THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN After hearing of the recent arrivals of President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation and President Collier of the United States in London, in addition to hearing that Germany wishes to engage in talks, Prime Minister Leigh gets an idea, deciding to invite representatives of Switzerland and Ireland to London as well, intending to turn the coincidental visitations of the two superpower leaders into an international conference to be called The London Convention. The Prime Minister will also meet with each of these representatives/leaders in turn, privately, as well as request that they all meet at the same time, on behalf of King Charles and the British Parliament. These nations will include Ireland, Switzerland, the United States, Russia, and Germany. (Will PM each of you via Skype. Please add me. If not in the FRP chat, ask over Forum PM for Skype name) The trading pact with Poland is accepted, and a defense pact is organized with Iceland (NPC), although the British Government also requests mining and drilling rights for their corporations off of Iceland’s shores. The British SAS would be sent to train alongside Seal Team 6 and the Russian elites, as per the United States' request. The British Government would issue a large research grant to Oxford University, hoping that they might discover something of use to the military, or possibly towards finding a replacement energy source to oil or reverse the severe climate change that has impacted the planet. (Update from Moderators every 4 or 5 Pages please) The British Government also intends to speak to Ireland on the issue of possibly creating a joint space program during the King's financial talks. Finally, inspired by King Charles' "Paragon of Good" speech, the popular British band Coldplay attempts to release a new song inspired by the speech and the United Kingdom's "heroic" actions in World War II. If the song becomes a hit, they decide to donate a third of the song's profits to the British military. (Mod Action Requested) ------- King Charles flies to Ireland as per request of the Irish leader. He is accompanied by the Minister of Finance, and both are guarded TIGHTLY by MI-6 whilst on visitation in Ireland in cooperation with the Irish Secret Service, in case leftist extremists or other parties wish to harm the monarch. Whilst in Ireland, King Charles would be portrayed in the media as playing a game of GAA (a popular Irish sport) with the Leader of Ireland, the football version of the game of course. Although the leader of Ireland’s team wins the game, the King laughs heartily and is in good spirits at the outcome. Whilst in Ireland, the King also gives a speech to the Irish people, recorded publicly by the media and broadcasted over the BBC and other news networks. "Good people of Ireland, It is good to see all of you today! I have been enjoying myself here in Ireland; the people here, I must say, are very friendly, and have accepted my visit with open arms. Irish hospitality, I suppose." The audience laughs lightly. "In any case, I give this speech today to reaffirm our undying friendship with the Irish people. We've come a long way in a century and a half towards repairing our relationships, as is evident by my visit today. We both share a common history, a common language, and generally share common cultures; we are more than simply friends. We are brothers." The audience takes a moment to give polite applause to the monarch. "...but unfortunently, this world becomes more and more unstable by the hour, threatening all of us." The King sighs. "With imperialist and radical powers growing more greedy by the day, a powder keg is almost all but certain to explode in Europe. When that time comes, the Western democracies and constitutional monarchies must fight together to preserve our lifestyles, our autonomy, and our-" Suddenly, one of the King's staff members interrupt his speech, passing him a note. The staff member whispers something in his ear. "Italy has invaded Spain. God help us all..." The King scowls lightly. "These days may already be upon us; I'm afraid that I must get in contact with the Prime Minister of Great Britain over the telephone. I hope that you'll forgive me, but in truth, my speech was over in any case. I sincerely hope that Ireland will stand with Britain in these days of trouble. Pardon me." The crowd is silent as the King leaves, simply shocked to hear of the Spanish invasion. However, they politely give him a standing ovation as he exits the room to contact the British Government. After discussing the situation, he would decide that a formal meeting with the Irish leader is in order. -------- The United Kingdom of Great Britain begins to prepare a naval and army task force to assist Spain and Portugal if it comes to it. Amongst the land task force would be a force of 17,000 British Troops, 82 Tanks, a number of armored personnel carriers, and other support vehicles. Amongst the naval force would be a number of frigates and destroyers, supported by 2 Trafalgar Class submarines, set up in a convoy formation to protect the troop transports and the jewel of the task force, a Queen Elizabeth-Class aircraft carrier known as the H.M.S Queen Elizabeth, stocked with RAF Harriers, Tornadoes, and Eurofighters. The task force would stand by, prepared to sail south from Britain to Northern Spain to intervene in the situation on the Iberian peninsula. The British issue an ultimatum to Italia, requesting that they withdraw their troops from the Iberian peninsula immediately and cease their invasion of Spain. Italia would also be added to the United Kingdom's standing trade blacklist. Portugal and Spain are asked to explain the situation on the peninsula in further detail to the United Kingdom. Then, they might intervene militarily, in exchange for the Azore Islands to the west of Portugal. -

THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN Things were certainly getting intense in Europe... It seemed that every other major European nation worth it's salt was giving their opinions about the Swedish situation, so the Prime Minister decided that an opinion from Great Britain was in order as well. In a joint session of Parliament that evening, he summoned the media to record a speech that was to be given in the chambers. Leigh opened up the speech, intending to let the King speak after he introduced him to the Parliament. "My friends in Parliament, today I and my good friend, the King, come to address you about a rather pressing issue on the international stage. We thank you for your support in creating a greater, better, safer, more financially sound United Kingdom, as shown by your recent passing of the bills that his Majesty and I so desired to be passed." Applause is heard. "In any case, I shall not steal his Majesty's thunder; I shall now turn over the mic to King Charles." More applause in the chamber is heard as King Charles takes the microphone, and begins to address Parliament, a benevolent grin on his face. "My friends... It is good to see all of you today. As the Prime Minister has said, we are utterly gracious for your support for our recent bills. However... I come to address another matter before you today." The King's smile quickly turns to a frown. "As many of you may know, Sweden has elected some rather... unsavory fellows, to their government. Officials of the Sweden National Socialist Party. They have dissolved an ancient monarchy which has endured for hundreds of years. They have abandoned their democratic principles in favor of sadistic radicalism. They have persecuted their Muslim population, as Adolf Hitler persecuted the Jews so many years ago in Nazi Germany, and their non-European immigrants. What is next? Death camps? A Swedish 'Hitler Youth'? Anders Breivik has already been declared the equivalent to the Führer of Nazi Germany by the Swedish government; is it not logical to assume that they will drift into such a path as Germany did so many years ago?" The King pauses for a second, fumbling with his notes. "Therefore, I must denounce the actions of the Swedish government. The British people have had their moments of glory, and their moments of shame. But we have always acted in the best interest of the world, attempting to aspire to be a paragon of good. Almost one hundred years ago next year, Hitler sparked a war that nearly ruined Europe, and it took the world's three superpowers to put an end to it. Although it is the choice of the Swedish people as to whom they elect to their government, or what type of government they select, we cannot and will not stand for a National Socialist regime to attempt to conquer it's neighbors once again! If Sweden becomes an aggressor against it's neighbors... we must stand against it. And not just the United Kingdom, but all of Europe must as well! But as long as they don't start another holocaust, nor expand southward beyond their current borders, we shall not have any quarrel with them... But God save them if they do." The room thunders in genuine applause, the legislature proud of their King. The Prime Minister stands at his side, clapping as well. ---------- In other international affairs... The United Kingdom understands Ireland's reluctance to accept the British Pound as their national currency, but urges them to continue to consider adopting it to strengthen both nations' economies. The ambassador to Saudi Arabia plans to meet with the King of their nation (Will Skype PM later). The Prime Minister is delighted to hear that Switzerland is willing to cooperate with the British in restoring the European economy. He also believes that a military alliance between the Swiss Republic and the United Kingdom could be beneficial, as well as an economic one. Therefore, a military alliance and trading pact is offered to Switzerland. The British Government fears for Iceland's (NPC) safety during this age of aggressors and unstable regimes; therefore, they offer Iceland membership into the United Kingdom as a territory. If they accept, they will be an autonomous nation with their own independent parliament, but will be able to reap the benefits of protection from the British military in exchange for access to their natural resources. If they accept, British troops and RAF fighters will immediately be sent to Iceland to build defenses on the island, and entrepreneurs would be encouraged to tap into the island's resources. If not, the British would still offer military protection to Iceland and still request trading privileges. (Mod Action Requested) A military alliance and trading pact is requested of France (NPC). The Prime Minister still awaits a response from the Russian Federation as to Britain's request for a nonaggression pact and trading pact. Both the Prime Minister and the King wish to have a meeting with President Connier of the United States. ------- In domestic news... The Traditionalist Conservatives would attempt to argue against the liberals and the lower classes, reminding them that the nobility continue to own much of Britain's land and control many of their economic resources, that the House of Lords still has many of the "common people" within it's ranks, and the fact that the House of Commons is a more powerful institution in any case. They also state that Parliament is considering issuing strict reforms in the House of Lords. There be elections, in which half the population or more of an area must affirm that their lords are competent enough to claim the their seats in Parliament. The party hopes that this will calm the liberals down... -

<!~~THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN~~!> The United Kingdom was experiencing great change... David Cameron, the Prime Minister of Great Britain, had been defeated, the Conservative-Liberal Party Coalition deciding that a new path was in order. Sir Edward Leigh had replaced Cameron as Prime minister in the shocking recent elections that had swept across the nation that seemed to favor the Conservative Traditionalists. Citizens of Britain were tired of the high taxes, the restricted gun laws, the high crime-rates, and the economic troubles that plagued them. Although they had not endorsed the Euro completely, the affected nations in Europe harmed British trade and investments... Queen Elizabeth, the second of her name, had finally died. Grand processions had been held in honor of the longest reigning monarch since Queen Victoria herself. But now, a new era had begun, and as such, a new King had been crowned... King Charles now sat upon the throne. But he had ideals and plans for the future of Great Britain, planning to take an extraordinary interest . Plans that he intended to implement with the help of the new Prime Minister... Prime Minister Leigh and the King push for for the new Super-Conservative Oriented Parliament to approve and pass a new series of legislation, including such things as the repealment of the guns restrictions placed on police officers and the civilian population, devoting more funds to the Anglican Church, and attempting to restore the right of the British nobility's lords to be able to claim a seat in the House of Lords as long as they possess 300,000 Pounds Sterling in their bank accounts or more, in addition to their still validated landed titles. The King also pushes for an increased naval buildup, as well as an increase in troop numbers in the Royal Army, due to the recent chaos that has afflicted Europe. (MOD ACTION REQUESTED) ----- On the international stage, the Prime Minister of Great Britain and the King review current events. Neither are pleased to hear about the Nazi regime taking over Sweden; they might offer diplomatic asylum to the royal family of the Swedes (IF the royal family were still alive), but otherwise, the British government would not be willing to do much at the moment. The Prime Minister drafts a letter to the President of the United States, stating that they will accept the military alliance and stand by the Federal Government in the event of a second Civil War. Assurances are also made that they will support democracy in Europe however they can. Although the King and the British nobility would be taking a larger role in the politics of Great Britain, they were still a sound, constitutional monarchy with an elected parliament, and continue to support the same principles that the United States endorses. However, Increased Trade is requested between the United States and Great Britain, in hopes of providing further security in the economic void that has appeared in Europe. Great Britain would offer Ireland the option to use the British Pound instead of the Euro to help boost their economy, assuming that they could prove to the British government that they had sufficient gold reserves and economical infrastructure to support the Pound. However, the British government would reserve the right to retract the right for Ireland to use the Pound if, for any time period over the length of 5 years, they are unable to support themselves economically, and are detracting from the value of the Pound. A Trade Agreement is also requested of Ireland. The United Kingdom would also accept all Trading Agreements offered to it by any nation in the world, excluding the CSA, the Islamic Caliphate, Iran, and Sweden. The Prime Minister, being a man of money, would also request a meeting with the Presidents of Switzerland to discuss methods of restoring Western Europe's economy, as they both seem to be the most financially secure countries left on the continent. A Non-Agression Pact is requested of the Russian Federation, and a Trading Agreement is extended to them as well. A Trading Agreement is also requested of Saudi Arabia, in hopes of securing future access to oil resources. Finally, last but not least, the Commonwealth of Nations (Mostly NPC; Some Mod Action Requested) is called into session by the King of Great Brittain, and he requests that the former British colonies of the world stand together, by him, as they progress through these tough times. He asks that they all engage in an alliance with the United Kingdom, and with each other, so that they might better protect themselves from the new aggressors of the world. -

