Hello everyone, we're back at it again with another round of our Forum Team Updates. This one comes very late, as usual. One day I would like to not be the last director to post an update, but today is not that day. So, whats been going on in the Forum Moderation Team? New Additions This month, we have added three (3!) new Forum Moderators. @Violinist, @ChonGojDragonski, and @Veist making a return run. We're always glad to see people interested in participating in the Lord of the Craft Community; and this month we had quite a few. Thank you to everyone who applied this time around, and those of you that took the time to file an interview with us. Sadly, only a few of can be picked from the lot but that does not mean you shouldn't apply again in the future. Be sure to welcome everyone who is new this month when you see them, we all look forward to them having a long career of serving the Lord of the Craft Community! In addition to our new members, this month we lost @Hyena, @MrMineLoveDude, @Fawb, and @Sythan. All leaving for various reasons, we here in the Lord of the Craft Forum Team are forever thankful for their service to our community over their long careers. Be sure to thank them if you see them around here in the community! Firstly, we have been rolling out the new Forms feature, with assistance from our Web Developer @Lyonharted™, we have several new Forms available for users to make use of. If you're interested in the feature, look for a button on the forums list that says "Apply for X Team". The goal here is to streamline the application process and enforce a consistency in format and overall content in each form to make the jobs of users and staff easier. Our second major project this month is something many of you may have seen. The "Forum Roleplay Census" thread, found HERE; is a poll taken of Forum Roleplay users on the Lord of the Craft Forums. The idea for this survey came at the end of a meeting we had here on the FM Team to decide what will become of the Clubs feature we have here. While it is a good tool that has a lot of applications, we noticed a stark lack of response in the use of Clubs, and wanted to find out why. It was our idea that one of the groups who would have the best use of the Clubs feature would be players who participate in the FRP community here on our forums. We have found, as a result of our many responses to the census that the major reason most players don't want to partake in Clubs is twofold. Firstly, there is a lack of knowledge of the feature as it is tucked firmly behind the scenes; and secondly due to the long wait times on applications and overall bloat of the application process. So, as a result our goal when reworking the Clubs feature system is to both streamline the application process, and make the community more aware of what Clubs has to offer and what it can do. More info will come out about this in our next meeting, and hopefully by the next report we will have this project complete. Overall, we're doing well this month in terms of Forum Moderation. I'm happy to see the progress thats being made in training, hiring and projects; and its a trend I'd like to keep up for many moons to come. Do you have any questions, comments or concerns? Hello everyone! As a part of our initiative to look into the possibilities of expanding the user-base for our Clubs feature here on the Lord of the Craft Community forums, we will be asking current users of Forum Roleplay to participate in a short survey on their interactions with FRP on the Lord of the Craft Forums, as well as their interactions with the clubs feature. While this survey is targeted at those in our community who participate in non-cannon Forum Roleplay events, those who are interested in participating and have yet to, and those who have participated in the past and no longer do are welcome to respond as well. Keep in mind that responding to this form is entirely voluntary, and you are free to put as much or as little information in it as possible. After we collect a good enough sample of users, the Forum Team will compile this data and look through what is possible to enhance the experience of Forum Roleplay participants on our community Forums. The results will be published in the next Forum Team Monthly Update, so keep an eye out for that! Hello everyone! We've had a great month here in February and are happy to see several good months coming up. We recruited two new members this month, @Riftblade and the returning @Dreek, while we had several applicants its my goal and the goal of the other Forum Team Managers to keep the team lean and effective, so we've only chosen a few of the applicants this round around. Fear not, however there is always tomorrow and we will always have need for new Forum Moderators. If you're interested in joining the team, moderating the forums and winning the affection of all of your peers; apply for the Forum Moderation Team! So, what have we done this month? Membership Changes Thankfully, this month we haven't lost any membership and have actually gained in numbers! I know, it doesn't seem real. But, regardless as I mentioned above we are welcoming @Riftblade and @Dreek to the team, we look forward to their hopefully long and fruitful careers serving the Lord of the Craft Community. Be sure to welcome them if you have the opportunity! dogbew devvy Fawbole Chorale_ Gargled Hyena Jeiku Keefy Sythan MrMineLoveDude +Riftblade +Dreek (TheButler) Projects Coming into this month we had no projects to work on, however we have found things to fill our time. Following a great suggestion by our own @Hyena, we started work with the Server Administration and the Game Moderation team to set up a trial of her "Allowed Mods" subforum. Currently the project is complete from my end, waiting on administrative approval and implementation. We also looked at several of our community feedback posts, and decided to dust off what has ended up a can kicked down the road from director to director in the Forum Team for a while now; Clubs. We're looking at ways to both streamline the process of getting clubs, and will be discussing the moderation of them in our upcoming meeting (tomorrow). Afterwords, we'll get the ball rolling on another wack at the feature. It certainly hasn't been a successful project, but we'll work with it as long as we can to find what works. And, I've been working with the Server Administration to get a few other features underway. Among them, I am looking at working with @Lyonharted™ to implement a feature that would streamline the server's application system here on the forums, and hopefully make the life of all our players easier in the coming months. We are also looking at better ways to deal with faction section management forums, and looking to hopefully building a system by which requests can be made more easily be section leaders as well as myself in filling them. Sadly we don't have any big shiny new features to show off this month, but the groundwork is being laid for them to come properly in the future! Consider looking at your chat logs for the situation, looking for the typical death message you get something to the effect of "You are starting to lose consciousness!" If you can find that, there should be a player name if it were a player and not show any name if it was a mob. If you cant find one, it is more likely that there was some kind of a bug that skipped past that part of the plugin.
