The nostalgia goggles are quite prominent on this thread, Aegis was only good because it was the first thing that veterans were exposed to, giving them the concept of it being superior. When Aegis was a mess of land-scarring, power-gaming and other rules that would have been broken to our standards today, what "I" want is the community back from Aegis. The community now I don't know of, but Asulon-Elysium was absolutely appalling, Aegis had the least worries compared to now with the constant ban reports and hate amongst each other. Prejudice which conflicts with everyone ooc'ly because people are simply being dicks. Maps don't make role-play, it is the members that actually make LOTC shine or currently, fall down from its former glory.

So if you want Aegis back, fix up the community.

I've tried 'fixing' people before. However the end results were rather gruesome to say the least...

Unfortunately, the community has lost many good members over the server's life, and even worse, gained many, many, many, more trolls, whiners, and flame-war starters.

The Best thing about Aegis was the community. Not the map, not the rules, the community. Where people were laid back, cool to the new players, all that good stuff. Another point is Aegis was largely pre-built.
