  1. what do you reckon the server needs to improve? That's a fairly broad question I know but I was talking about it earlier with some folks, and even with the potential for wars soon we kind of agreed that wouldn't fix all of the server's problems. So in an ideal world, what would you do James?
  2. Statement from the NIKIRALA PRIKAZ KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM Issued by the CROWN On this 10th day of Tov and Yermey of 394ES VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG EDLERVIK On this day of Tov and Yermey, the Crown announces the birth of Edvard Arjen Bihar, Grand Prince of Kusoraev and heir the throne of Hanseti-Ruska. Prinzen Edvard Arjen was born as the late-summer sun broke across the Rimeveld, and entered through the window of Queen Emma and King Sigismund in the residential wing of the Nikirala Prikaz. Following a night of labour and contractions, the babe was delivered by Prinzenas Petra Emma, sister to the King, just before breakfast prayers were to be held in the Basilica. Upon delivery of the infant Grand Prince, Prinzenas Petra noticed problems with the babe's vitals as she realized that Prinzen Edvard Arjen's rate of breathing was rapidly decelerating. Initial medical assessments were carried out by the Prinzenas, but the pace at which the babe's lungs weakened proved too great for anything to be done. Approximately seven minutes after his birth, Edvard Arjen Bihar, Grand Prince of Kusoraev, passed away in the arms of his aunt, Prinzenas Petra, before he could be held by his father. IV JOVEO MAAN His Royal Majesty SIGISMUND III by the Grace of Godan, King of Hanseti and Ruska, Grand Hetman of the Army, Prince of Bihar, Dules, Lahy, Muldav, Solvesborg, Slesvik and Ulgaard, Duke of Carnatia and Vanaheim, Margrave of Korstadt, Rothswald and Vasiland, Count of Alban, Alimar, Baranya, Graiswald, Karikhov, Karovia, Kaunas, Kavat, Kovachgrad, Kvasz, Markev, Nenzing, Torun, and Toruv, Viscount of Varna, Baron of Esenstadt, Kraken’s Watch, Kralta, Krepost, Lorentz, Rytsburg, Thurant, Venzia and Astfield, Lord of the Westfolk, Protector of the Highlanders, etcetera.
  3. Veinir Bulava BESTOWING OF THE BULAVA KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM Issued by the CROWN On this 6th day of Vzmey and Hyff of 394ES VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG EDLERVIK For generations, the Lord Palatine - and, on one occasion, the Lady Palatine - has served as the greatest power in the Kongzem of Haense, second only to the Crown themselves, and the position has evolved drastically over time before assuming its modern role as head of the Aulic Council. Throughout the storied history of the Office, which is fully documented in the Archives by the Royal Scribe, the appointment of the Lord Palatine has typically been reduced to a mere verbal announcement or, at best, a writ of appointment. In pursuit of championing the Sigismundic Era of culture and tradition in Haense, the Crown seeks to harken back to the days of King Stefan I for inspiration in establishing a proper ceremony to appoint the Lord Palatine befitting of the gravity of the Office. Thus, the Crown is pleased to codify the Bestowal of the Bulava (Naumariav: Veinir Bulava). BESTOWAL OF THE BULAVA I. The Bestowal shall always take place at sunrise before the Throne. II. The man, or woman, to be Palatine shall attend in the company of (1) their spouse, (2) the head of their family, and (3) any children they have sired. III. As dawn breaks, the man or woman who would be Palatine kneels before the Crown, and a gong is sounded to signal the following recital: Crown: Who is this who comes seeking the Golden Bulava? Palatine: I come as [name], of the House/family of [family name]. Crown: Why do you seek the Golden Bulava, [Palatine name]? Palatine: I seek it not for glory, nor do I seek it for honour, nor for power. Crown: Then why? Palatine: I seek it not for my own sake, but for the people of Hanseti and Ruska, so that I might answer Godan's calling to build for them a world in which harvests are plentiful, in which their might is assured, and in which the golden crow flies with pride. Crown: To do so is to live not for yourself, but for your Kongzem. To assume this duty is to the neglect of all others. Palatine: This I know. IV. The gong chimes again. The head of the Palatine's House or family steps forward and places a hand on their right shoulder as the recital continues. Crown: The burden of the Bulava weighs heavier than all others. Do you accept it, to the neglect of your family, their dreams, and goals? Palatine: This I know, and I accept. V. The gong chimes again. The Palatine's spouse, should they have one, steps forward and places a hand on their left shoulder as the recital continues. Crown: The hardships of the Bulava strike truer than all others. Will you weather them, to the neglect of even all else you hold dear? Palatine: This I know, and this I accept. VI. The gong chimes again. The Palatine's children, should they have any, step forward and place their hands on the Palatine's back as the recital continues. Crown: The demands of the Bulava tax greater than all others. Will you answer them, to the neglect of other dreams? Palatine: This I know, and this I accept. VII. The gong sounds one final time as the Crown approaches the kneeling Palatine with the Golden Bulava. Crown: These costs you know, and these costs you accept. To live as Palatine is to live for others, more than any Knight. It is to dream and work for others, more than any Priest. It is to fight for others, more than any Soldier. To live as Palatine is to sacrifice yourself. Palatine: This I know, and this I accept, without doubt, fear, nor hesitation. VIII. The Crown offers the Golden Bulava to the Palatine, and both the Palatine stands with the Bulava in hand, which remains held also by the Crown. Crown: Then you are named Lord/Lady Palatine of the Kongzem of Hanseti and Ruska. Your fate and life is woven to her people and Lady Haense and surely as mine. Be welcome in my Kongzem, truest brother/sister. IX. The Crown and the Palatine clasp forearms without bowing as a sign of mutual respect, and the Bestowal is complete.

