OOC note: The basis of this lore is taken from Swgrclan's original redstone lore found here and this post serves to add and modify certain properties of redstone. Everything displayed here must be found out through roleplay means. Quote taken from Swgrclan's redstone lore found here. Properties of Redstone Due to redstone’s origins as compressed mana it has. First off, Not only does redstone need to be digested or directly injected into the bloodstream to take effect but it takes a much higher dosage than thanhium to be fatal. Redstone also does not emit the same consistent draining of heat as thanhium does. redstone dust is a very strong oxidizing agent. This trait stems from redstone dust being a compressed form of mana and so when put into a fire it will erupt into flames breaking the tight bonds between the mana, releasing an immense amount of energy. Throwing about a handful of redstone dust into a fire will see it gain ~100 degrees Fahrenheit in a matter of seconds. Thirdly, redstone dust interacts strangely with water. When water comes into contact with redstone dust the dust will clump up into a thick gel. When in this gel form the redstone dust becomes about two times more potent of an oxidizing agent than its dry form. Turning redstone dust from this gel back into its base dust form can prove to be quite a difficult task as one must boil the water off it. Lastly, redstone dust has the ability to be hardened into a solid form and be used in smithing. Hardened Redstone To make hardened redstone requires the melting of the dust and then rapid cooling of the dust. The melting point of redstone dust is roughly 5500 degrees Fahrenheit, roughly the same temperature as it takes to melt carbarum. Once melted the liquid must be poured into its mold and then rapidly cooled through some means. If not cooled quickly enough the liquid redstone will not harden properly and revert back to its dust form. Hardened redstone is similar to ferrum in its strength and durability, but lacks the ability to refine an edge capable of piercing even leather armour. Hardened redstone is also much lighter than ferrum while also emitting a constant and dull glow around it. If it were to come into contact with redstone dust it would be observed that it emits a constant source of energy to it. If one were to succeed in creating hardened redstone they would find its properties quite different than the dust form. First off, it not longer is a strong oxidizing agent, being able to be present near fire without even a significant increase in temperature. Hardened redstone also behaves differently than dust when in the presence of water, mostly for the worse. If hardened redstone were to come into contact with water it would experience a violent reaction, combusting into flames and releasing a very large amount of heat into its surrounding area. Uses of Redstone Redstone serves three main purposes being: tattoos, wiring and smithing. Redstone Tattoos https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/84492-lore-redstone-tattoos/ Redstone Wiring Quote taken from Swgrclan's redstone lore found here. Redstone Smithing As stated earlier, redstone dust has the ability to be melted and then cooled into a hardened form. If the melted redstone is poured into a mold and then cooled quickly it will take the shape of the mold. However, unlike ferrum, hardened redstone is quite brittle and lacks the ability to be refined a great deal once hardened. For this reason it is impossible to create blades or sharp edges out of hardened redstone. However, hardened redstone still has the ability to be made into blunt weaponry such as warhammers or clubs. Redlines of Redstone Quote taken from Swgrclan's redstone lore found here. If redstone is being used in roleplaying circumstances the properties and its unique interactions with certain substance MUST be taken into account. Hardened redstone CANNOT be made into any form of sharp edges or points. This includes but is not limited to: swords, pickaxes, daggers, knives, etc. If hardened redstone armour is worn its effects and interactions with water MUST be taken into account accordingly. This means that if your character is wearing hardened redstone armour in the rain the armour will spontaneously combust and release A LOT of energy in a very short time period and will cause at least 3rd degree burns to skin in contact with the hardened redstone if only a very small portion is on your person. If you are wearing full hardened redstone armour and it comes into contact with even a few drops of water, you will die. Placing a cloth over hardened redstone will NOT stop it from experiencing the reaction with water as if even a damp cloth comes into contact with hardened redstone it will experience the violent reaction. Despite redstone releasing a very large amount of energy in a short period of time when burned it CANNOT be made into a makeshift bomb. The energy released is heat and therefore does not cause an explosion.

