opened up, letting her know of all his ambitions, all his secret hatred. Without a word, Lorin had looked at Tiberius for that brief moment as he imagined himself looking at his father. Tiberius feigned ignorance and simply smiled, again discovering that he should keep his true feelings to himself. The day ended, Tiberius returned to the Dreadfort, and tearfully said goodbye to his mother. Months passed, and Tiberius' father returned to the Dreadfort, to the apparent jubilation of the garrison. Though his treatment improved, he was still subject to the heavy handed criticism of his father and the harsh lessons that came with being the heir to House Blackmont. During this time, Tiberius had no word from his mother, nor sight. He suspected that her letters were being burnt, and her requests at visiting denied by his father. Seven years old, Tiberius had been forced to grow up much faster then any child should have. However, several days after Tiberius' eighth name day he receive a letter, written by a child and directed to him, it was from his cousin, Rosalie Chivay. Quickly becoming pen pals, Tiberius finally met Rosalie after many letters at the age of nine. He was immediately infatuated with her, being the only person his age he had truly communicated with. And so, in secret, the two met eachother when they were able, becoming faster friends with each meeting. While this forbidden friendship progressed, Tiberius was training. He was taught his letters, the fundamentals of logic and strategy, and combat by the feared Captain Drelik Letholdus. As his father's wars against the different Lords of Oren escalated, Tiberius found himself being groomed at a faster rate then ever for command and leadership.
  10. From the Dreadfort, Augustus has a letter sent off to the Emperor, regarding a claim on land. "My Emperor, blessings upon you and your House, Four days ago, marks the thirty fifth year that I have served you, and Oren. Three elven weeks ago, with the death of my sworn man Scar Eye, marks the seventeenth man in my service to die for Oren in a time of peace. Today, marks the fifteenth time since the landing in Anthos men of the Teutonic Order have approached my Dreadfort, and threatened my family and holdings. For decades I have patiently waited, and watched - as new men entered your service and quickly surpassed me in rank and title. With no merit of their own, no prowess in battle, they achieved what I bled for, what my soldiers died for. Yet I kept my tongue, for I swore to serve you. When, through my own ingenuity Hanseti was absorbed into your Empire and I saw the Hochmeister, a man whom had sworn your death raised far above and beyond my own status - I kept my tongue, for I remembered my oath. Through you, through your mercy, I have grown wealthy, and powerful, but I am not content. My ranks swell greater then ever before, their zeal for the Empire unmatched, but they remain cramped - shoulder to shoulder in the tiny holdings given to me in Anthos. Yet even with the miniscule I was given, others would take. The Hochmeister Mirtok DeNurem, he who knelt and gave away his Kingdom without so much as a fight, has harassed and belittled me for months on end, years on end - trying to threaten my men, intimidate my vassals - and most importantly, break your peace. In short, he wants my land - given to me by your own person. My soldiers are not quick enough to stop the terror inflicted upon the villagers of Carrion, my neighbor and vassal by the Sariants. Their screams of terror and the frantic pleas of assistance penned to me by Lord Siegmund bear heavy on my heart. No man can antagonize me and my own without fear of my wrath, I might have once said. But that was when I was a different man, and I served no one. I recognized your paramountcy, as this power hungry, pitiful excuse of a Kingdom named Hanseti refuses to, headed by their Hochmeister - so recently returned and so full of anger. In this, I cannot keep still, nor quiet. His greed is unchecked by any, and only I stand in his way to further expansion. The land south of the Kingdom of Hanseti proper, all that north of mine own keep, west of Savoie, is mine by right and privilege. What need has Hanseti for the land? They are tasked with protecting your northern border, while I am tasked with protecting the west. What sense then, does it make for Hanseti to have some holdings so far from their field of duty? Therefore I make known my intention to seize this land, for the betterment of mine own House, the stability of the Empire, and to serve a sharp lesson to an overly confident man. In this map marked in orange dye are the lands I claim and wish to assume ownership of, from their current supposed owners, the Teutonic Order. Once this land has been claimed, in the event of your approval, I would make all efforts to immediately end all hostilities, and do all in my power to ensure a return to peace. Should you deny this claim, and order me to withstand on the justice owed me, I would be most saddened, and even more so filled with disillusion then currently. I await your response with great anticipation. Your servant always, Augustus Blackmont, Lord of House Blackmont
  11. Augustus nods at the edict. "Very good." He then sends a letter to the Emperor, another edict requiring his signature. http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/86223-declaration-of-low-crown-authority/
  12. The men of Augustus Blackmont are noticeably absent from any gathering or camp, as they continue their own campaign of vengeance.