Not only is he to be commemorated for his years of service, but also his outstanding merit as administrator of the Royal Capital, for which the Crown intends to have the Lord Palatine forward his name to the Royal Duma for entry into the Order of Queen Maya and the Lily. 6. Transcript of the ROYAL COURT OF 394ES KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM Held on this 10th day of Wzuvar and Byvca of 394ES Matters of the Court I. Retirement of the Lord Seneschal II. Retirement of the Lord Treasurer III. Retirement of the Lord Palatine IV. Pregnancy of Queen Emma V. Petition of Herzen Ailred Ruthern on Tutelage & Soldiers' Pay VI. Petition of Ser Aleksandr Vyronov for a private audience VII. Petition of Firr Feodor May on Tutelage VIII. Appearance of a Ghost I RETIREMENT OF THE LORD SENESCHAL Adrian Colborn: "The Koeng, Sigismund III enters. May everyone remain silent as court is in session." Sigismund III: "Va birodeo herzenav ag edlervik. This sitting of the Royal Court is now in session, then. Well, let's niet tarry, shall we? Vy are all welcome. We've a few matters of state before the Crown shall receive petitioners, be there any. Now, then. Where is Firr Castaway? Ah, there vy are. I did niet recognize vy with that blue tag. Vy have news for us." Fionn Castaway: "Tá, I do. I wish to announce my retirement as High Seneschal. It's been an honour to serve both tú and túr father in this role, though I feel the time has come that I pass on the role to someone else." Sigismund III: "Naturally. I meant to ask vy when vy first told me … But why is it vy have chosen now?” Fionn Castaway: “I'd like to think I have sufficiently done my part in the service of this nation, and I'm getting old. I think it's about time I enjoy retirement.” Sigismund III: “Well, what say the people of Haense? Can the Court hear an 'Ai' for Firr Fionn's retirement?” Rhys var Ruthern: “Get him outta here.” Ser Ailred var Ruthern: “Ai!” Ser Reinhardt Barclay: “AI” Rhys var Ruthern: “Ai!” Anders Cardinal Jorenus: “Nie.” Charles Darkwood: “Ai!” Emma Karenina: “Ai!” Otto August: “Get him out of here and send him somewhere nice for vacation!” Dracomir Rorikov: “Nie!” Erwin Bishop: “AI!” Anoushka Solovyov: “Ai!” Raijen Stars: “Yes!” Filip Dmitry: “Ai.” Sigismund III: “The people of Haense have spoken. I sentence vy to a Valwyck fishing boat.” Otto August: “WAIT NIE DO NIET LET HIM LEAVE. HE'S HAD THE HIGHEST AMOUNT OF HOUSE SALES IN HAESENI HISTORY.” Anders Cardinal Jorenus: “Ve torture.” Kaustantin Baruch: “Ai.” Adrian Colborn: “It seems you've a new duty to uphold then, my old friend. May you stay in the boat until the alcohol wears off, returning once sober.” Sigismund III: “Alas, a good race horse does niet stay fast forever. Eventually, it grows old and vy have to put it do - … uhrr, let it retire. Before vy are dismissed, vy have assured me vy have chosen a successor. A successor vy will stake vyr honour on, lest I pull vy from vyr fishing boat.” Fionn Castaway: “Of course, Túr Majesty. I have chosen Ser Reinhardt Barclay as my successor. He's been in the office longer than I, and his work ethic for the job has been admirable. I'm sure he'll be more than a sufficient successor.” Sigismund III: “Ser Reinhardt ... And does the Meyster Knight share vyr confidence?” Ser Reinhardt Barclay: “Ja, Ihre Majesty, ich do.” Muhammad Hassan: “As-salamu alaykum, brothers and sisters.” Sigismund III: “Dobry. Vy, then, shall honour Firr Fionn's trust in vy to succeed him, and vy shall niet disappoint him. And vy shall niet disappoint me. Agreed?” Ser Reinhardt Barclay: “Du have mein word, ihre Majesty.” Sigismund III: “Dobry. We'll speak later, then. Vy two may resume vyr positions.” II RETIREMENT OF THE LORD TREASURER Sigismund III: “Now … the Bossir Morovar, I believe, has a similarly riveting tale.” Otto August: “Certainly niet as long as Fionns nor as exciting.” Sigismund III: “Out with it, then.” Otto August: “Similarly to Mister Fionn I will too be request a very early retirement, though the time was only interim. Of course after I finish up with outstanding work I will be roughly about sixty-nine days interim as Treasurer… should I be released” Sigismund III: “Just shy of seventy, what a shame …. Dobry. Vyr interim appointment was a great boon in getting things in order, as vy well know. Spasiba, Bossir.” Ser Karl Ruslan Amador: “A dobry number.” Sigismund III: “As for the next Lord Treasurer … The seat shall remain vacant for a time. The Crown is sufficiently equipped to handle finances itself until a suitable candidate is