A Disgruntled Reply from a Eunuch.
cablam replied to Quavinir_Twiceborn's topic in Vailor Roleplay Archive
*a note written in somewhat poor handwriting is penned and pinned beneath Quavinir's letter reading* "There is so much wrong with this I have trouble determining where to begin, so I will go from the start. Firstly, you did betray us by allowing these parasites that live to create a God to continue to roam this world. I ask you this, even if the chance that they create a God is 10^-100000, I would rather not take that chance. The fact that this God would have complete and utter disregard for life and undetermined motives and goals means that we could potentially have another Ibless on our hands. Except this one has minions with the strength of an entire orc army. So really, would you be willing to take that chance? Secondly, none of the information we have came from you. All of our information came from myself and two others. Not to mention I was the one that wrote the book that was given to the clerics. Thirdly, you say that these beings don't kill people. Well let's say they haven't yet, what is to stop the creatures with no regard for life from killing. Also, the fact that they need a corpse in the first place to make a homunculi, which the have made many of, hints at the idea that they have killed to make these creatures. Also, my brother Beros who was an old but healthy Dwed, fully capable of defending himself against the common bandit, is now a homunculi. I find the chances that Prohan just happened across his body one day, in pristine condition enough to create a Doppleganger, very slim. Fourthly, how foolish are you to believe the words that come from a creature that has complete and utter disregard for all life. You literally believed the people who you yourself said were hunting you to my face and that you yourself had already killed two before. Fifthly, you are likely one of the only ones seeking for a peaceful end to this, as I doubt many would be okay with the chance that we will have to fight two of Ibless at the same time. - Belegar" -
No worries, good luck on your application.

If you deselect your main skill the skills locked at clumsy will no longer be capped at clumsy but won't reset back to adequate. Also any levels you got in your main skill above the non speicality cap which I think is adequate will be lost and be capped at adequate.

The Keep of Ekren *Posters would be hung around the isles of Valor promoting the Grey Hills Lordship* Greetings denizens of Vailor, I, Belegar , Lord of the Grey Hills, am currently offering up a number of homes located inside my lordship , the Keep of Ekren, for rent with due taxation. The Grey Hills are located not far southeast from Felsen. Once there you will find yourself amongst a formidable keep built into the mountain with a small settlement at the top . Within Ekren you will find the finest Dwarven stonemasonry in all of Oren fit with a crafting hall, stables, farm land, and many more additions, nooks, and crannies located throughout the Grey Hills Lordship. People of all races can find a home within Ekren so long as they are neutral in this war and wish for peace. Jobs and market space can be provided to any residents upon request. If interested send me a bird ((mono_poly)) or leave a note here. Sincerely, Lord Belegar ((more pics ((photos courtesy of Spike823

Hello, I am looking for two dwarf skins to be made. Both will be made for one character so facial features and the such will stay the same between the two and just the clothing for each will be different. For the facial features, I am looking for darker skin, black hair and beard, with the beard being on the longer side. Also I would like the beard to be braided. On both of the skins I would like a set of goggles on top of the head (not over the eyes) with the lens tinted black. The first skin is a dwarf engineer skin. I would like something along the lines of the picture below, however without the helmet and instead of the gold plating to have either a bronze or iron plating. Also don't want the style of braids of the beard in the picture, just a more basic style of braiding. The second skin I would like is a more formal dress for the same character. I would like something along the lines of the picture below keeping the gold plating and the same facial features that are on the previous skin while also not putting in the backpack, weapon and pipe. I am willing to pay at most 650 mina for each of the skins and so I would like them to be of a higher quality and the final price will be determined based on the quality of the final product. If you are interested in making these skins, message me on the forums, in game or reply here.

19th of the Amber Cold, 1539 LET IT BE KNOWN on this day that the dwarves of the hold of Ekren hereby repudiate in full all authority of the defunct Kingdom of Urguan, on the grounds of the illegitimacy of that state and the rule of the wheelwright king, Rhewen the Stark of the Clan Frostbeard. IT IS HENCE RESOLVED, that the hold of Ekren is, and of right ought to be, a state free of Urguanite tyranny, that it is absolved from all allegiance to the Urguanite crown, and that all political connection between it and the Kingdom of Urguan, is hence totally dissolved. ACCORDINGLY, from the capital of Ekren, the Lordship of the Grey Hills is established, a dwarf-realm in direct fealty to the Holy Orenian Emperor, populated by the dwarves of the Grey Hills, governed by Lord Belegar of the Clan Tunnelsmasher as a colony free of any and all service to the doomed nation of Urguan. Signed, John I, Holy Orenian Emperor Belegar of the Clan Tunnelsmasher, Lord of the Grey Hills

*Beros and Belegar wander the under construction Tunnelsmasher clan hall. While Beros finishes the lineage chart, Belegar writes and sends a note to Grand King Vorstag* "Greetings Vorstag, I would like to request that the Tunnelsmasher Clan's prestige be recounted. Beros and I can help you out with anything you need to assist in the process. Thank you for your time. - Belegar and Beros Tunnelsmasher"

