As you may know, Reckreations from the YogCast has been hanging around the server recently. He will be making a trailer for us, but we are all out of ideas to put in it. And well, this is the perfect opportunity for another great competition.

Rules:

  • Simply post your ideas on this thread.

    The best ideas win.

Keep in mind that they might not be used in the video.

Prizes:

All three winners will be featured in the background of the LoTC Trailer!

Each of the races rejoicing in their own kingdoms great halls, up until the cracks of lightning and burning forests are shown in the next frame. Minion waves march through the forests in the north, with stave wielding undead summoning giants and fiendish hordes.

Views of the various races forging, crafting and organizing.

However, I would enjoy less emphasis on the undead and point out somewhere in the trailer that not all the nations are united, and quarrels between nations could be still be present.

I would do a LotC version of the Game of Thrones intro. Instead of a Westeros map of course use an Aegis one and do the flythroughs of all the cities. Instead of the floating Game of Thrones logo it could be the server logo with the flames and what not around it.

Perhaps fly through a quick scene of all of the promenent figures, such as kings and such, then show acended, then show the undead in the north and create a metiphorical shadow that is tainting across Aegis.

*queue peaceful music*

Two halflings are sitting on top of Enduren, enjoying their picnic and the incredible view.

H1: What a beautiful place!

H2: I agree!

H1: Nothing better than a....

H2: ...What is it?

H1 points out to the distance. Three men in black robes are standing.

*queue epic movie music*

The camera zooms in on them. They all some a ton of mobs, but the viewers only see this for a split second. The scene flashes to the camera skimming over the treetops of Laurelin. It passes over Laurelin, and the scene changes right as the camera enters the Cloud Temple. We see the Oren Army lining up at the gate, flashing off their military power. Then we see a nimble wood elf, shooting an arrow and precisely hitting a tree that is a good 30 blocks away. The next scene is an orc and a dwarf in a drinking contest.

The camera then switches back to the original halflings, who are running for their lives. They run and both jump into a seemingly bottomless whole. This takes us to our next scene, in Kal Urguan. The camera briefly tours their, and then it looks into the lava their. When it looks away, the scene appears to have magically switched into the Undead city in the Nether!

The final view is an Undead army with their leader at the front charging the Wandering Wizard and the Ascended. Just as they are about to meet, the video ends.

The "cameraman" so to say, would need a flying mod for this to work. I think it would be super epic and draw a ton of server attention.

drplat's idea is really good, but I would take some ideas from the other ones and add them to his, like the fly overs of the major cities, also some of the inter race conflict. What we are really looking for here is something to appeal to all side areas and to promote the general awesomeness of the world in a professional way. So perhaps put some trade, RP and other stuff in there.

It would be a funny WoW tribute if we had orcs cutting some trees for lumber and then, out of the trees, a bunch of elves attack them (going along with the inter-race combat).

I like drplat's idea. Its an original, and interesting concept that would look good for the server and would attract publicity. The part of the Halflings would really bring a bit of the true RP feel into a trailer.

Maybe you could show all the capital cities and Haven. Then you show undead marching through portals out of the nether, a town being destroyed and then that town disappearing off the map. The winners could stand in their kingdom's capital next to their King, Prince or Rex.

*Queue "Epic" music as the camera pans across a map of Aegis and a strong voiced narrator announces : Aegis, the new land.

*Camera pans to the location of the Cloud Temple on the map and flies in very quickly through the clouds as if falling from the sky and begins to slowly circle the temple. The narrator says whilst this happens : All beings regardless of race are born in the Cloud Temple, the sanctuary of God. Including...

*The camera switches to an areal view of Al'Khazar and pans above it while the citizens are seen trading, quarreling, and doing Human role play. And then it swoops in, cinematically flying through the wondrous city. The narrator says whilst this happens : Humans. A morally neutral race, created from the very sands of the earth mixed with the water and lava from the two caverns of the Temple. Neither Good nor Evil, but susceptible to both.

*The camera then switches to an areal view of Laurelin and pans above it while several elves are seen climbing the trees, trading, practicing archery and doing Elvin role play. And then it swoops in, cinematically weaving in and out between the trees. The camera does this and shows emphasis on the Elvin beauty. The narrator says whilst this happens : Elves. These beautiful and ancient creatures inhabit the forests of Aegis. They were the first race created by God in the world of Aegis, ancient in wisdom and with a rich culture, they live in relative peace and harmony.

*Then the camera switches to Kal’Urguan and flies through the city while dwarves are seen drinking ale, hammering on their anvils, blacksmithing, mining, and doing Dwarven role play. While it does this the camera flies through to emphasize the fact that the city is underground. The narrator says whilst this happens : Dwarves. These sturdy warriors are tireless, courageous and great companions. Although quick to anger, Dwarves show great compassion and love to friends and relatives.

*Finally the camera switches to Sanjezal and flies through it cinematically while orcs are seen drinking ale, bashing heads, fighting, arguing, and doing Orc role play. The camera flies through the city to emphasize the strength of the orcs. Whilst this happens the narrator says : And Orcs. No race is more adapted to the harsh deserts and its predators. To an Orc, the most important thing is the hunt and the protection of his tribe and clan.

*Then, as all of the rival races are seen battling in a large field, lightening strikes in various places. All of the beings stop battling and watch in awe and horror as 6 undead rise from the ground. They simultaneously raise their golden hoes and thrust them down as hundreds and hundreds of zombies and skeleton emerge from the ground. As all of the races come together to combat the minions of the undead, 3 ascended drop from the heavens, almost with a godlike glow. The undead and the ascended charge eachother while a full out war between good and evil is being fought in the background. Just as they are about to clash, there is a bright flash and the Lord of the Craft logo is shown and the trailer closes. Whilst this is happening, the narrator announces : Though there are many things the races of Aegis do not agree on, one force drives all of them together ( the undead rise from the ground ). The undead. ( The minions are summoned and the ascended drop from the heavens ) However good has always found ways to fight the undead rule. These beings are the ascended. Fighting an eternal war in the world of... ( screen flashes and shows the LotC logo ).

END.

Hope you guys like it!

I would like to see some panning shots over the world, over each kingdom.

but in the end everything turns dark and the undead comes and attacks al'khazar (or any other city). And the citizens of aegis is losing. But then the ascended comes and drives the undead away.

And then the lord of the craft logo comes and it goes BAM BAM BAM BABAM! ;) (epic music)

Here's mine! :D

-Peaceful Music-

The world of Aegis

*Quick video comp of the four capitals*

Has been in peace for many, many years.

*All races shown trading and getting along*

But

-Dramatic Music-

What happens when Iblees releases his undead, upod the lands of Aegis?

*Undeads killing and ravaging, burning everything*

Will the bond between the nations last, or will war be waged?

*Racial leaders of the four descendant races arguing*

Or will they fight together, as one?

*Pan over army of descendant raced armies*

Will they meet defeat?

*The Undead slaughtering alot of descendants*

Or will they need help?

*Descendants forced to retreat by the Undead*

Who would help them?

*Ascended surrounded by white shimmering light* (Lord of the rings, Helms deep style)

Or what would help them...?

*Ascended forcing the Undead to retreat*

Join Lord of the Craft, and help the decide the outcome!

The voice over would be done with the dramatic trailer voice that some people possess.

As music I'd suggest Two Steps from Hell, as they're an awesome orchestral dramatic music composing group.

I like DKWON's idea of perhaps having brief spoken intros to the races.