found." Otto August: “We'll shat surely after the four very necessary additional saints days….” Sigismund III: “So ai, spasiba, Bossir. That is all.” III RETIREMENT OF THE LORD PALATINE & DISPATCH OF THE KNIGHT PARAMOUNT Sigismund III: “Two down, three to go …. Oh, whoever might be next …” Adrian Colborn: “Aye, I wonder.” Sigismund III: “Do vy have something to tell us, Firr Adrian?” Adrian Colborn: “Perhaps, perhaps I do. I fear I too am all but too ravaged by time. I was an adventurer once, perhaps even intended to be a scribe. Such changed by your Papej's command. I've worked with many fine men and women It is only right the new generation is allowed a stage to perform, is it not?” Sigismund III: “Ah. I … can imagine it is nie easy thing to assume a duty vy did niet want under surprising circumstances.” Adrian Colborn: “Worry not my Koeng, as we have since the ancient pact upon a fateful day in the winter wastes of Athera. We, the Raven shall always stand beside the crow. It is our duty, no matter where you wish us to be to serve, humble as we are, selfless in dispostion, unless you are Casimir of coure. That blasted black sheep! So what say you my Koeng?” Sigismund III: “And … it's clear vy sacrificed much for it." The King stood from the throne, and extended a hand to the Lord Palatine to shake. Adrian Colborn: “Now, now you're all sentimental my boy. Didn't take you for the type.” Sigismund III: “Spasiba, Adrian Colborn. Alas … we have nie time to dwell in sentimentalism as is. The Knight Paramount has just recieved word that Cillin Castaway and possibly some others are pinned down fighting a Minotaur in the Ruins of Krusev. Ser Karl - vy are to ride out to their aid, of course. If any of this Court seek to prove themselves or fulfil their oaths, vy are to venture out with Ser Karl. Gather now in the foyer and depart.” Ser Ailred var Ruthern: “Ser Karl, letter if need be.” The Knight Paramount rallied a party and departed to Krusev. Sigismund III: “Godspeed to Ser Karl's retinue. But there is nie need to disrupt this Court and our remaining matters. Firr Adrian. Vy have a successor to nominate?” Adrian Colborn: “I don't, for I believe it most important for the Koeng to choose the Palatine. It is you who will spend countless hours working besides them, as well as have them represent you, in all matters you don't So, I am curious. What will be your decision your Majesty?” Sigismund III: “Of course. This is why I say 'nominate', Firr. Alas, I digress ... Kaustantin Baruch. Do niet **** it up.” Kaustantin Baruch: “Iv Joveo Maan, ea won't.” Sigismund III: “See to it vy do niet. We'll have an induction ceremony later this year, for now the hour grows late and we've still business yet to do.” IV PREGNANCY OF QUEEN EMMA Sigismund III: “ … Now, then. There is one other matter for the Crown to divulge, and it is niet talks of retirement, or Minotaurs … But it may well be one of successors. The time has come to announce that Godani has blessed our royal union with a child to be.” Ser Ailred var Ruthern: “Krusae Zwy Kongzem!” Annika Anastasija: “Thank Godani!” Eleanora Amador: “Krusae zwy Kongzem.” Filip Dmitry: “Dobry, dobry.” Tatiana Kortrevich: “I knew it!” She'd exclaim, recalling the Ruthern dinner. Feodor May: “Little princes grow up quick….” Vasilia Reza Kortrevich: “AEDYMAMEJ AM HAVING A CHILD?” The ward shouted out due to pure shock. Sigismund III: “Godan willing, the child who may be our heir shall be born just before the Autumn of 394ES … Godan willing. Well, then. That concludes news from the Throne.” V PETITION OF HERZEN AILRED RUTHERN ON WARDSHIP & SOLDIERS' PAY Sigismund III: “Should there be any petitioners, they are welcome to come before the Crown now.” Herzen-Knight Ailred Ruthern, Lord Marshal of Haense, presented himself before the Throne. Ser Ailred var Ruthern: “Vyr Royal Majesties." Sigismund III: “How swift, vyr Grace. Be welcome before the Throne and speak vyr peace.” Ser Ailred var Ruthern: “Ea first, hearing of this dobry news, must congratulate vy both -- the first child is always the most cherished, so enjoy it, truly. Hence, ea offer my wardship over vyr child, if vy would accept me. Like ea did with vy, in vyr youth, Vyr Royal Majesty. Ea taught vy well, did ea niet?” Sigismund III: “Rest assured, cherished it shall be. Wardship? That vy most certainly did. It's because of vy I wear this sword proudly. “Nie one else, vyr Grace, could possibly get someone like me past the second round of a tournament. So, ai. It would be nie less our honour to have our child ward beneath vy.” Ser