Thurdan strides to the pulpit, as he steps in front of it, he gazes about the room for a moment before beginning his speech. “Leadership is not a quality, it is an action. Karin’ayla Sohaer and fellow mali’aheral. I, Thurdan Orathon, Tilruir’sil of Elsillumir, stand before you today speaking as to why I am the most deserving of the position of Okarir’tir.
Long ago, almost two decades now, I sought the need to enlist myself in the Sillumir. At the time, never in my wildest dreams did I think that someday I was destined to become the Okarir’tir of Haelun’or. But here we are now, a short time after dispelling a group of vile and vicious individuals who sought to destroy this blessed nation. The ordeal has undoubtedly brought instability and confusion to those of silver and red. This unsteadiness will be put at ease by my decisiveness.
Unlike the candidates who spoke before me, I have almost twenty years of consistent service to the order behind me. This fact alone proves that I am fully dedicated and loyal to the Sillumir. During my many years of service, I have arisen to the position of Tilruir’sil. I am one of the, if not the highest ranked members of the organisation. To give the position to someone who would attempt to cruise in out of nowhere would send a discouraging message to Sillumiran who wish to someday climb the ranks into this position.
I have seen many Okarir’tiran come and go in such disappointingly short periods of time. The Sohaer can testify that selecting a Okarir’tir is a lengthy process. Permanence is what aim to bring as the Okarir’tir. I can assure you Sohaer that you will not have to repeat this process again any time soon with my appointment to Okarir’tir.
I could delve into a list of promises, but as I mentioned at the beginning that leadership is about action, not words. However, there is one thing I will promise. With my appointment to the position, I will ensure that the Sillumir will be the most effective, disciplined and highly trained individuals the order has ever know. I will bring a new era to elsillumir.
In these new lands the correct selection of the Okarir’tir could lead to our survival and our continued progress. Whilst a poor candidate could lead to our down fall. Through my decisiveness, experience, dedication and permanence, I will ensure the longevity of our blessed race as Okarir’tir,” he concludes. Thurdan once again scans the room before moving away from the pulpit and resuming his seat.
