  1. The Kingdom of Hilmedhi The drastic shift of mood in the Kingdom was drastic, compared to the years past. It was filled with excitement, the Queen’s reappearance and the birth of two twin girls. Though one thing, sent a shock through the Kingdom. The sudden decimation of Karak’Azul, a local fishing village, was odd enough to terrify those who heard about it. An entire village gone, without a trace of their belongings taken. All that remained were throat’s that were cut ear to ear and a young boy. Who was in the jungle at the time the mist set in. Ashur was brought before the King, right before the first celebration of birth in 27 years. The boy, no older than four years of age was very naive about what had happened or what was happening to him. And his adoption into the Cinder family. Throck ached for the boy and his loss, but he also knew this boy was the only thing that connected this mysterious culling to his nation. He was determined to find out what had happened. 2. The Kingdom of Hilmedhi The nights had been silent for several years now, the King’s hope of ever finding his Queen was diminishing. Until a fateful night, a figure appeared through the piercing darkness. The men who worked the gates of the Kaz’Durn, buzzed as not many visitors came their way from the North. The amber hair, flashed as the figure staggered forth. “HALT!” The guardsmen, had their bows aimed at the new arrival. Drawing them back, ready to shoot as the figure kept approaching. Then the figure collapsed, face first into the fresh dirt road that led into the new sprawling city. Commands could be heard, ordering the gate and a party of men to retrieve the figure from the darkness. As the Captain approached, the amber hair laid out in front of her. The royal decorations that held her hair gleaned from the torch light. Her arms covered in scars, like a victim of torture and warfare. He nearly puked seeing some of the things done to this poor soul. As he reached down to reveal the figure’s face, the more he realized who it was. He unveiled the figures face, showing the scared cheek and eye of the High Queen. The amount of damage done to her, it was a shook she could have lived. The scars in her arm, weren’t regular scars however. They were patterns, like runes. The moment of shock was over, and action was taken. The city that was dead in the night, was awakened. The Queen had been found, and tension restored. For now… Statistics: Population: 2,927,000 Treasury: 41,500 (1 Turn income bonus, and previous years treasury remains included) Actions: The expansion of the Hilmedhi economy was something not even the King expected. 5. Kingdom of Hilmedhi The search for the Queen continues, as the first ship of the Kingdom leaves port searching for new lands. The populus was excited and scared, with the Queen’s disappearance and the new achievement by the Kingdom attempting to be the first to discover some unknown land. In the domestic sense, the men of the Miner’s Guild continue their mountain highway towards the capital. 6. The Kingdom of Hilmedhi The night was wet, and humid. A miserable night for those who lived on the street levels. Even with the constant downpour, the town was shrouded in an eerie silence. A figure stumbled through the rain, her amber hair covered soaked to a dim and dull red. She was walking alone, leaving a local tavern and on her way home. Some torch lights from local house lit the way, for her to stumble down. Quickly those faded into distance as she worked her way down towards the Palace. Traveling through the church district and making her way home. Little did she know behind her stalked two men, cloaked in shadows as the creeped from alleyway to alleyway until they were close enough to make a move. In her drunken state, she couldn’t be bothered to look back and check on the noise that was being made behind her. She just wanted to make it home. Her regrets of skipping her daughter’s wedding, and neglecting her husband had finally gotten to her. She was sorry, and wanted to make amends. In this moment of regret, she started to sob, stopping in her tracks. This would prove to be her final mistake. In a moment’s notice, she was gone. The streets were empty and quiet. The Queen had disappeared, with not a peep of sound. ------ An outburst of anger and confusion erupted from the throne room “What do you mean? She did not come home? She’s just gone?” The High King had a very anger scowl upon his face. The room around him was in disarray, the a dining table had been flipped on it’s side with the contents spread across the floor. Several things had been smashed against walls with the debris laying there. The council stayed quietly, with their hands stowed away behind their back. “Yes, she had disappeared.” A young male dwarf had stepped forward, the short beard had given it away. Is young features unscared from the horrors that laid within the jungle. He had pitch black hair, with dark blue eyes to match. “No trace of where she disappeared at. No sign of a struggle either.” He looked down, at the changing appearance of the King’s facial expression. As it twisted into sadness, “Sir, I checked the shipping logs as well. Nothing left here last night or this morning.” He stepped back in line, the others glared at the man. In disapproval, and scorn. The High King, sat up from his throne. Gripping his warhammer, and placing it on his shoulder. He walked forward towards the dwarf, extending his free arm to meet the the dwarf’s hand. “Thank you, Captain Yufuc. I appreciate the honesty you keep with me. You’ve shown a great deal of promise, and I respect a fellow dwarf who can speak his mind without fear.” He cracks a short smile, before he heads for the door. “Find her.” Actions: The Mountain Highway project continues. 