  1. What honestly shocks me the most about all of this is the OOC manipulation to try and achieve something IC. This is in stark contrast to this: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/123725-a-quick-word-about-lotc-and-the-playerbase/#entry1190926 I think we need to keep in mind how RP should truly be handled. A bit of OOC planning here or there is dandy, but plotting to hide behind barriers to prevent dynamic RP is just disheartening.
  2. Jace begins frantically looking for clothing that isn't related to a military organization. This will prove challenging for him!
  3. The Office of the Levy carefully looks over the applications and reviews each candidate's potential to serve humanity and fulfill Vydra's will. It has been determined that all three individuals are accepted. Jace has a letter mailed to the three individuals: “The Office of the Levy has accepted your primary application! We will arrange for an interview to be conducted at some point in the near future. Vydra wills it!” (( Okay, since we have a large amount of applicants and the recruitment process requires an in-character interview after the primary application, as well as a secondary application for Pledges [and the first few classes get to skip the Pledge phase and go straight to draftee], it has been decided that I will host appointments for the interviews and you go to the ones that fit your schedule. As it stands, there will be an interview TOMORROW, April 9th at 8:30 pm EST. Sorry GMTers, I work tomorrow until that time. I'll be sure to host an interview early EST on Saturday so you all have a chance, too! I'll let you know know the exact time by Friday ))

  5. Jace Evans has always prided himself on being an intellectual soldier. Rather than his main source of purpose being the glory of battle, Jace has focused on lecturing his fellow comrades on discipline and history. As such, Jace had spent much of his time at the Petrus library whenever not in battle or training the 2nd Regiment. Once he exhausted much of the information at the public library, he turned his attention to the library in the keep. In an attempt to stay knowledgeable on history, Jace would scour the bookshelves regularly for new insight on historical battles or personal accounts from past rulers. This often proved fruitful, but hardly life-changing. While not the most glamorous work, he did find past examples of successful military orders and would take note. This went on for years - since before the death of Andrik Vydra. As King Olivier de Savoie took the throne, Jace noted the keep became increasingly crowded with official business. In an effort to not disturb the official proceedings, Jace took to visiting the keep library less often. Months had passed since his last visit. This time, however, something was different. It was the 9th of the Grand Harvest, 1501. Jace walked into the keep and listened. He could not hear the sound of voices in the throne room down the corridor, so he continued on and began scouring the bookshelves as he always had. Jace went about his normal routine, thumbing through the collection of books for a new read. Many of the books were copies from the public library, and there were several books on blood-lines, which interested Jace little. He needed something new: something to better the soldiers he trained so that they may serve humanity more effectively. With so many books around, Jace could only skim as he shuffled through the plethora of information on timelines, wars, military strategy, and so forth. The entire library was clearly well taken care of. But something was off. High up on a shelf near some books Jace had read years ago, there was a thin leather-bound book just laying on top of the others, not lined up vertically as all the other books were. Striking his curiosity, Jace slid a chest near the spot and stood on top of it. Jace squinted as he struggled to read the cover on the journal. Jace perked up upon realizing this was the old journal of the late king Andrik Vydra. Smiling as he remembered the rise of Vydra’s power and the reformation of Oren, Jace carefully opened the book and began to read. It all made sense now. Everything Vydra had been trying to accomplish. Everything Vydra wanted for Oren - for humanity. Jace Evans knew what he had to do.
  6. Jace is beside himself with joy upon hearing this news.
  7. Jace clenches his jaw an nods in agreement with what Publius says. The memory of hearing about Andrik Vydra's demise still burning inside of his head.
  8. Jace stumbles all the way back to Petrus, overloaded with all the loot.
  9. I swear, I feel like this needs to be pinned for all players on LotC to see for months to come. Excellent example of dynamic RP and being a great sport. Mad respect.
  10. Jace nods vigorously at each point the lieutenant makes. Nearing the end of Publius' speech, Jace salutes firmly, joining in with the roars of approval. "HAIL VYDRA!"
  11. Jace shakes his head. "Too late. It's too late for this, now."
  12. Jace blinks through tears. He grits his teeth together and prepares for new orders to arrive. "HAIL VYDRA!"
  13. Jace salutes proudly, beaming with excitement. "Hail Vydra!" "Ave Orenia!"
  14. "TENTATIVELY ACCEPTED! Meet with an officer to conduct an interview and then you shall receive your uniform and equipment."
  15. Jace pauses once the information reaches him that the grand king did not flee from his trapped ship. While happy that yet another enemy had fallen, Jace ultimately felt bittersweet over the news. It is only a matter of time before a new grand king is chosen.
  16. Jace cheers as he leaves the battle. He's a tad let down that it was over so soon. He shouts, "Ave Orenia!"
  17. Jace begins looking for a new tabard in the armory, because his old one is tattered and stained with dwarven blood.
  18. IRL? I'll be job shadowing at a clinic and also volunteering at the hospital. I'll also be using the spare time to get ahead in school stuff. As for LotC? Hopefully some serious character progression! And I'm also procrastinating instead of studying for my biochem midterm, so I know how it feels. :(
  19. Took this test plenty of times over the years. INTJ through-and-through. "The Scientist" most definitely.
  20. Jace would frown. "Golly. Something is not adding up, seeing as many of those men are staunch defenders of holy faith.." He snaps his fingers. "Ah! Propaganda. That's no good."