Ailred var Ruthern: “Spasiba, Vyr Royal Majesties. Ea assure the child's education and safety to be in capable hands.” Sigismund III: “Nie assurances are necessary. Spasiba, vyr Grace.” Ser Ailred var Ruthern: “But ea do have one last petition, Vyr Royal Majesty. All of this retirement has me pondering. . . Ea have been in the Crown's employment for fifteen upcoming years. And ea have another fifteen in this carcass of mine. But ea refuse, lest the damage of the late-late treasurer be undone, Vyr Royal Majesty.” Sigismund III: “Damage?” Ser Ailred var Ruthern: “My soldiers have died for this country, yet their pay was drawn down by five to ten mina pieces per rank in the military. This was done overnight, with nie word to me or anybody else, by the late-late treasurer. Ea ask that all of my soldiers be alloted this pay back.” Sigismund III: “Ah. Our finances have had quite the reversal since the turn of the decade. Bossir Otto. Vy are Treasurer for four more days … Come, tell the Court of our financial state." Bossir Otto August, Lord Treasurer of Haense, joined Herzen Ailred before the Throne. Otto August: “I briefly mentioned how Mister Fionn has been one of the most successful Seneschals in Haeseni history, which is true. Within the length of the last saints month the Kongzem has made an incredible amount of mina surpassing all previous records. House purchases are reaching an all time high, taxes are as steady as ever, and overall the Kongzem is in an upsoar thanks to all of Her denizens. Within the last four years the Kongzem has made fifteen thousand mina profit. Coming after military pay and unlike neighbors we do niet tax vassals. Quite incredible.” Sigismund III: “ … Safe to say, then, Marshal, vyr request is more than possible. Vy will make the adjustments to the payroll before vy leave Office, Bossir Otto.” Otto August: “I will take the next four Saint Days to do so.” Sigismund III: “An overdue spasiba to the Brotherhood. Spasiba for bringing this to my attention, Marshal.” Ser Ailred var Ruthern: “Ea serve this country for prestige and passion, Vyr Royal Majesty -- nie doubt though, my soldiers will adore this adjustment. That is all." VI PETITION OF SER ALEKSANDR VYRONOV FOR A PRIVATE AUDIENCE Sigismund III: “And who is this ghost that comes next?” Ser Aleksandr Vyronov, retired Knight of the Marian Retinue, came before the Throne. Ser Aleksandr Vyronov: “Vyr Royal Majesties. . . “Prevja. . . I eh - Will niet take up much of vyr time. . . I ask for a private audience with vy after court, Vyr Majesty.” Sigismund III: “As is vyr privilege.” Ser Aleksandr Vyronov: “Spasibo, Vyr Majesty. I will await vyr presence after court.” Sigismund III: “Lord Kaustantin - vy are to show the Knight out to the private gardens when we are done.” VII PETITION OF FIRR FEODOR MAY ON TUTELAGE Sigismund III: “And then we have the Hauchmaer. Prevja, Firr Feodor. Vy are looking most white.” Feodor May: “Prevja vyr Majesty.” Sigismund III: “What do vy seek to petition before the Crown?” Feodor May: “First and foremost I wish to congratulate vy and vyr beloved with the news of vyr heir being underway. Similarly, I come before vy today niet on any matter of my position as Hauchmaer, but as vyr former tutor. I'd like to offer my services in teaching vyr heir once they are old enough.” Sigismund III: “Heh.” Muhammad Hassan: “Heh!” Sigismund III: “I would entrust his academic education to nie one else. I still remember our first lessons, and our first books. I still remember the story of poor Ratibor.” Feodor May: “Dobry to hear, vyr Majesty, spasiba.” Sigismund III: “Spasiba, Firr Feodor.” VIII APPEARANCE OF A GHOST "Aren", a masked warrior, approached the Throne. "Aren": “Your Majesty. I have but a humble petition I would like to share.” Sigismund III: “A pity. I do enjoy grand and lofty ones. But who are vy to come before the Crown, armoured and masked?” "Aren": “I am Haensei. The Northern blood runs through my veins. However- that blood now runs cold. My fate has been met, and yet I still stand. I wish to live as I did without the threat of being purged.” "Aren" removed his helmet to reveal his armour to be completely hollow inside. Ser Ailred var Ruthern: “Undead!” Annika Anastasija: “Godan…” Muhammad Hassan: “Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala!” "Aren": “As to be expected. I didn't mean to scare anyone, my apologies.” Annika Anastasija: “Someone arrest him and set up a pyre!” Muhammad Hassan: “Astaghfirullah! He is kindred of Shaitan.” Raijen Stars: “Can you even burn a ghost?” Sigismund