8. Kingdom of Hilmedhi The waves crashed into the ships of the Hilmedhi ‘fleet’, the jungle wood creaked as it swayed up and down throughout Reaver’s bay. Throck stood on the deck peering out across the salty ocean water that glistened off the Sun’s light. He looked around his ship, the men were excited. Only a select few merchants had witnessed another civilization before, and these dwarfs would soak in every second. He smiled as the pain of his daughter’s departure was finally washing away. His worries began to fade. On the horizon, laid the capital of Galahar. A beautiful sight of naval prowess and trade. The High King watched his daughter’s face light up in joy, her new home was exactly what she had dreamed of. On the outside it appeared to be a dream, but on the inside she knew it was a nightmare. She turned towards her father, and gave him a tight hug. A tear forming in the corner of her amber colored eyes. “Thank you.” She looked up at him after stepping back from the embrace. The pair started laughing at her tears, as Throck reached up and wiped it away with his hand. Airlia, straightened up her posture and sniffed a bit to regain her composure. “Why did mom not attend Dad? Does she hate me for wanting this?” The King was taken aback a bit by his daughter’s sudden outburst. Dealing with this regularly with his citizens and advisors but it is always different when it came to his daughter. He adjusted his armor, “No Airlia, she hates me for allowing it. She is bitter about losing you. To this Duke. She is failing to realize you are happy about it. It’s a hard lesson for her to learn.” He laughs, “Now that we broke our isolation from the world. We all have to learn and adapt. Even your mother will have to come out of her ways. I am hoping she will find her way.” Statistics: Population: 2,161,000 Military: 1,000 T1 Medium Inf. 500 T1 Light Inf 500 T1 Light Cav 500 T1 Light Archers Treasury: 22,000 Base: 3,000 Trade: 6,000 Economy: 4,000 Population: 6,000 Improvements: 3,000 With the discovery of the wood, that yielded ungodly amounts when chopped. 9. Kingdom Of Hilmedhi The High Queen sat on upon her balcony, looking out upon the setting sun. Reminiscing on her earlier years, the years before her royalty. Similar to her daughter, she traveled to a distant land. Far away from her home, but not as far as her daughter would travel. Her concern was beginning to melt with each passing day and her conversation with the Duke, but she lingered on a few word. Sending her only child into a ‘pit of vipers’ was not something a parent would usually do but politics and security sometimes changed that. Over the past year, she had trained Airlia more than she usually does. In all manners, political or in warfare. She broke her stare that rested upon the horizon, and let out a sigh. She only had a year left with her daughter. She would try to enjoy it the best she could, but she could feel herself slipping closer and closer to darkness. ------- Actions: Treasury: 18,000 Base: 3,000 Trade: 3,000 Economy: 4,000 One-Turn: 1,000 Population: 6,000 Improvements: 1,000 In the Jungles of Hilmedhi, a group is sent out to explore the jungle even further. 10. Kingdom of Hilmedhi The Start of a New Era The halls of Cinder’s Valley, filled with music and cheers that were typical heard in a tavern. Many of its patrons were jolly and cheerful in celebration. Trade with other ‘beings’ was soon to start, many were excited that they would be traveling to explore new places, as 99% of the Hildemhi population had never left the lush forest or the icy peaks of it’s peninsula . A few dwarves were dancing around the room, carelessly as if they just struck gold. Some others in the room were less excited, and rightfully so. High Queen Ruthna, looked at the room and shook her head in disappointment. They were to relaxed, and she understood why. Though many had forgotten the history of their people. She looked over to Throck. “You know why I cannot enjoy this celebration.” Her golden brown eyes were clouded with a mist of distrust, and it was brought out more by her amber hair. “This Leagu…” She was cut off by Throck’s chainmail covered hand being placed on her arm. The coldness of the metal links, sent a small chill down her spin. “Your concern is noted my love.” He shifted his head over towards her, his long white beard covering most of his facial features. The man had seen his fair share of the world, and what it had held. “Trust is earned, and they will be restricted to our port.” “I am worried about you.” “Worry to much, and see your mind lost. Have faith in our God, he will guide us in the right direction.” He tapped her on the arm, and moved it back towards his specially forged warhammer. “You’re more worried about our daughter, than I.” He chuckled, “She takes after you, these humans. Could not handle her.” He looked towards her again, as her smile cracked. The entire room around him went silent, her beauty captured his soul. As it always had. “Perhaps you are correct.” Her smile kept on. Her worries washed away. For now. In the background, a hooded dwarf was lurking in the shadows. His dark red beard peaked out. The only visible feature of his. He approached around the group slowly, approaching from behind Throck. As he creeped closer, and reached around for the King’s arm. The king reacted quickly, snatching the arm of the unknown man. Before letting go, as he peered through the shadows