The Earth Opens It's Great Maw[!]

The earth shattered, rocks fell, animals cried in fear, and nature shed tears.

 

A rift opened up in Dwarven Lands, opening up a large ravine, exposing the bear earth to the light. As the rift appeared, animals and trees were swallowed up and deposited at the bottom of the pit. The air was stiff with dust and debris, almost too hazy to see in front of you. At the bottom of the ravine, deep inside of the cave, a creature stirred. There he was, and awake he did.

 

Creatures in the ravine began to stir, they began to mass around the great creature. There, they waited. There, they amassed their numbers.

 

 

A Dwarven patrol stationed near the valley heard the crashing and wrenching noises as the rift opened and hurried over to the site of the ravine. There they saw the massive scar in the land that had been created. One Dwarf caught sight of the large group of vile creatures and reported it to the captain there with them. Fearing for their safety, the Dwarves returned to Kal’Ithrun with their story.

 

 

A Dwarven Legionaire approaches the King and his Lords to report the situation. Bowing low to the King and his Lords, he shares his story.

“Meh Keng an ‘is Lurds. Ah com tu ye tudey wit da storeh ov da earf openin up en oor lends. Ah wus leadin meh patrul aroond da lends dat ye oon, an weh herd ah greeat crash an buum. Hurryin’ oveh, weh saw ah beg reft en da gruund. Luckileh, et ded nae seem tu cut entu da deep roods. Howevah, un ov meh men saw sum creaturs amassin aruund sumfin glowin at da buttom. Ah duane nooh ‘ow bad dis fing es, su ah com tu ye wit dis infu. Weh ded nae spend enuff toime der tu foind oot wut et wus eider.”

Bowing agan, the Dwarven Captain waits for the Lords to respond.

Lord Onar stands there in awe, barely believing what he is being told.

"Bah Yamakar's bread! W'at could d'is possibleh beh? 'ave weh angered dah gods?"

Grand King Indago Stormhammer listens to the sudden news brought to him.  After the event was announced to him, he sits there quietly.  Those around him do not say a word as they see the king contemplating in his mind.  Moments later, Indago dismisses those who are present around him.  The small group of dwarves leave to talk amongst themselves outside of the throne room.  Indago feels his hands become sweaty, and he became uncomfortable upon the throne he sat on.  His mind raced, thinking of the words told to him,

 

"The night is bright, as the day becomes dark.  Water brings life to those who can not see."

((Hey dreek, perhaps make it, so that it is spanned across a long period of time.  So let's say one day it opens and three - 5 days later, a dwarf is sent below or maybe a beast emerges the depths.  It can both be a long term event and something to rp about.  I'm not sure that's what you were planning but that's my opinion.  I'd love to help you build such an event once I make event team.  *nudge *cough *nudge.))