  13. From his chamber in the Imperial Palace, Augustus Blackmont sends orders to his Captain Drelik Letholdus, who in turn has them distributed. Letters of intent are sent to nobility of note in the Holy Oren Empire, bearing the Flayed man of Blackmont To those Lords and Ladies of this Holy Oren Empire, It is the wish of his Lordship Augustus Blackmont of the House Blackmont that all those in the Empire be made known of his intent to make official and foremost that he does not take lightly the provocations of the Orcs of the War Uzg. Such crimes that they have partaken in include but are not limited to: - Assistance in the form of weaponry and manpower to the Holy Princedom of Malinor, whom - as declared by the Emperor are enemies of this state. - Assaults and aggravations against the denizens of the Empire, and the Kingdoms that pay tribute to it. - Conspiracies to bring harm unto the Empire, the House Blackmont, and personally to the Lord Blackmont and family. With these slights made public, and undeniable by any well informed man of the Empire, it shall be made clear in this missive that the attempts at restraint in regards to the Orcs of the War Uzg is hereby null and made void, and from this time no man should have doubt that the House Blackmont, allies and hired men, are in a state of fully declared and open warfare against the nation of Orcs - the previous status of undeclared de facto combat thrown aside. In no way does this speak for the Empire as a whole, nor the Emperor's will, but that of his loyal and sworn man Augustus Blackmont. Only until Lord Blackmont deems that punishment has been dealt in full and retribution payed in a satisfactory manner will the conflict be ended, lest the Emperor himself command. To those Houses that bear fealty to House Blackmont, a similar letter of intent or assurance of support is required by law of vassalage To those that may call Blackmont friend and ally, be it through association or otherwise, no support is demanded of or necessary - but welcome nonetheless. Should any Orc somehow get wind of this letter and its content, warn your ungrateful brethren - and pray your leaders have the providence to make peace while it is still attainable. By the word and will of Lord Augustus Blackmont By the hand of Ser John the Lefthand

  17. Augustus sits in his chambers as the war drums sound. He only hopes Ser Drelik - who leads the household in his absence makes the right decision.
  18. Augustus Blackmont sits idle in his bed at the imperial palace, confined to a large chamber - his Blackmont guards standing sentry outside the door; paralleled by the men of the Dragon Guard.
  19. Upon seeing the proposal, Augustus immediately sends off a letter from his bed, bearing his sigil and pledging the support of his household.
  20. Augustus lies in his sick bed as a copy of the notice is brought to him by a man at arms. He takes a brief look, eyeing the signature and letting out a short - pained - snort of laughter. "Burn this. It's nothing important." Having the letter taken from him, Augustus allows himself to drift back into sleep, helped by the easing chuckles.
  21. A note is once again posted, covering the last notice. To any and all men seeking employment, House Blackmont is again hiring fighting men - plan accordingly. ((The above three are all denied))

Augustus has great hopes and dreams for Tiberius, but only because of his desire to continue the legacy he first created. His mother however, showers him with love and affection, despite the father. As the heir to House Blackmont and a lordship in Oren, Tiberius has much and more to accomplish and prepare for, none so helped by the complete lack of a father figure in his life. This only serves to intensify a strange idolization of his father however, because of the lack of contact and absence of knowledge of what his father is reviled and hated for. Nothing but a child, he understands little of the world around him, and spends almost all of his time with his mother and her family.
