THE ADLER COMMISSION 9th of Godfrey’s Triumph, 1787 First enacted into law during the Imperial Senate session of 1758-1760, the Orenian Revised Code (ORC) has served as the statutory compendium of law civil and criminal of Our commonwealth for nearly three decades. Three centuries of Orenian jurisprudence lends itself to the Code. It is, among other documents, a cornerstone of the constitution, and thus constant care is required of it. Since its promulgation, continuous legislation by the Diet has left significant parts of the Code out-of-date. To the end that it be kept refined, improved upon, and receive the modernization to which it is due, Their Imperial Majesties therefore call upon a commission of men to be formed, to whom the enormity of the charge be assigned and triumphed over. The men shall be as follows: The Most Hon. Chief Justice Joseph Adler SCJ, Chairman of the Commission @wealthypiano The Most Hon. Justice Farooq Gray SCJ @Thatpyrodude His Excellency The Solicitor-General Basileos Baelius, J.D. SSE @MCVDK The Rt Hon. The President of the House of Commons George Galbraith @MrChenn1 Sir Edward Galbraith KM, J.D. SSE @sergisala Mr. Adrian Helvets, J.D. SSE @Draeris Mr. Leonaard Skingaard, J.D. SSE @yopplwasupxxx Mr. Percival Halcourt @LithiumSedai At the completion of the commission’s charge, to be judged by the Chairman or by majority-vote, a report and revision of the Orenian Revised Code is to be submitted to the House of Commons in Diet for special review. ISSUED AND PROCLAIMED, Anne I, by the grace of GOD Holy Orenian Empress, forever August, Queen of Renatus, Curon, Salvus and Seventis, Defender of the Faith, Princess of Malinor, Duchess of Adria, Novellen and Lorraine, Baroness of Renzfeld, Protector of the Heartlanders, Highlanders and Farfolk, etcetera. Joseph II, by the grace of GOD Holy Orenian Emperor, forever August, King of Renatus, Curon, Salvus, and Seventis, Defender of the Faith, Prince of Malinor, Duke of Adria, Novellen and Lorraine, Baron of Renzfeld, Protector of the Heartlanders, Highlanders, and Farfolk, etcetera.

“Out with the old, in with the new, as the parables go.” The Duke of Helena muses to his brother The Count of Pompourelia over morning tea, reflecting on the death of another statesman and Founding Father of the constitution. Staring momentarily as the wrinkles of his brother’s forehead ripple like waves while stuffing his maw with toasted crumpets, the quinquagenarian has a more sullen thought: Are we, too, growing old?

Impeachment Inquiry of Edward Galbraith: 1774
John Ivory replied to AnonymousAlexa's topic in Imperial Diet
“In the month of the man’s wedding, no less!” The Duke comments as an aside to his brother the Count of Pompourelia, his mouth sniveling some at the perceived disrespect of the inquiry. “Rather crude. A gentleman should be able to enjoy his bridal tour, I should think. You know I’ve always been charitable with these things. A family man is a family man, that’s what I say.” He then goes quiet, his brother failing to give an encouraging response. -

The War of the Two Emperors - A Theatre Staging
John Ivory replied to Ivoreyy's topic in The Kingdom of Oren
The Duke of Helena reads over the transcripts of the play with a beaming grin, occasionally glancing proudly to his sitting daughter. ”Magnificent! Magnificent, that’s what I say. And I heard that Carrington put it on stage brilliantly. It was a smashing success, that’s what I hear.” -
A SURVEY OF ASTROLOGICAL TRADITIONS & MODERN PRACTICE
John Ivory replied to Solomon's topic in The Kingdom of Oren
The Duke of Helena, being a worldly man, spares little time to peruse the depths of the published work which had arrived on his desk. Nonetheless, he admires as a layman would the erudition of this Mr. Fleurunt, and forwards the work along with a small letter to his friend and mentor Simon Basrid. Mr. Simon Basrid, This volume seems to your well-liking. Best regards, J.C. @Cracker -

An Address to the People of Oren
John Ivory replied to Braehn Elendil An'Hiraeth's topic in The Kingdom of Oren
The Duke of Helena reaches the middle of the missive with an annoyed scowl, placing the paper down. “Should we not actually reform and collect on the tax before promising the people it will be lowered?” He quips to his brother George, who is far too preoccupied with his dinner to respond. He releases a despondent sigh, before returning to reading. -
