  1. Edward shakes his head slightly with a small chuckle. "Brother Osterwald, my point, as simple as it may be. Is that we should allow bishops to start censorship bureaus inside their own dioceses provided the College of Pontiffs or the High Pontiff's signed permission. This is something that will cost us no minas and no manpower, it will only strengthen our influence. If you can clearly point out any flaws then please do so." Edward then turns to Goddard with a small nod of acknowledgement. "Brother Goddard, the main purpose of censoring unholy books would be to protect the people of Oren from books deemed containing topics of heresy. Translations aren't exactly a problem and aren't exactly the target of allowing this. Edward takes a deep breath and looks to the assembled clergymen. "With this in mind could you provide feedback?"
  2. Edward sighs slightly as Osterwald drifts from the topic at hand once again, replying with a couple straightforward sentences. "Brother Osterwald you drift from the topic at hand, speak of purifying the clergy is well enough but I would much rather hear a solution than even more ideas that do rather repeat themselves. We understand you want more men in the clergy alike to you. Perhaps we should converse about solutions now? The idea of censoring unholy books could in fact give bishops and pastors alike more work. Or at least those that prefer more work. In the more active dioceses the bishops could choose to implement such an idea. What I am really suggesting is to make censoring books perfectly legal and approved by the High Pontiff. Whether or not bishops will implement it is up to them. Unless the High Pontiff says otherwise of course. With that in mind could I ask that you give your feedback on this? Thank you." ((Again on the phone))
  3. Edward arches a brow inquisitively as he hears out the two's arguments. First Edward targets his words towards Osterwald. "Brother Osterwald, as much as I respect you, you really must understand that you often act quite naive in this situation. If we distribute holy books then they are prone to alteration or destruction. Our goal is to teach the masses of Oren about the one and true Faith and the Doctrine of One. Giving these persons raw passages of the Holy Scrolls will not work. They may interpret it falsely. Most men cannot be trusted to have the Holy Scrolls in their own possession." Edward nods once to Osterwald as he finishes his small speech, he then turns to Boiendl with a slight glare evident in his eyes. "Your Eminence, first of all I don't understand where you received the idea that I proposed a separate branch. I specifically said that I was proposing it as an extra duty for bishops to perform. Second, your vulgarity used did nothing but prove that you truly had no evidence proving your accusations. It was definitely unneeded and you should at least try to refrain from using such vulgar language, especially when trying to prove a point concerning the Creator and the Faith. I hope you consider what I said, thank you." ((Sorry for the lack of color and poor writing, on my phone.))
  4. Peasant revolts were quite common in Western Europe when serfdom was just starting to collapse, I believe there was a very large British rebellion that almost took the throne but the leader was killed right before. As I am viewing so far, the Carrions are promoting Eastern European serfdom, for what I must applaud them for.
  5. Oh I know, I was simply referring to the well known phrase, "Princes of the Church."
  6. Simon de Montfort smiles slightly upon hearing the crier, he fetches his horse and rides to Auvergne.
  7. High ranking clergy such as bishops can easily be considered equivilent to nobleman.
  8. ((I too was planning on posting my version of this, but this does clarify the Faith for the majority of the people, thank you Mog. Also have to note, Orenian natives would likely know this anyways from priests who preach. (Assuming that char was born in Oren)))
  9. Edward raises a brow upon seeing that and nods approvingly. ((OOC Note: Please leave a comment here when you do apply so we know when to check for responses, thank you.))
  10. A leftenburgian magistrate posts the seal of acceptance underneath the application.
  11. Edward nods once, the light of realization shining in his eyes, after blinking it away he walks back to the altar to address a more minor problem. "Thank you very much Brother Goddard for the very much heartfelt speech. I now would like to address a small situation. Due to the increasing number of books as the economy starts to slowly recover, perhaps we should make a small program of censorship? Task bishops with yet another trivial problem. If some books carrying false and dangerous ideas grip the public of Oren then we could very well lose many devout believers to the whispers of these false preachers, expanding their ideology through the power of word. Yes I know we have much to address but I think we should get these sort of mundane matters out of hands first. Thank you for listening."
  12. Edward, quite fed up with being ignored by the whole conclave slowly walks over to a pew and sits down with a sigh. Edward then mumbles a word or two to himself, "We will never accomplish any of this should we continue on this foolish path of stating what actions we should take. We stand here idly and discuss what we should do, we are not finding solutions or helping the impoverished."
  13. The votes have been cast and the elections have come to a close. A leftenburgian magistrate posts the final results. "The first election has come to a close, leaving Vlad of Nectar as our new mayor with 60% of the votes."
  14. Royal Chaplain Edward nods to the altar boy signaling he wishes to speak a little. The altar boy waves him up hurriedly, Edward waddles over to the altar and wipes a bead of sweat off his forehead as he prepares his speech. "Brothers of the Faith, I am Edward of Salvus, the Royal Chaplain, as appointed by King James the First. I have been trying to rid Salvus of heresy with my best abilities. Though I have found that though I have done much work in this field, the heretics will never halt their preaching and insulting of the Creator unless we retaliate. We must bring a halt to this blasphemy and crush the heresy in this kingdom. I request that we turn our attention to Salvus and that we may establish a tribunal or regulate citizenship forms more carefully, maybe even other methods of ridding this now-corrupt city of heresy. For far too long has it been impeded by the moral corruption as result of the heresy, blasphemy and other wicked sins. I ask you all to turn your attention to our own walls and ask yourself what we shall do, how we will take action against these wicked crimes against our Faith. Thank you for listening."
  15. Royal Chaplain Edward can't help but tap his fingers together with a menacing grin spread across his face, hunched over his desk and reading these letters he mutters out, "Even more power to me..."
  16. Royal Chaplain Edward, before getting out of his house for his small stroll around Salvus, he always checked his mail. After opening the small letter signed by the Stafyr family, he couldn't help but let a frown appear upon his face from the news. "Godwein was a good man, may he rest in peace. Also I can't help from feeling disappointed at the deaths and resignations that have been going on in the past year."
  17. I just realized something, soulstones can save the Oren capital. Yay!

  18. Edward, upon hearing of Goddard's speech nods with a good amount of agreement. Converting the rest of the human race, that being the halflings, sounded like honey in Edward's ears. He stood up with a polite and sharp nod to the clergymen adjacent to him. "Brother Goddard, I definitely agree with your current opinion on this situation. I believe the halfling refusal is something which must be frowned upon by the church. If needed I would be happy to lend my services to help the conversion efforts, I believe my experience in conversion could go a long way in these sort of situations. Thank you." Upon finishing with a small nod, he gazes around at the small crowd briefly before continuing on with a response to Osterwald. "Brother Osterwald, as much as I respect your peaceful views I must step in and say that we should not for a second back down. We shouldn't lower the church in tolerance of those who falsely believe. If anything, we should make sure that all follow the path of wisdom so that their souls may be saved. If we back down and allow those who can spread moral corruption and preach of false faith in our presence then we are as good as useless." [[sorry for the poor writing, I'm currently on a plane.]]
  19. Well it isn't necessarily wrong but I don't see ANY evidence proving Creationism. Please show me what evidence PROVES it exists. I don't want long quotations slandering evolutionism, I want hard and solid facts. That isn't exactly true, I am quite influenced by religion, I simply find no excuse or proof or evidence stating any reason or explanation on as why I should believe in Creationism.
