Have you ever roleplayed before - if you have, how?: -  I have roleplayed on Garry's Mod, Minecraft, IRC, etc.. 

Have you been on any other roleplaying servers?: - I've roleplayed on Aeonis, and some other ancient RP server which I cannot remember the name of. Both are currently shutdown. I also currently RP on HL2RP on GMOD.

Have you applied to this server before?(Please link past applications): - No.

How did you hear about us?: - 30326 was kind enough to show me the server, and now I am rather interested.

What do you think the server will be like? - A fun, and generally ecstatic roleplaying experience in which I can play an   exotic character, and develop from there. I always enjoy roleplaying, and hopefully LOTC can provide me with the best experience possible.

Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - Yes.

What’s your favourite rule / the rule you agree with the most?: -  The no client-side advantages one. Usually helps preserve the roleplaying experience.

Definitions

This is simply so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not another website / person's!

What is roleplaying?: -  Basically, You're playing the role of your character within the game world. Your character has it's own traits, flaws, etc.. It is generally as if you were to be transferred into someone elses body, and you control their actions, speech, etc.

What’s metagaming?: -  Metagaming is when you use OOC information on your character, which it wouldn't otherwise know besides the OOC sources.

What’s powergaming?: -  Forcing an action on another player, such as **Bob would smash the king's face in and steal his crown and kill all the guards. He didn't allow anyone else to react, nor did he realistically play out the situation. 

In-Character Information

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

What’s your character called?: -  Verrik Steelsmith

What race are they (and sub-race)?: - A Mountain Dwarf.

What sex are they?: - Male

How old are they?: - 153

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore when writing): -  

Verrik Steelsmith was born in the grand city of Kal'Azgoth. He couldn't remember much of his childhood, and he didn't really care. Verrik lived to mine, and generally help his community with whatever work needed to be done. Most days, his schedule went a bit like this; He would wake up, dress himself, eat a hearty meal, mine for most of the day, do a bit of combat practice at home, eat, and repeat. He enjoyed his lifestyle, talking with his mates in the mines, and generally living the optimal life for him. He occasionally ran into some valuables, such as gems, and occasionally a crazy, old dwarve's dangerous, unsupported mine. Verrik made sure the mines he worked in were well supported, and the like. Soon, Verrik had a growing interest for architecture.

  

A few seasons later, Verrik began to gather lumber, storing it up. Eventually, he began to built a small cabin out in a mountains. He etched beautiful engravings, and made it a good place to stay if he decided to take a trip. Verrik stocked the cabin with many logs, and set off back to his homeland. He made sure to make time to go there once in a while, usually bringing many companions to enjoy his time. He always had a liking for architecture, sometimes adding stone walls, iron gates, whatever it may be to his cabin each visit. Eventually, he got to adding a mine, and it became a sustainable location. Some of his mates offered to tend the farm, and Verrik had himself a nice trip each time he went. 

 

Verrik was rather surprised when one day, whilst staying at the cabin, a knock tapped the door. He usually didn't get visitors this far out, so he cautiously approached the door, sword drawn. He unlocked the door, pushed it open, and a bandit ran in. Verrik chased him throughout his cabin, and it seemed he had no goal. Verrik soon realized it was a distraction. His cabin was burning, and the bandit hurriedly ran out the door as Verrik attempted to ease the flames. He ran into his mines, trying to avoid falling debris. Soon enough, the house collapsed. Only a few crops and large opening that let light in breached the mine, trapping Verrik for quite a long time.

 Verrik used the little soil and rain the mine got from the opening to start a farm, allowing him to eat. He didn't want to mine out, as the entire mine could collapse with most of the supports gone. Verrik did this for many years in his cave, awaiting his unfortunate death, or help. Eventually, help arrived. It was one of his old comrades, Argon. Argon thought his friend died in the accident, and was surprised to see him still living. He through a rope into the opening, allowing Verrik to climb out. Verrik left his cave to enter a new world, to him, at least. Much like a prisoner in jail for many years, Verrik was unaware of the many new settlements, and the occasional invention that had happened in his cave-dwelling. He didn't know what would happen next, but he set out back for his homeland, hoping he was remembered.

 

What are they like (personality)?: -  Verrik is very kind, although if you mess with him, his comrades, or his family, he will protect them at any cost. He will do his best to earn his keep, and support the community. Verrik isn't one to lie, although if he needed to, he could crop up a pretty good one.

What are their ambitions?: -  Verrik wishes to become a memorable architect, to set his name in stone. He wishes to help those who can be helped, and combat any who oppose his Dwarven comrades. Verrik is one to fight and act for his beliefs, and not sit around for someone to do it.

Do they have any special skills?: -  Verrik is a rather good architect, and is good with a sword.

What are their weaknesses?: -  Verrik doesn't know when to be really cautious, and when to not be. He probably could've escaped that cave easily with the remaining supports, but he was afraid he'd never be able to get back to his homeland again. Sometimes, that caution isn't needed, and can be a pain. He also is generally weak with bows, failing to be accurate.

Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: -  He's rather short, with fiery red hair. He has a dirty look to him, yet wears decent clothes. Verrik looks a bit shady, although he has a very open and friendly smile.