*a note is posted in the Cloud Temple and every major City with a blank page titled “Professor Applications” next to it* The University of Athera is now almost complete its construction. Based out of the Mushroom Caves just outside of the Dwarven Capital city the university sits in an ideal location for all people. The University will have two large halls, Urguan’s Hall and Urir’s Olgrahad's Hall, and two small classrooms. If need be, more rooms or lecture halls can be built to accommodate a larger number of students. The goal of the university is to better educate the commoner and raise the bar of proficiency in crafts and trades of all kinds throughout Athera. Currently the university is looking for professors to teach a variety of subjects. If you have something that you think will be beneficial to teach leave your contact information ((MC name and RP name)), what you wish to teach, your experience in the subject, and when you can teach ((time zone and days you are free)) on the blank page. We will review your application and decide whether or not we have a spot for you. Teachers will be paid 150 Minas per course they teach (price is not final). Once the list of professors has been created we will post another note in the same spot listing what is available to be taught and students can register for the classes on a first come, first serve basis. Students will be required to pay a fee that will pay for: the professor, materials and equipment, and a small fee that will go to the Dwarven Kingdom. All materials and equipment will be supplied for the students by the Kingdom. After a list of students has been made for each professor, class times will be worked out between the professor and students that will best accommodate the time restraints of the students and professors. If you have any questions direct them to myself, Belegar Tunnelsmasher ((mono_poly)). I can be found usually within Kal’Karaad (Dwarf Capital City) or within the Mushroom Caves next to Kal’Karaad. Edit: *a note is added in semi-legible handwriting just below the original document* If you are interested in being a student leave your name and what you are interested in studying on the back of the teaching application page. - Belegar Tunnelsmasher ((Application Format)) MC Name: RP Name: What you will be teaching: Experience in the subject: Time zone and days of the week you are free:

(Please link past applications): - No How did you hear about us?: - Brother What do you think the server will be like? - lots of role playing and general minecraft fun Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - Yes What’s the rule you agree with the most?: - no metagamming or powergamming Do you understand combat rules, and what you can and can’t do if you do choose to roleplay as a villain?:- Yes Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?(If so maybe we can help clear it up! You will not be denied for having a question on the rules):- Nope Definitions These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person! What is roleplaying?: - Assuming the role of a character and acting as that character would act, i.e acting crazed and out of control when in reality you are perfectly calm What’s metagaming?: - hearing something outside of the game and acting accordingly to that information before your character would have found out that information. i.e: hearing the locations of your enemies that are far away from you over voice chat and responding to that information by heading over there What’s powergaming?: - bending the roleplaying aspect to your advantage. i.e "swings and lands a blow directly into your heart and instantly killing you" In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that you follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play. What’s your character called?: - Belegar What race are they? (and sub-race if applicable): - Cavern Dwarf What gender are they?: - Male How old are they?: - 24 Give us a highlight of their past, What life events make your character the person they are today? This is your character's biography. It is also required to include server lore when writing. (Names of towns, major server events, ect. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): - I am from the city of Kal'Azgoth of the Anthos realm and apart of the Goldhand clan. At the age of 22 I left Anthos in search of new mountains to explore and discover and came to Athera as a result. Unlike most dwarves, I am more fond of redstone than other minerals such as gold and iron. It is just something about the way it powers machinery and the way it glows when struck with a pickaxe that gravitates me to it. I first was shown redstone by my father when he took me exploring within the caves and it immediately sparked my interest. My father showed me what little he knew about redstone, for he was a miner, but it was enough to fuel my desire to learn more about it and make new things that I never thought I could make. My goal is to become a renowned tinker that builds on contract for anyone willing to pay the right price and who will use it to it's full potential. I don't want to build anything out of redstone that will be neglected and forgotten. Another one of my goals is to advance the technology of Athera and make Athera the technological powerhouse in the world. What are they like? (personality): - Will not start a fight but will certainly participate in one if it is started. Finds more honor through creations than through battle and strength. Not shy and not outgoing, just about in the middle. Love to share knowledge and learn new things about redstone. Keen and good problem solver. Very calm. What are their ambitions?: - To learn more and share all that I have learned about restone. Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): - Special skills: - good problem solver - good with redstone weakness: - obsessed with redstone. as a result I am easily offended if someone insults something with it involved. Will put redstone above most other things. Give us a description of how they look?: - Average size for a dwarf, pale skin with blue eyes, brown beard and hair. Please give us a screenshot of your character’s skin: - http://imgur.com/BsEmiGy