III: “Why?” Muhammad Hassan: “He is here to do Shaitan's bidding. The devil has sent him. A spawn of Iblees!” Annika Anastasija: “This man is a sin against nature and Godani!” Feodor May: “Eh, just one of the ghosts in this palace….” "Aren": “I wish not to live in secrecy. If I were to die here, I would return to the mortal plane, I've no choice in the matter. But I would not return here. The only thing that has changed is my morality.” Muhammad Hassan: “He admits!” "Aren": “Therefore, I beseech thee, my allegiance and pride still remains in the country that I once resided in.” Annika Anastasija: “This is a Godani fearing Kongzem. Vy should niet think we would allo such a sin to live among us.” Kaustantin Baruch: “What makes such a creature want to indure pain rather than leave to the afterlife?” Annika Anastasija: “If vy were truly Haeseni, vy would have passed into the Seven Skies and been welcomed in through Godani's arms. Vy are a sin!” Anders Cardinal Jorenus: “Nie, niet all apparitions are sinful.” Otto August: “Some get stuck...” Sigismund III: “How can it niet be, Cardinal? Speak quickly.” "Aren": “My existence is out of my control. However, what is in control are my own actions.” Anders Cardinal Jorenus: “Some dead that appear are an apparition that may have come from ve Skies, as it is written in Canon Law. But there are some that comes to haunt ve living.” Sigismund III: “If vy canniet tell one from the other, Cardinal ….” Annika Anastasija: “He is an abomination.” Sigismund III: “ … Then we have nie choice but to err on the side of caution.” Anders Cardinal Jorenus: “What was vyr previous life, ghost?” "Aren": “My previous life was as a squire, and a member of the Brotherhood. My name is Aren.” The Court gasped, for they remembered the Brother named Aren. Sigismund III: “What!?” Anders Cardinal Jorenus: “Yet vy look as if vy were a cultist.” Annika Anastasija: “Sigismund, this is nie right. He should niet be allowed here, especially with vyr unborn child present.” "Aren": “It is true that I am an abomination, but my choice in the matter is not my own. I leave it to your judgement to kill me as I stand, or let me live. My alliegence changes not either way.” Ser Ailred var Ruthern: “In life, Vyr Royal Majesty, he proclaimed my wife; as dead as dirt." Sigismund III: “ … For all we know this specter killed Aren. For all we know .” Otto August: “I do niet think an apparation with ill intent would reveal itself within a courtroom nearly decorated with guards.” Kaustantin Baruch: “Aren's soul may rest if we kill this abomination.” Sigismund III: “It is the same ghost that terrorized Haense twenty years ago, and killed my mamej, for all we know. So, Specter. Vy claim vy will niet die. If this is true, then we shall see what to make of vy upon vyr return … So, let us see if it is true.” Herzen Ailred, Anders Cardinal Jorenus, and brave Muhammad Hassan struck the ghost until its mail collapsed, empty. Anders Cardinal Jorenus: “May he rest easy in ve Seven Skies.” Sigismund III: “Ailred. Pass me the helmet, would vy?" The Lady Vasilia Kortrevich collapsed in the arms of Lady Eleanora Amador in fright. Eleanora Amador: “Lord Ruthern, if vy would do me the favor of finding a medic.” Rhys var Ruthern: “Dear Godan, did the undead get her?” Annika Anastasija: “Sigismund be careful.” Anders Cardinal Jorenus: “How did ve ghost get in here? Is there niet aurum lining ve front door?” Eleanora Amador: “Nie! Get a medic, she's fainted.” Annika Anastasija: “There is. I had it placed myself.” Sigismund III: “Cardinal. Vyr free to inspect the rest of the mail, if it would do vy any good.” Ser Ailred var Ruthern: “A relic to be had, Vyr Royal Majesty. Sin is to be cast out, nie matter the cost, or words judged for it. Hang it in an aurum cabinet.” Kaustantin Baruch: “May his journey to the Seven Skies be a peaceful one.” Annika Anastasija: “Perhaps we could have a prayer?” Sigismund III: “May there be one at all.” Anders Cardinal Jorenus: “Da.” Anders Cardinal Jorenus led the Court in prayer. Anders Cardinal Jorenus: “O' Godani, ve Most Merciful, it is by Vyr mercy ag by Vyr virtue that we all live dutifully. All sins we commit, we seek absolution truly. Ensure that this apparition rests easy in ve Seven Skies, for we are all guilty of sin. Let all those here find peace in their homes, so that they may continue living virtuous lives so that they may bring themselves close to Vy. Amin.” Sigismund III: “ … I think that is enough excitement for one Court. Thus, we shall adjourn. Go in peace -- Krusae zwy Kongzem.”
