Blood Honor

Volund stands in the nation's crossing with a wry smile on his face as he looks upon travelers. All around him are Goths wait idly. Many with dented helmets, nicked shields, and dented swords. They look on, leaning on their weapons or standing idly as Volund begins to speak.

"All peace temporary. Goth do have blood honor to ensure on Goth honor we no betray your forces in one battle. Each battle must have blood honor pact for Goth not betray side it fights on. Give good deal, Goth fight."

Turning, the Goths begin to march off towards their boats. Their gear rustles noisily and weapons clank together.

((Very good at denting swords mate. Though in seriousness it is usually happens when iron is worn/fatigued and when that happens it is very easy to dent (as Lark has shown in the image). Usually people buy new blades at that point because it costs more to repair a dented blade than to buy a new one. Also when a sword is dented it is probably unsafe to use in combat as well as it may shatter. Why is the group carrying it? Because goths love their battle-used weapons/armor even if it is horribly damaged.
