Lets approach this sensibly. LOTC had been crashing in player count for 2 main reasons last year, tech issues, inability to find a nation. You are a new player, you log in, decide to head for oren or haense or whatever. Halfway there you are halted, slaughtered in minas or die roleplay and you go to run the same route over again and have it happen a second time, you log out and never log back in. Yes yes I know we have a community team and a moderation team, but 9/10 they arent going to respond in time to make a difference. Having warps allows new players to get to big nation hubs easier and helps keep them on the server, the first hour of roleplay for a new player will decide whether they stay or leave, my first hour was walking into felsen in the middle of a flay raid and yknow what? The flays for all their faults did not immediatly slaughter a new player like me and let me go. This new breed of “bandits” if you can even call them that do not have the same reservations. Re-add the warp cart, make life easier for new players and veterans alike. Even with the warp carts the roads still got used to go places.

This is a fantasy roleplay server where magic exists to conjure up a meteor to kill 10 guys in one emotes, allow you to take control of a players mind or open a door into hell and cast everything in a room inside. A musket working like a crossbow is about as real and grounded as you are going to get on this server.

But historical firearms are not the firearms being proposed, the ones being proposed are simply reskined crossbows, heck even less powerful. This has been said about 30 times in this thread at least, these are NOT historical firearms, they will be THE SAME as crossbows.

Imagine Gandalf with an elf fireball meteor able to be called down in 10 seconds to try and kill multiple people, fact of the matter is other races have been going against the medieval grain for almost a decade now with their magics, the muskets and early flintlocks being presented are in no way going to impact that fact, some groups just wish to pound sand whine and cry when they see something they dont like getting introduced, but have no problem with 4 more magics or another 6 MARTs etc etc etc. It is a fantasy roleplay server you are absolutely correct, and a great many deal fantasy roleplaying servers have early firearms. I dont know if you have played LOTC much but crossbows and bows routinely punch through plate and mail with ease, thats just the factor of the server we play on, the fact of the matter is guns represented in the lore will be early firearms of lesser ability or at best equal to crossbows/bows, this isnt real life as is commonly said by the anti gun group well fair enough these guns simply wont be as good as those in real life. Its a simple answer.

You are quoting a video using a small scale crossbow nothing like the ones used on the server, a heavy arablest would routinely pierce plate and mail such as those used on the server, the point you are making is not only flawed but embroiled in false sentiment, the lore proposed shows muskets being exactly the same if not WEAKER than crossbows on the server.

We arent going to have AK 47s or guns, we are talking early tech low scale matchlock/flintlock weapons of which would be EXACTLY the same as a crossbow in terms of damage if not less.

The Lore up for consideration requires gunsmiths with applications that can take on a limited number of students the same as magic, heavily regulated by the staff to ensure quality.

Why do we need 20 different types of magic? Why do we need elves? Or orcs? Or Halflings? Humans can do all those. There in lies the problem, we make these things for FLAVOR! Everyone wants something a little different, we want to use flintlock muskets that are no different than crossbows because we would like to improve, expand upon and make roleplay better. Surely if we can have such an extensive broad ammount of lore on this server a sliver of that can be spared for some reskinned crossbows that a vast portion of the playerbase so desperately want for roleplay.