  7. VALKSKEJ | PEACE OF THE SWORD HAESENI TRADITION OF TREATY SIGNING KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM Issued by the CROWN On this 14th day of Joma and Umund of 393ES VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG EDLERVIK It is the great dream of the Crown to continue the revival and development of Haeseni culture throughout his reign, chiefly through reforming aspects of Haeseni society that have been heavily influenced by the practices of other nations, such as the inspiration the Oren Revised Code served to the Haurul Caezk at its inception owing to the Kongzem of Haense's vassalization under the Holy Orenian Empire until the Edict of Separation in 339ES, or aspects moulded by mere practicality such as the signing of international treaties. It is this latter example that this Edict seeks to address. While pacts and agreements have and always shall be founded on honour and reputation, the treaties of today are veiled in lengthy texts and veiled in flowery language that reflect little of Haeseni ideals. Therefore, the Crown seeks to adopt the tradition of Valkskej - the peace of the sword - originally used by the ancient Voliks as a new method of signing international agreements that properly embodies Lady Haense. After studying Volik oral tradition and Haeseni scrolls retrieved by the crew of the Geltenkaros during the Athera Expedition to Siegrad, it pleases the Crown to announce the following as the new form of treaty signing for the Kongzem of Haense; I. When an agreement between sovereign nations is imminent, the Crown, or their Envoy, shall task a Haeseni smith to forge a ceremonial sword that reflects the identity of both nations; II. When this agreement is signed, alongside a physical document bearing the exact terms and signatures of the sovereigns, the ceremonial sword shall be presented; III. Both sides shall take a chisel, and inscribe a deep notch into the blade of the sword; IV. Once the notch is made, the sovereign shall cut their hand to wet the notch with their blood as a symbol of commitment; V. Once notched and bloodied, the sword shall be christened a name, typically in a fashion that resembles the name of the treaty; VI. The sword shall then be displayed in the vestibule of the Nikirala Prikaz for all to see and know the allies of the Kongzem. [EXAMPLE] It is the hope of the Crown that the Valkskej will mark the first of many Haeseni rituals that shall come to the forefront in defining the Sigismundic Era of Haense.
  8. Why now? It was not the first time that Sigismund III has asked himself that question. He stood at the balcony of his bedchamber, in his shirtsleeves, and shivered as the night wind pricked at his forearms and neck while he watched the light of lanterns on Trelkastriet. Reports of the Azdrazi had existed for decades. Some of the reports even placed Azdrazi as aides to Haense during the war against the Rimetrolls. So, why now? Why were attacks against the Church happening now? Why was this group, who were documented as existing for decades, making moves now? The only thing Sigismund knew was that he was missing a piece of the puzzle.
  9. Letter to the Royal Duma: THE HAURUL CAEZK KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM Issued by the CROWN On this 11th day of Tov and Yermey of 393ES VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG ALDYLEVAR More than half a century has passed since the Haurul Caezk was published in haste by the Aulic Government of Koeng Josef I following the Kongzem's abrupt separation from the Holy Orenian Empire. At its inception, the Haurul Caezk was a lawbook largely inspired by Orenian law that had been in effect in Haense up until independence, and the haste of its authors in publishing it to provide the Kongzem with a functioning set of laws left little room for Haeseni ideals, culture, and spirit. Since then, the Haurul Caezk - already a lengthy lawbook at its publishing - has grown tremendously with Bills of varying quality. Today, a Haeseni would have to devote much of their life to the study of the lawbook in order to properly understand it. The Crown thinks this neither proper of the Haeseni spirit, nor suitable for the use of the Haeseni people. As such, the Crown asks the Royal Duma to debate the following across the Sittings to come: Is the Haurul Caezk suitable for modern Haense?: Are its provisions too lengthy, too Orenian in identity, and do they accurately reflect Haeseni ideals? Is the Haurul Caezk practical?: Can its provisions can understood by the average citizen? Does it force a citizen to seek out a jurist just to digest the law? Is the Aulic Court fit for purpose?: In light of the above considerations, what then is the place of the Aulic Court, the Justiciar, and the Jovenaars? Are trials too lengthy, and too bureaucratic? Is there a possibility of a Haeseni trial grounded in culture and unique elements? The Crown does not expect the Royal Duma to answer all these questions in one Sitting, and instead advises the Duma to consider these points throughout the reminder of the XXXIII Session. IV JOVEO MAAN His Royal Majesty SIGISMUND III by the Grace of Godan, King of Hanseti and Ruska, Grand Hetman of the Army, Prince of Bihar, Dules, Lahy, Muldav, Solvesborg, Slesvik and Ulgaard, Duke of Carnatia, Margrave of Korstadt, Rothswald and Vasiland, Count of Alban, Alimar, Baranya, Graiswald, Karikhov, Karovia, Kaunas, Kavat, Kovachgrad, Kvasz, Markev, Nenzing, Torun, and Toruv, Viscount of Varna, Baron of Esenstadt, Kraken’s Watch, Kralta, Krepost, Lorentz, Rytsburg, Thurant, Venzia and Astfield, Lord of the Westfolk, Protector of the Highlanders, etcetera.
  10. On the First Sitting of the XXXIII Duma KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM Issued by the CROWN on this 11th day of Tov and Yermey of 393ES VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG ALDYLEVAR The Crown commits to these communications following each Sitting of the Royal Duma to both engage with its Officers and to commit to action, or explain omission, regarding its advices and bills. Regarding the First Sitting of the XXXIII Duma, the following is decreed: The Azdrazi Inquistion Act: The Crown shall sign the Bill into law with respect to its passage through the legislature by majority vote. However, reference to the 'Canonist Inquisition' shall be omitted from the signed Act, as this Inquisition lacks any other legal foundation or mention within the Haurul Caezk. The Haelunor War Advisory: The Crown notes with pride the vigor of the Duma towards the war effort against the High Elven menace. While the advice rendered is accepted readily, and to date several efforts have been made towards the diplomatic isolation of the Silver State, the Crown must also note that the Silver State has sacrificed their sovereignty as an independent nation in response to international pressure, chiefly by our Kongzem. While such a result is no less deserved, the Crown does not look lightly upon other nations of Canondom harbouring godless heathens and enemies of the Kongzem. At present, the new diplomatic landscape must be ascertained by the Office of the Envoy.