that concealed the man. “Thames. What the hell are you doing.” “Sorry my King. They are here.” He would give him the message, as he stepped back revealing his face. He had a slash down the right side of his face. His amber beard, connected to his long red braided hair. “I’ll meet you outside.” He raised his hood back up, and shifted his feet. “They are?” He looked at his wife, “We will be back. The Galaharians have arrived ahead of schedule.” He grabbed his engraved warhammer, and shifted his armor around. “Blessings come from above.” He kissed his wife on the forehead. ================================================================ Kingdom Information Character’s: High King Throck Cinder IV Age: 40 Location: Cinder’s Valley Relationship: Married to Ruthna Situation: Negotiations with the Duke High Queen Ruthna Cinder Age: 35 Location Cinder’s Valley Relationship: Married to High King Throck Situation: Drinking her worries away. 11. Nation Name: Kingdom of Hilmedhi BRIEF History: The people of the Hilmedhi, were normal humans for awhile. Living on the Hilmedhi Peninsula, the people in Hilemdhi were in a unique position. Protected from out threats from the mountain ranges on the east, but provided with fertile land and lumber from the forest and river that cut through the western section. They had not experienced any setbacks, until people discovered the vast wealth that was had on the peninsula. During what is considered in history as the Dark Nights. Having been backed against a wall, from constant raids, and assaults. High King Valen Cinder, had ordered his people into the mountain ranges. Abandoning the coastal cities, and fertile lands. For the safety and protection of the mountains that the elders had warned Cinder to do. After a three day, bloody march through the forest against enemy forces. The citizen’s had arrived at Cinder’s Valley. The new capital of Hilmedhi. When the light shined on the people of Hilmedhi, the people had begun to dig into the mountains just one hundred years after the ruination. They were becoming masters of stonework, and learning advanced mining techniques to carve out their first stone hall. They would soon realize what came with digging deeper into earth. They hit a store of magical energy, one strong enough to sweep through the surrounding area of Cinder’s Valley, for days the Kingdom laid in silence. Until the first one’s started to awake. They felt different however, with their bodies changed. Shorter than normal but stout, the magically energy was strong enough to change their body composition entirely. The first days of Change, held the Kingdom in turmoil. Similar to what the Dark Nights had brought. People were enraged at the change, while some others welcomed it. Praising it as a sign from the Gods, and they should welcome it. One man stepped forward and began, preaching the God of Creation. That he had spoken to him in his sleep, and that he was the one responsible for their change. That they should worship him, like they did before. Thanking him for his many gifts, including the land they had settled upon. So changed the Kingdom forever, finding a god to worship. Devout in their worship to him. They began constructing temples of worship, even having personal shrines in their homes. High King Valen Cinder, had passed a decree that any worship of other god’s would be deemed heresy and punishable by death. The Church of Creation was pleased, and seeing their power grow. They took full advantage of this decree. Months later, King Cinder had fallen ill. Bed ridden, his son took over. The barely 16 year old boy took over, and his inexperience led to him seeking guidance which he received from the Church. The young boy, thought they were helping him out of the kindness of their heart. But like most, they just seeked to increase their power even further. For years, they exploited the boy. Years they used him to increase taxes that would be given to the church, and giving them power for them to take authority into their hand when dealing with heretics. Until one day, they claimed his sister as a heretic. Which he defended in his honor. The Church saw her as their biggest threat. With her ways, she could not be left to live. After weeks of keeping her hidden, the Church found her, and murdered her in cold-blood. Soon after this would trigger one of the darkest, and well hidden secrets of Hilmedhi. Know only as the Culling to the modern Hilmedhians, High King Valen Cinder II demanded a meeting with the Church leaders. After they meet in the throne room, they doors were slammed shut. Valen II raised from his throne, his war axe in hand. His men followed suit, and the massacre began. Cutting down, every church official there was in his way. He left one alive, the youngest. His friend, Thames. Swearing him into a vow of silence for the reminder of his life. The new Cardinal of Change, would never speak a word again. The ways of Mad King Cinder II are mostly forgotten, the Cinder family still rules Hilmedhi. That soon might change, with no living hier left. 16. The Republic of Mexico Wilson Villarreal walked down the hallways of his home, the freshly re-elected President of Mexico had made waves during his first term. The man who stood up to the cartels his entire career, survived assassination attempts and still kept fighting had won the people’s hearts once again. He adjusted his suit, and tie as he looked out the window. Letting out a sigh as he had more work to complete. Wilson’s life was in constant danger, the threat of the cartel’s and political corruption that plagued Mexico for decades.