Specter of Saint Mandru smiles benevolently to Beros. "Tis good to see you too, my friend." However, Mandru also looks to Jakir, scratching his head. "I was unaware that Jakir had been disconnected, or was branded a 'traitor'... that is... a pity, I must say..." He sighs.- 109 replies

The Specter of Saint Mandru appears displeased. "Ah, Katari... How nice to see you again. I have heard that you did an excellent job during your term as Grandmaster. However, I must say that I am rather dissapointed in you. I had more faith in you than what you have outwardly shown. Did you not love your brothers, or Tahariae? You trade the greatest gift of all gifts for the Spirits and void tricks. I fear what judgement awaits you in Tahariae's Halls... If, you reach Tahariae's halls. But I know one thing for certain: I am one spirit that you SHALL NOT touch. In life, you were my friend, but I must nevertheless express my oppinion to you." The specter crosses his arms in a pissed sort of manner.- 109 replies

Suddenly, the Specter of Saint Mandru chooses to show himself amongst the clerics for the first time publicly, fading into visibilty slowly. Notably, experienced clerics would recognize him as a SPECTER or a benevolent ghost, rather than a wicked or neutral spectral being. He also seems a lot younger than the old Mandru that many of them may have last seen, visibly in his 30s rather than in his 80s. "Greetings, clerics. Please, do not attack me with the magics of our Master; I have returned to our plane in the name of benevolence and of good, not of evil or of corruption. To those who don't know who I am, I am Mandru VonSchlichten, the first Grandmaster of The Reformed Clerical Order, resurrected out of the ruins of the alliance between the Xan Paladins and Tahariae's Children. I shall not draw attention from the purpose of this meeting, but I come to say this: I support Heshakomeu becoming the new Grandmaster of this branch of Tahariae's children. And as the last of my appointed council members, it only makes sense, after the disconnection of my appointed successor who, it seems, has fallen from grace in the sight of our Patron." Mandru frowns very deeply whilst saying this. "In any case, I shall be on this plane as a spiritual advisor, as a consultant, and as a possible mentor to any of you whom wish for me to act as such. I shall always be here for you, in spirit, a servant of the one whom we all serve." His speech finished, Mandru takes a moment to smile and wave to Hosper, Heshakomeu, and a few others that he recognizes amongst the group.- 109 replies

Specter of Mandru whispers to Heshakmeu, still invisible. The voice of a younger Mandru, rather than the one that Heshakomeu would be most familiar with: his older, croaky voice. "I am always in the prescense of my master's children, Heshakomeu. Do not make a big deal over the hearing of my voice; and no, you are not having an illusion. I am here to watch your meeting, in spirit..."- 109 replies

Chipotle Forum Rp - To Satisfy Our Late Night Burrito Cravings
AndrewTech replied to Heff's topic in Athera OOC Archive
Professor Mandru VonSchlichten, sitting in a lonesome booth, gets up, adjusts spectacles, and begins to give lecture to restaraunt peoples about the history of Burritoes, Mexico, the Aztecs, Spain, and of rice itself. After pausing for various groans from the customers attempting to enjoy their Mexican delicacies (and after a boring two hour lecture), Mandru orders brown rice on his taco. Thank goodness he stopped before he incited a food fight. -
THE KINGDOM OF DAGGERFALL Daggerfall Stats: Military: --12,000 Total --8,000 Heavy Infantry --1,500 Battlemages --1,000 Archers --1,000 Calvary --500 Members of the Knights of the Dragon Civilians: --40,000 Total Independence was a truly wonderful thing. King Damian sat on his throne, in the Castle now being constructed in Daggerfall City, contemplating recent events. It was a grand castle, though sadly, it could not compete with the ones in the Nordic Empire nor the Heartlands. Since the Nords had retreated from High Rock, Daggerfall had prospered greatly. A type of culture and civilization had been provided to the Kingdom by their Nord occupants; for some, it was a curse. But for Damian, it was a blessing. For finally, a Breton Kingdom, an independent Breton Kingdom, was becoming a reality... Land was being snatched up left and right by the Kingdom. All neighboring independent counts and chieftains were being offered (and intimidated into accepting) vassalization under Daggerfall; for Damian had an even grander dream now. The King wanted Daggerfall to become the unquestioned power in Iliac Bay, and prosper from it's position economically. And it would be so. The gods were with them. ACTIONS: --The diplomat(s) from Rihad are warmly welcomed to Daggerfall, and the King was in fact about to send his own diplomats to Rihad. He is ready to hear what they have to say, and propose negotiations of his own. --The new culture that the Kingdom is boasting, created through Nordic and Breton influences into it's own conglomeration, is supported by the King and his vassals, and they would attempt to institute and spread it throughout the Realm. --A Nonagression Pact is requested with the First Nordic Empire. --A Trading Agreement is also requested with the First Nordic Empire. --Stross Mi'kai is sent diplomats from the Kingdom of Daggerfall, apparently wishing to discuss something... --Independant Counts and Chieftains neighboring the Kingdom to the North and Northeast would be offered vassalization and protection. If they refuse, ambassadors would attempt to intimidate the weak lords by hinting at military action should they not accept the King's generous offer... ((Mod Action Requested))

It has been many years since Grandmaster Mandru VonSchlichten had attempted to reform the clerical order. No one knows the whereabouts of the old man; many consider him dead. He was, after all, 75 years of age the last time that anyone had heard from him. Others believe that he simply gave up on the clerics, unable to control them nor disconnect the unrighteousness ones with the disappearance of most of the Itharel. Yet a few others believe that he had gone forth to combat a darkness elsewhere, more terrible than anything in Athera, as well as to seek the secret of holy, eternal life in the process... Nevertheless, he is still nowhere to be found... Though it may be implied that wherever he is, be it the seven skies or elsewhere, the Ex-Grandmaster would approve of the idea of the cleansing of the Order, though he most likely would be utterly saddened to hear of his old apprintace's rougeness and Jakir's misfortune... ...but who would he be to argue with Tahariae?

THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS The Oracle of Defensor and monarchs are both very pleased to hear of the Grand Dutchy's descision to send reinforcements to the Northern Border. The Crusade shall begin shortly, although the Army of Man is currently shoring up defenses and engaging in training proceedures. Forts would be constructed along the border, the crowning jewel of the fortifications that have existed since the Great Invasion. The Grand Dutchy of Marste is also garrunteed independence from the Kingdom, so long as they maintain their standing non-aggression pact. In addition, the Grand Dutchy of Marste is extended an invitation by the Queen of Campestribus to join the Humanic Council, the second meeting of which is about to begin in Lauriacum. The Queen would have been forced to leave the Parliament chambers to begin this council, a herald telling her of the arrivals of the Imperial Archon and the Dragon King Maren. Some racket would have been caused from seeing the dragon flying overhead, and the city garrison would have barely restrained themselves from openings fire upon the dragon. Nevertheless, the king is greeted gracefully by a herald, and is invited to follow him to the conference room in which the Council is being held. ----- Meanwhile, the King of Campestribus would continue glaring at the Speaker. "I have the complete authority to speak for her majesty; excuse her absense, please," he says emotionlessly as he turns the sword over in his hands. ------ The cleansing of the fields would finally be completed, and peasants would begin to plan their crops once more. However, immense trade and commerce would continue to flourish between what has now become known as the Southern Triangle, in which Campestribus sells and buys goods from both the Iron Dominion and the Grand Dutchy of Marste, and acts as a conduit through which trade can be shared between the three nations. Any profit received from this trade mediation would be put towards paying military wages and the process of Reconstruction. --------- THE SECOND HUMANIC COUNCIL Assuming that the other two members and the one new invitee attend the council, the Queen of Campestribus, about 3 or 4 months pregnant, would address the council. ((Next post when I get back from trip. Will be gone until Monday. ;.;))

[super short post; doesn't even count as a turn] The Campestrian fleet would quickly ferry the extra legions from Vyrantium back and forth to the Northern Border's fortifications in the Kingdom, assuming they're planning to follow the same route as last time. Any ship, Orcish or otherwise, that attempted to attack the grand fleet would be blown out of the water by powerful anti-ship ballistas. The Grand Admiral would salute the Archon particularly as he boards the ship, to note, as would every other sailor. They obviously seem to show him a great deal of respect, as though he were a high-ranking Legate of their own military, or even the King himself. Attacking huge Campestrian warships, especially traveling in a huge convoy, is a very bad idea indeed. Otherwise, if they were to take another route, the fortifications would await their arrival.
-
~THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS~ Reconstruction was going well in the Kingdom of Campestribus. Roughly one third of all of the pillaged towns had now been rebuilt by the government public works projects, and half of the . When necessity came, Parliament was a truly efficient body. And they would have to remain efficient in the coming days, thought King Quintus Trentor as he sat next to his wife, the Queen and supreme Head of State, on his throne in the chambers of Parliament. By this time, Marie was now pregnant with his son. Parliament would not normally be in session at this time; each individual count/countess and baron/baroness should have, in theory, been working on raising their levies to shore-up defenses along the northern border until the Royal Army could be resoldified. 5,000 legionaries, or five legions, had already been hastily trained for war and been sent to the now super-fortified Northern Border to join Vyrantium's legions and the other forces of the Army of Man, as well as the 4,000 Royal Knights, but from the rumors spreading across the realm, they would need more... and soon. The war lions were also truly a blessing from Defensor. Though they could not be raise en masse, the 200 lions already trained would be dispatched to the border as well. Campestribus would not be conquered by pagan Necromancers. The Oracle also had recently made an announcement to the people of Campestribus, with the approval of the Parliament: An evil god was ruling of the Fae of Tamenth. With the death of King Kaecillius, there would be a CRUSADE in the name of Defensor against the forces that had slain him. (A portrait made by the Campestrian Church of The Defensor riding into combat) All convicts and criminals of the Kingdom of Campestribus who would join the Royal Army to assist in this "Defensive Crusade" would be granted full amnesty, in addition to eternal forgiveness for their sins by their god. 2,000 Priests of Defensor, once they are done purifying the Kingdom's land, would also join the forces at the northern border, prepared to use their power in combat. The Oracle herself knows that there will be a Crusade, and that mobilization will be hastened, but she nevertheless attempts to commune with The Defensor in an attempt to request specific instructions from him if at all possible. ((Mod action requested for both)) People of all faiths ruled by just and fair gods are also called upon to join Campestribus in their Defensive Crusade in fending off the evil god Setherus and his armies, in addition to the nations of The Kingdom of Maren (They would be reminded that many of their knights were also killed along with their King by the Fae), Vyrantium (The status of the Tamenth as an adept necromancer state would also be mentioned in the Kingdom's request), The Dominion of Marste (They would be reminded of the hundreds of years of peaceful friendship that they have shared with the Kingdom, and their standing lucrative Trading Agreement and Non-Agression Pact), and the High Kingdom of the Fae. Meanwhile, the mercenary group offered to them during the previous war by the Iron Dominion would be hired on the spot by the Parliament of Campestribus, and would be sent their backpay. These soldiers would be ordered to join the Army of Man along the northern frontier as soon as possible. If the raids on the Campestrian merchant ships at sea had a success rate of more than 40%, the Kingdom's fleet of powerful warships would be dispatched to travel with the ships in convoys until the piracy by the Orcs dies down. -=-=-=-=-=-=- And now for the purpose of the meeting of Parliament. The Speaker of Tamneth is escorted into the meeting chambers by two soldiers. Notably, he would have been disarmed of all weaponry when he was stopped at the fortifications on the Northern Border, and his hands would have been tightly bound behind his back, so that he could not use his magic if he possessed any. The soldiers purposely shove him onto his knees before the Queen, the King, and the Lords of Parliament. The King stands up from his throne, drawing the Sword of Defensor from it's sheath. He examines it closely, though peacefully. "Speak, Worshiper of Evil." Quintus demands, frowning. "And address myself and Parliament if anyone at all! You have no right to address our Queen, the daughter of the man your god murdered, directly." -=-=-=-=-=-=- In other matters, the Priest of Defensor being tortured would provide no further information to the evil god, and would scream something about his days being numbered as he's dragged away to the torture chambers. The HUMANIC COUNCIL would also be held as soon as the Imperial Archon and Dragon King of Maren showed up to it, although the Queen was simply going to call for war against the Tamnreth anyways. Vyrantium is also asked for them to keep their legions stationed on the Northern Campestrian Border if at all possible; for the conflict that has plagued the South has not yet ended... The Iron Dominion's leader is sent condolences by the King and Queen of Campestribus. They are also asked for a nonaggression pact so that their trade may continue to thrive, and that a friendship might be established between their nations.

~THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS~ The soldiers and militia cheer esthetically as the Horde is routed. Legatus Maximus Quintus Bassilius is grinning ear to ear. "PERSUE THEM!" he orders. "And don't stop until they're out of the Kingdom! DEFENSOR IS WITH US!" The Army of Man would continue to pursue the routed Horde, until they are outside of the northern borders of Campestribus. Afterwards, the forces would take defensive positions outside the city of Abalava, creating defensive positions, stockades, and entrenchments along the northern border in case the Horde decides to turn back and counter attack. Legate Vitruvius would be put in charge of the Army, in joint command with the Legate from Vyrantium, while a small delegation of troops, along with some food supplies from the Maritime cities that still had access to the trading routes with the Iron Dominion. They would follow the Legatus Maximus, entering the capital city of Lauriacum. ~=~=~=~=~ A grand victory parade would take place in the capital, many of it's building damaged heavily or destroyed by the Orcish siege gear. The Royal Knights, who had been stationed in the city during the conflict, would join in the Parade to the Royal Palace. Morale would be boosted immediately as food is distributed to the people, starved from months of rationing. The colors of Vyrantium, Maren, and Campestribus would be waved from the windows of still-standing buildings. As the delegation approaches the Royal Advisory and the Queen and Grand Duchess, in the courtyard of the battered Royal Palace, they would ask, "Where is the King?" At this Quintus would be silent for a moment, a tear running down the military man's cheek. The musicians playing their instruments in accompaniment with the envoy would abruptly stop, the city waiting in silence for the Legatus Maximus's answer. "The King... The King is dead. He was killed by the Tamreth on a peaceful diplomatic mission... trying to rally support for us. He died a hero." He took the crown from his bag, holding it up. The people gasp. Women begin to weep, including the widowed Queen. The Grand Duchess is shocked to hear of this; a tear rolls down her face, as she throws herself at the Legatus Maximus, hugging him tightly. After the Princess releases him, the Oracle of Defensor steps forward. "I had sensed such a disturbance..." she hisses, going to take the crown from the Legatus Maximus's hands. She would place the crown the Duchess/Princess's head. "In the name of Defensor, and by the tradition that is that of the House of Trentor, I name you Queen Marie Trentor of the Kingdom of Campestribus." "LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!" The crowd shouts in unison. ~=~=~=~ Several days later, the Royal Parliament meets in chaos. The King was dead, and they had yet to see whether the new Queen and her husband, King Quintus Bassileus Trentor, would be of any good. After some bickering and chaotic rants about the state of the Kingdom, and about whether the Queen or the King should lead during this era, the Queen finally demands silence, her voice echoing throughout the chambers. The bickering lords yield, staring at their new lieges. "Is this what my father would have wanted?!" She shrieks. "OF COURSE NOT! We must work together to rebuild the Kingdom!" The parliament murmurs in agreement, listening intently. "I suggest that Quintus- I mean, the King and I, split responsibilities, and rule as dual monarchs. Though I shall remain the Complete Head of State, he will be of my same status. I shall manage domestic affairs, and he shall manage international and military ones. I ask for the Parliament to approve of this, and allow us to rebuild our Kingdom... These are dark times, but they shall pass soon enough." After a while, the monarchs get a majority vote, and are granted their budget for the process of reconstruction. ((Since this post is getting kinda long, I'm just going to make an actions tab like I did on my first post. :P)) ACTIONS: A new Queen, Queen Marie Trentor, has been crowned in Campestribus, along with her new husband, King Quintus Bassileus Trentor. Parliament issues a committee of powerful Counts and engineers, including the Counts of Xathus and Abalava, to begin rebuilding the villages looted and sacked by the Orcs. (3 Turns, at 1/3rd of the villages being repaired per turn) Preists of Defensor would be dispatched across the land to purify the salted fields, though this may take a while... (3 turns, same as the rebuilding of villages) Until then, Campestribus would buy food from the Iron Dominion or simply harvest Maritime goods by the coast of the sea. Trading pacts are requested from Vyrantium, The Kingdom of Maren, The Dominion of Marste, and Daidrec to help aid in the reconstruction process. A trading pact is also made with the High Fae Kingdom, and is accepted ((As per the last posting by the Fae)). The Queen of Campestribus would call for the Humanic Council to meet a second time, in liberated Lauriacum. ((Maybe a Skype RP this time round to make things easier?)) The vassalization offer from the Iron Dominion is declined. King Quintus Trentor would call for more men to join the Royal Army and form a number of extra legions, aiming to construct a powerful fighting force of 15,000 men, some of them to be recruited from the militia that helped to save Campestribus. Lion Handlers would also be hired, and would be given instructions to find and tame 400 lions for the purposes of military usage (2 turns). The Army of Man stationed on the Northern Border would be at CRITICAL ALERT, sentries and guardsmen watching their fortified positions at night. They would be ready to defend against any invading army coming their way, specifically the Horde of Lur or it's allies. The fleet of Campestribus is recalled, being stationed in Abalava. Repair work begins on the damaged, and destroyed, buildings in Lauriacum. The 4,000 Royal Knights would begin to take squires, and would attempt to replace their fallen comrades (4 turns). The Oracle of Defensor and en envoy of priests would travel to Daidrec's Holy City; she wishes to meet with their Prophet. However, if not received within a short amount of time, she would return to Lauriacum to attend to her duties. They would be on extremely high alert, and the Oracle would use her immense and powerful magics to shield her delegation from any harm that would come to them.

~THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS~ The envoy continues riding, attempting to evade the Fae in pursuit of them. It had been many hours since the chase had first begun, and night had fallen. "KEEP GOING!" The leading knight of the envoy cries, though their horses were tired and his brothers' nerves were on edgie. They had lost many men to the initial arrow barrage, but at least they still had the King. At least the man whom the Dragon King had made them swear to protect was still living. King Kaecillius was slumped over on his horse, looking very weary indeed. "Take five," The knight grumbled, galloping over to the King to check on him. "Your majesty, are you alright?" The King groaned; blood was pouring out of his armor. "I don't think I'm going to make it, Ulfric..." He groaned weakly. "Don't say that," He growled. "I've heard the stories about you... you're a man with strength, your majesty, a man with an utter devotion to his people! You're the leader of one of the HUMAN SUPERPOWERS by the Dragon!" "Doesn't mean I'm any less mortal than you..." He replied, his eyes fluttering. A couple of knights attempt to get him off of his horse, and set him down. But the King has lost too much blood; though one of the knights is a skilled medic, he slowly shakes his head. There was nothing he could do. And the Priest of the Defensor had given himself that his liege might live; there was no magical healer in the envoy now. "Listen... Ulfric..." Kaecillius coughed. "Tell your liege what happened. Tell my people... what happened. Have my future son-in-law, the Legatus Maximus, told the full story... I was killed, on a diplomatic mission by the evil god-King of the Fae of Tamenth. Tell the Oracle of Defensor of him as well... And see my son-in-law and daughter crowned successfully, after this is all over. And... see that I get a d-decent burial in the Tomb of the Kings in Lauriacum..." The King took off his crown, and offered it to the knight. Sir Ulfric took it hesitantly, gently sliding it into his satchel. The King coughed yet again, his face turning white and pale. Finally, he breathed his last, and died. The knight frowned, taking off his helmet in respect of the foreign King. The other knights did the same, before putting them back on. "Right... I'll deliver this to the King's son-in-law, our friend the Legatus Maxi- whatever. Ragnar, ride for Maren and tell his majesty of the terrible thing that has happened here today; spread the word amongst the Human kingdoms. We'll split up, so we can evade these dagger-ears more easily. Ride as fast as you can, and don't stop until you're out of Fae territory." The knights salute their commander, and split into two groups. One intends to take the King's body to Campestribus and tell their Legatus Maximus what had happened, and the other intends to alert the King of Maren and the other Human monarchs of the necromancy-practicing Fae's treachery and of the strange being that they had witnessed. News of the King's murder whilst on diplomatic business therefore would spread, and it is proclaimed that the new King and Queen of Campestribus will be crowned soon. ~=~=~=~ The crown had just been delivered to the Legatus Maximus, Quintus Bassileus, and he was not pleased. Not one bit. Rather, he was quite saddened by his mentor and his friend's death. The King had taken him in as his squire when he was a lone orphan, and had made him his Supreme General based on merit. He had even had trust enough to betroth him to his daughter, the Grand Duchess of Northern Campestribus and the heiress to the Throne. He would rule with her, as King, after this was all over. The thought pleased him, and he smiled underneath his helmet. The Marenian knight had been told to take the crown to Abalava, and have it locked away until Lauriacum had been liberated from it's siege. Word had not yet spread to the people of Campestribus about the King's death, and that at least was good. Morale had to be kept up if they were to win the battle about to take place; the Legatus Maximus goes to consult with the Vyrantian legate, telling him that he'd like to talk to him after the battle. Horses had been delivered to the camp from the Northern-most cities, and had been mounted by a number of the Campestrian legion remnants. They would lead the charge in the coming battle. The army formed three basic lines: the remnants of the Royal Army Legions, numbering 6,000 men, would be placed in the front of the attacking force, mounted on their well-bred steeds. Next the legions of Vyrantium, numbering 12,000 men, would be placed behind them, in the center of the force. Finally the levy men, militia, citizens, and other volunteers that had joined this Army of Men, numbering 8 to 10,000 in all, took the rear, going to support the professional troops in the initial assault. The Legatus Maximus began to speak to the massive army. "Friends... comrades... what we are about to do today, will decide the fate of the Kingdom, and perhaps the entire world. Enslavement and terror, or freedom and restoration. We must fight for our King, we must FIGHT for our Kingdom! WE MUST FIGHT FOR OUR LIVES! They can take our wives as slaves. They can salt our fields. They can kill priests and murder children, but they CANNOT STEAL OUR FREEDOM!" All forces cheer, and begin to march towards the Orcish Horde, intent on freeing Campestribus once and for all from the invaders. They would swing around from the west, and aim to break the siege and push the invaders out of the Kingdom. Nothing more, nothing less. It was time to free the Capital. ~=~=~=~ The old priest of Campestribus would have fallen to his knees of course, after being militated and shot, but he would have said nothing to the god of Tamenth. After being healed a month or so later, he would be summoned again and interrogated. Having no other choice, the old man would begin to mutter the history of Campestribus to the god and tell him of the Defensor. "Over a thousand years ago, a man named Remus Trentor received a vision... from a powerful divinity simply called 'The Defensor'. He is a God of the utmost power, the self-proclaimed protector of our realm. Some believe he is one of the Old Gods whom created this world, though we do not know for sure... He proclaimed that his people were to leave their homeland, the Great Imperium of Vyrantium, a powerful mage-state, and establish their own Kingdom, south of the Great Lake. And so they did so... A series of divine interventions and miracles assisted Remus and his people in their conquests, and they built a grand Kingdom, uniting the bickering lords of the realm. To show his love to his people, he took the new King's wife, and named her his Oracle. Still as young as she was a millennia ago, Defensor speaks through her, and... accomplishes his mortal will through her and his priests. He is reluctant to take action in mortal affairs... but in divine affairs threatening the world that he loves..." The priest is hesitant to say any more.

[Very Short Post] Skilled officers from the now guerrilla-fighting Royal Army Legion remnants would be dispatched by the Legatus Maximus to the ragtag group of soldiers come to their Kingdom's aid, as well as any men they could spare. Their goal would be to train these men in fighting the Horde of Lur, teaching them especially about fighting against their strong calvalry regiments and their war trolls. Though there may not be much time to train, these officers would most certainly do their best to whip this army into shape. A rider would also be dispatched to the Vyrantium legion troops that have recently landed in Abalava, pleading for them to join their forces at their fortified war camp at the edge of the county of Faesullae. Battle shall initiate soon...

~THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS~ Kaecillius frowns, his eyes widening in fright as the middle age man is surprised to find archers attempting to pick off his envoy and his knights. Many fall in the initial attack, including the King's courtiers and personal guard that he'd brought with him from Campestribus. However, a fair number of knights and their steeds would survive, being heavily armored and therefore well-protected against the wooden arrows. Kaecillius was used to making tough decisions on a moment's notice, and he hadn't liked the looks of the Fae of Tamenth to begin with. But this took the cake... As he continued to contemplate what to do, an old Priest of Defensor that had accompanied the King on during his journeys would step forward in front of his liege, his eyes glowing brightly with magical light. "RUN, YOUR MAJESTY!" He would cry, as he throws out his arms and prepares to suicidally combat the wicked god with the magic granted to him by his own god, the monotheistically-worshiped Defensor. He hopes to buy the King and his men some time to escape, at the very least, from that particular direction. The King dashes for the entrance to the temple with two guards who had also entered with he and the old priest, the expertly-trained knights doing their best to avoid fire. The King would notice the troops advancing towards them, cursing the luck of he and the Knights. Arrows would whizz by him, one of which strikes his shoulder through the cracks between his armor. The King yelps in pain, as blood is drawn, and decides it best to not stick around... He would attempt to mount the horse of a dead knight, and order his remaining detachment to retreat as quickly as they possibly can at full speed. A great many knights would have been injured or wounded in the onslaught, but a number of them would have survived, and would accompany the King in his attempt to flee. They would dash towards wherever the road they had entered the city on was located, charging at full speed. They would do their best to avoid the detachments of foot soldiers and archers. The skilled knights' main goal is to escape, and keep the King of Campestribus alive, so they would not engage in any conflict that was avoidable. There would be more casualties along the way, ostensibly but it would also be harder to strike the fast-moving knights as well. If succeeding in their attempt to leave the city, the surviving envoy would attempt to dash southwards as quickly as possible to escape Tamenth. But this may not be so depending upon the layout of the Capital, and even if they did escape, they would still have the King's wound to contend with later... -=-=-=-=- Meanwhile... The Admiral raises an eyebrow. "Legate, Lauriacum is landlocked... we can drop you off as close as Abalava, a city on the Northern coast, but that's the best we can do." He offers the legate a map of the Kingdom. The green dots are explained to be major county cities, the cyan lines as county borders, the yellow dots as deserted towns, and the big red one in the middle as the Capital of the Kingdom. "As far as I know, the Legatus Maximus plans on amassing as much damage as possible upon the Orcs until reinforcements arrive. I know it's not my place, Legate, but it might be wise to attempt to meet with the forces of Campestribus to assist them in their campaign so they can finally do some REAL damage to the Horde." The fleet would set sail for the harbor at Abalava, and upon reaching their destination, would begin the disembarkment process of the legions. Citizens of Abalava would cheer wildly as the legions pass through the city, waving the colors of the Imperium from their windows in respect. -=-=-=-=- Food supplies are getting lower in Lauriacum. About half of them are now depleted after about 5 months of siege. Rations are reduced slightly, therefore, to help buy more time for the Campestriban forces and the aid that their good King had left to amass. Prayers and rituals would continue to be held, and the defending knights and levy men would continue to do their duties defending the city. The Campestriban forces would also continue what they'd been doing until they rallied with the legions from Vyrantium.

~THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS~ King Kaecillius would remain in the Iron Dominion and continue to plead with their leader. As he hears of the troops from Vyrantium en route, he grins widely. Finally things were going his way. However, he frowns deeply upon hearing that they are waiting for the word of the Dominion's leader to move through their territory... Going around the lake might take too long in any case. But then he remembers an order that he had issued a few years back, when coastal raiders had sacked the Dominion of Marste. Perhaps the fruits of that order would now pay off... He sends a courier for the Deliverance, still harbored off the coast of the Great Lake, to go to the port city of Solva, with an order to set sail for Xanthus and bring the recently completed fleet of Campestrian warships to the Great Lakes. Such is done, very easily, as the Orcs had not bothered with the ships in any capacity, nor had they traveled that far south in large enough numbers to do so. After the ships reach the Great Lake, they would set anchor off of the coast of the unclaimed land south of the High Kingdom of the Fae's newly claimed possessions. Kaecillius would send yet another emissary to the armies of Vyrantium outside of the borders of the Iron Dominion, offering them the use of his fleet to ferry their soldiers over to the northernmost county of Abalava and circumvent the Iron Dominion's borders via an amphibious landing if need be. If they decide to do this, the ships would be at their command. One ship also brings back news of the offer sent to Campestribus from the Fae of Tamenth, as well as a number of corpses stashed in the cargo hold. Though Kaecillius finds the request odd, and rather grizzly, he knows that the souls of dead warriors will always go to Defensor's Haven, and decides to leave Sir Richard Laurence in the Iron Dominion to hear their leader's response to his pleas while personally sets out with the wagons of corpses, guarded by the knights from Maren, to the Fae of Tamenth. He would send a horsemen ahead of him to tell them that he accepts their offer, and is sending several wagonloads of corpses as a sign of good will. -=-=-=- THE FIRST HUMANIC CONFERENCE Foreign Minister Tiberius Oswald would have remained at the meeting, to act in the King's stead, with several of Kaecillius's knights that he'd brought along with him from Campestribus. He nods slowly as the Imperial Archon speaks. "Your support is most appreciated and is greatly praised, honorable Archon. My liege will be most pleased! I am sorry that I must act in his stead, but we must act quickly to save Campestrium... For our capital city, Lauriacum, is under siege. As I currently speak for his majesty the King, and he in turn speaks for the Parliament and Lords of Campestribus, I must agree on the provision of being able to have non-Human allies. However, Campestribus, as the King has stated, still wishes to join this alliance, and in fact will." The Foreign Minister crosses his hands behind his back, and would remain silent unless addressed by the Human monarchs. -=-=-=-=- The Legatus Maximus frowns; the woods surrounding the outlying camps had been burned, and their armies had been forced to retreat. Nonetheless, there was another strategy that they could attempt. Still hiding in the woods, just outside of the camps, the traps would be sprung upon a number of the troops of Campestribus, injuring them terribly and even killing a few. However, units and legions soon learn from their mistakes, and casualties from traps soon decrease drastically. The damage is marginal at best to the numbers of the Campestrians. The Campestrian forces would now attempt to target any supply lines coming from the nations supporting the Orcs towards their camp, attempting to make them suffer as the Lauriacans were. Any captured wagons of food would be sent to the various outlying cities that require them with armed escorts in an attempt to extend the amount of time that the cities could remain besieged. Coastal cities would also take the opportunity to fish and capture maritime food due to the low attention paid to them by the Orcs. Of course, there would be the occasional casualty of a fishing party from Orcish raiders, but for the most part, these endeavors would be successful. Couriers share information around the Kingdom's holdings, traveling under the cover of night. Their spirits remain high, especially with the spreading rumor that reinforcements shall soon arrive to save the day, though they generally remain on edge and are fairly nervous. -=-=-=-=- Meanwhile, in Lauriacum... The Lord Chancellor took cover underneath a stall as a catapult stone smashed into the building next door. Archers and crossbowmen on the walls return fire towards the orcs in front of them, as well as various catapults lined up against the walls of the city. Infantry and calvalry alike would have a very hard time reaching the isolated hold, and in any case would be shot down by archers before they ever reached the immense, incredibly deep gap in front of Lauriacum's gates. The Royal House of Trentor, including Queen Metella and Princess Marie, along with the King's advisory that had remained in the city, would remain barricaded in the most well-protected part of the citadel. The population is now miserable, and utterly depressed. They continue, however, to keep hope, and pray to the god Defensor for salvation. The priests and the Oracle continue to perform their rituals... help from Defensor is most surely coming...

THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS King Kaecillius would nod at every word of the Dragon King's speech. However, he would frown very deeply, in fact, almost scowl when he pledges a mere 200 knights to his cause. Kaecillius however keeps his cool, and simply replies, "Thank you, King Lev, for your knights. May House Roost prosper, and may Defensor grant you a long life. I was granted High Crown Authority by Parliment before it was dismissed, due to the war we now find ourselves in, so therefore I have the authority to announce that Campestribus will most certainly join this alliance on the spot, as a show of good faith. Though again, I implore my fellow Kings of Humanity for aid. Any number of troops are appreciated, and indeed, we despirately need them. Campestribus will fight to the last man against these orcs, if need be, but reinforcements would be most valued. The more, the merrier." Suddenly, a courier enters the room, and whispers something in Kaecillius's ear about the besiegement of Lauriacum. His eyes widen, but he keeps a cool expression as he nods slowly. He whispers something back, and the courier salutes him and leaves. Kaecillius quickly mutters, "Defensor Defensus, my kin; I'm sorry that I must make haste from this conference but my Kingdom despirately needs me. I sincerely hope you understand..." Kaecillius puts a fist over his heart, and salutes his fellow Human monarchs before leaving the conference abruptly with his envoy. He would leave his Minister of Diplomacy to act in his stead for the rest of the meeting. All that the middle-aged King could thing of was of his wife and daughter back in Lauriacum... Why had he not taken them with him? He, his envoy, and the 200 knights would ride immediately for the Iron Dominion's capital city en route back to the Kingdom; there the King would personally request an audience with their leader, wishing to implore for military aid ; the King would also be willing to negotiate for support if need be. From the Dominion, several prominent knights would split off of the main column, riding for the nations of Daidrec, The High Kingdom of the Fae, Forgotten Destiny, and any other neutral or friendly nations, planning to also implore for military aid, also promising to negotiate if need be. -=-=-=- Meanwhile, back in Campestribus... Lord Chancellor Quintus Bassileus doesn't have much to do during the siege but watch. But this was clearly not a raid. This was an invasion. The gates and draw bridges of Lauriacum would have been slammed shut immediately tater the last of the villagers in the county entered the capital. Therefore, only a few of the saboteurs would find their mark. And even then, many of the granneries of the grand city were already under guard by the Royal Knights and some of the county levy men. Therefore, only two granneries end up being burnt to the ground; 8 remain, and rationing is immediately issued by city officials. The perpetrators of this crime are immediately executed in the most painful manners, such as having each limb tied to a galloping horse and then being stretched to the extreme. As for morale in the outlying provinces, the villagers of the north, barricaded in the citadels, are terrified at the atrocities of the orcs. Men and women mourn alike as their fields are sewn with salt; they only hope that the Preists of Defensor will conjure up some sort of way to cleanse them in time after the war is over. However, they are far from morally crushed, revenge is in their hearts, and they are furious with the invaders. Meanwhile, Legatus Maximus Marcus Plagnet smiles. The ancient strategy was clicking into place. Snowfall was light in the winter months for the most part in Campestribus; it always had been, and always would be. There would be little trouble with the weather he suspected, and the legions and levy men were well-prepared for it for the most part. The 24th of Vanguard had approached; the time was ready. The 9,000 men of the Royal Army Legions that had been sent out of the Capital county all began to march, in unison with 9,000 more levy men from all major cities of Campestribus on the same day, from all sorts of different directions, towards Lauriacum, leaving 3,000 levy men and hold guards per city to guard each, more than enough to hold off a seige. They would keep silent, and attempt to march at triple-time through the plains and woods in an attempt to remain unnoticed. Any Orcish patrols or small raiding parties they would come across would be slaughtered on sight. As the Kingdom of Campestribus is a huge place, it is unlikely that patrols nor raiding parties would be able to scour every inch of the vast forests and expansive plains, nor would they be able to keep accurate, updated tabs on every single city across 1,000 miles of land, especially with them not knowing the terrain as well as the defending forces. Despite what would happen, the soldiers would remain hidden in the woods. They know the terrain well, and are accustomed to fighting on both plains and woodland battlefields. It would also be difficult for mounted units of any sort to traverse the dense forests; foot soldiers only would be able to enter with speed and ease. Eventually, on the 27th day of Vanguard, the enraged levy men and the skilled legionaries would decide to attack, in unison, from the woods at the cover of night, striking at the rearmost Orcish camps whilst the majority of their men would probably be asleep or enjoying the spoils of war. The 300 Battlemages attached to legions 1-3 would target the trolls of the force with their magics, and also attempt to set fire to their camps with their magics as well. Heavily armored leigonaries and levy men alike would attempt to cause as many casualties as possible before the majority of the orcs could be awakened. Then, after their attacks, each individual force would attempt to retreat back into the woods in a gurillia warfare type manner. They would continue to repeat this strategy, attempting to minimize their casualties whilst maximizing that of the enemy's. -=- Meanwhile... The citizens of Lauriacum would slowly become more aware of their despirate situation. They cry out of the god Defensor and to his Oracle, begging for salvation from the Horde of Lur. The Oracle and his preists engage in ancient rituals, strange as they may be, hoping that their god will come to their aid... (MOD ACTION REQUESTED)