  12. Letter to the Royal Duma: ON HAELUNOR KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM Issued by the CROWN On this 8th day of Tov and Yermey of 392ES VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG ALDYLEVAR For many years now, the Kongzem of Haense has maintained a state of war against the Silver State of Haelunor for dishonorable acts against the Crown, chiefly the assault of a Haeseni diplomat within their walls. While the forces of the Brotherhood of Saint Karl has carried out numerous raids on Karinah’siol, patrolled the void-tainted roads of Ando Alur, and taken High Elven prisoners - whose number almost included the Haelunorian Sohaer, if not for his use of strange magicks to escape - this one-sided war has been reduced to besieging the Silver State and striking when opportunities arise. In light of the turn of the new reign, the Crown now appeals to the Royal Duma to debate on the Kongzem’s future strategy against the Silver State as representatives of the Haeseni people. Such advice can be rendered in the form of seeking sanctions against Haelunor in return for peace, a temporary armistice until an opportunity to engage in warfare proper arises, or whatever else the Royal Duma may see fit to include. Any such advice must be delivered by majority vote, as if by Advisory Bill.
  13. WRIT OF AULIC APPOINTMENT AULIC ENVOY Issued and Confirmed by His Majesty King Sigismund III KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM By the Grace of Godani on the 8th of Vzmey & Hyff, 392 E.S. VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG EDLERVIK It is with great sorrow that the Crown accepts the resignation of Lord Andrik J. Baruch from the position of Aulic Envoy following three decades of dutiful service, and it extends its most gracious thanks for innovation, his dedication to his duties, and his adaptation to the ever-changing foreign landscape. In light of his retirement, the Crown has called upon its leal servant, Lord Jan of House Kortrevich, to assume the duties of Aulic Envoy in his stead. The Crown eagerly anticipates the industrious career of His Excellency, Lord Jan Kortrevich, as he assumes the Office of Aulic Envoy and awaits further innovation and advancement in the field of foreign diplomacy in Hanseti-Ruska.

IV. The signatories agree to consult together whenever, in the opinion of either of them, the territorial integrity, political independence or security of the signatories is threatened. V. 15. Notice from the Nikirala Prikaz: SEEKING PAGES FOR HIS MAJESTY KING SIGISMUND III Issued on this 12th day of Msitza and Dargund of 392ES VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG KARIAV Having ascended to the throne in the wake of my royal father's abdication, I have come to acknowledge the need for assistance in the endeavour of ruling the Kongzem with aide from Pages -- not only as assistants and messengers, but also companions, for I know all too well that the years to come shall be fraught with challenges and hardships best born by many rather than one. While I am well-served by my current pages - Firr Evard Colborn and Firras Mariya Vyronov - I appeal now to the Houses of Nobility and families of recognition within the Kongzem to submit their young to work beneath me as Royal Pages, which shall both service the name of their families and afford them unique opportunities for rank in the realm. Those who wish to submit themselves or their kin for the role shall come before the Crown during the coming Royal Court of 393ES [Friday, 4PM EST/9PM GMT]. IV JOVEO MAAN His Royal Majesty SIGISMUND III by the Grace of Godan, King of Hanseti and Ruska, Grand Hetman of the Army, Prince of Bihar, Dules, Lahy, Muldav, Solvesborg, Slesvik and Ulgaard, Duke of Carnatia, Margrave of Korstadt, Rothswald and Vasiland, Count of Alban, Alimar, Baranya, Graiswald, Karikhov, Karovia, Kaunas, Kavat, Kovachgrad, Kvasz, Nenzing, Torun, and Toruv, Viscount of Varna, Baron of Esenstadt, Kraken’s Watch, Kralta, Krepost, Lorentz, Rytsburg, Thurant, Venzia and Astfield, Lord of the Westfolk, Protector of the Highlanders, etcetera.
  16. SIGISMUND III Sigismund laid back on the riverbank. The late-winter wind of Gronna and Droba gusted behind him, stirring the line of bare-branched spruces and towering evergreens behind him. Despite the season, the banks of the Staal Eada near the foot of Mondstadt and in view of the Karosgrad bay had been spared from snow. The sun had even appeared today, hanging low in the evening sky, and bathed the world in a pale gold as the last of its light fractured through the branches of the trees behind him. As the waters of the Staal Eada gushed softly just a few feet away, Georgi - the corgi that had been gifted to him and Emma at their wedding - nuzzled up to his size for warmth. With a sigh, Sigismund stared up at the darkening sky as he idly stroked the dog. His skin prickled with each swell of the gentle and bitter wind, but Sigismund was quite content to just lie there, even as he shivered. He had laid there for what must have been hours, now, and he wished he could stay for hours more. Days, even. As long as I need to … get ready, he thought to himself for the umpteenth time, even though he knew that he would never be ready. He knew that the second he rode back into Karosgrad, the moment he was surrounded by crimson walls and black-gold banners, it was over. When that moment came, when he left this spot, Sigismund Karl would cease to exist, and King Sigismund III would stand in his place. He sucked in the icy air, and exhaled a misty sigh. “Do you want to stay here forever, Georgi?” he murmured, tilting his head to the young corgi, who in turn stared back with innocent, beady eyes. “Wouldn’t that be nice?” He smiled weakly as he scratched behind the dog’s ears, but the corgi only went pack to nuzzling Sigismund’s side obliviously. “Well, maybe not for you …” the prince went on as his eyes drifted back to the evening sky. “Nice for me, though.” He watched as a pack of gulls, cawing noisily, flew overhead towards the Karosgrad harbour. “I’m not afraid, you know,” he told Georgi half-heartedly. “I’m not. I just … I just don’t want to become that person yet.” When Georgi suddenly left his side with a yap, Sigismund propped himself up on his elbow to watch as the corgi bounced excitedly at the foot of the riverbank, barking at a pack of swans crossing water as the river glistened a burnished orange in the sunset. He sighed again, and felt tears tug at the corner of his vision. Why is this so rotting hard? He had been through this mental ordeal for what felt like every week since he was old enough to comprehend what it meant to be heir to a kingdom, and then every day since he had married Emma. He had known this time had been coming for years, now, and he had thought he had prepared himself for the moment where he would have to … let go. He slumped back down on the frosted grass. Just once more, he wished he could be around those he loved without the looming shadow of what the future held. He wished he could sit and laugh with Kaustantin at his latest mishaps; he wished he could steal away in the kitchens of Jerovitz to talk about crabs and magic with Emma; he wished he could have one last moment of tenderness with Eleanora and forget about the reality that life had forced on them; he wished Molia would forgive him, and return to speak to him with her filterless tongue; he wished he could see Alice again, and see what became of her, and whether she had changed; he wished he could tease Anastasya and Eirik once more; he wished he could make sure Yvo was doing everything in his power to be the perfect husband to Petra, and he wished Petra was here now to comfort him; he wished he was back in the Karosgrad Tavern, issuing a royal decree to keep Johann from going back to gate-keeping; he wished he could see the latest spot of trouble Marus had caused for his mother; he wished he could taste Mariya’s baking again, and push her to be braver; and he wished Uncle Nikolas could take him to parties as a clueless boy once more. He wished he could be Sigismund Karl for just a little while longer. He closed his eyes on budding tears. No point in wishful thinking. Besides, it was for all those people that he was to undergo this duty. He might not be the one to laugh, or tease, or dance anymore, but it had fallen to him to be the one to make sure that others could -- that others could live in a kingdom where they could do all those things, and more. He opened his eyes, and stared through a teary veil at the golden sky above. He could hear the swans crooning in the river as Georgi continued to bark at them, the dulcet gush of the Staal Eada as it lapped against the riverbank, and the creak of the trees in the wind behind him. “Well … it was fun while it lasted.” The grass crunched beneath him as he pushed himself upright, and his cloak stirred in the gust of the wind. “Come on, Georgi,” he called to the dog, and was surprised by how level his tone was despite the tears running down his cheek. “Time to go, boy! C’mere!” The corgi turned his head to Sigismund in surprise as the prince pat his knees, and gave the swans one last look before he lumbered back up the riverbank. “Good boy!” Sigismund cooed as he scratched the dog’s neck. “Good boy. Come on, it’s …” His voice suddenly grew thick as a lump formed in his throat. He had to force the next words out. “ … its time to go.” Sigismund Karl gave the corgi one last smile. Sigismund III turned, then, and began to walk back towards the city.
  17. Haeseni Sled Racing Championship MARIAN KART The Haeseni Winter brings many things. It brings hardship and hunger, and despair and darkness. It brings cold wings from the Rimeveld that cut at the flesh like steel, and snows that fall from the sky like a white monsoon. It brings the need to shelter cattle and fatten them with scarce feed, and the ceremonial Colborn wedding goats freeze in their stables. The Winter, however, brings more than that -- for now, it brings a new chance for glory. It brings a chance to be immortalized as a champion, a chance to be the name cheered by every tongue, and the chance to WIN. 21. Reared in the Haeseni Prikaz as he was, Sigismund often lacked a thorough understanding of the wider world. He knew of Orcish cultures and customs, but was still baffled whenever he saw them in Karosgrad; he knew of Elven lifestyles and religion, but could not fully comprehend it; and he had heard the propaganda of what goes on within the Silver State, but he had never really believed it. That was until last night, of course. Last night when he had sat at the table of Ellisar & Aestenia Aevaris, the grey twilight distorted as it shone through the rain-streaked window, and the fire burning low to echo the tone of the room as they told him of the horrors that had ousted them from their home.
