[Wanted] Archduke's Aide

A well-pressed paper notice is found placed on a notice board outside the royal keep in Abresi. It reads,

 

 

 

 For 11 years prior I ran Herendul as a Kingdom, before stepping down to Archduke to join my Kingdom into his majesty's. The running of a Kingdom or an Archduchy is an occupation all-consuming of one's time and energy.

 

Furthermore, it has come to my attention that my former advisors and secretaries have risen to new responsibilities or fallen to the scythe of time. For these reasons I have thought it prudent to put out a notice for an aide to assist with the burden of my affairs.

 

The following seems to be written in a different hand,

 

The man, or woman, who is deemed fit to take this position will possess the following qualities:

•Prudence in judgment.

•Utmost trustworthiness.

•Willingness to learn of noble politics and affairs.

•Willingness to make acquaintance of oneself with the events within and withouts of the Archduchy.

•Eloquence in writing, and the time to make use of it.

•A level head.

•Suspension of one's own opinions when necessary.

•Lack of vested interests in Orenian politics and nobility excluding the service of the Archduke.

•Dedication to service.

 

The man, or woman, who is deemed fit to take this position will be expected to perform the following duties:

•Assist in the management of the affairs of House Winter (locating fitting spouses, etc.).

•Assist in the management of the affairs of the Archduchy (monitor productivity in vassal lands, keep the Archduke aware of relevant happenings within the Archduchy).

•Assist in the management of the affairs of the Kingdom (when the Archduke is in need of services pertaining to the activities of the privy council).

 

The man, or woman, who is deemed fit to take this position will receive the following benefits:

•A vast wealth of experience in Orenian politics, nobility, administration of the Archduchy, and administration of the kingdom by way of the Archduke's privy seat.

•The surplus prosperities of the Archduke when seen as fit.

•A well appointed country home abutting the Archduke's own in the southeastern Savoyard countryside, in close proximity to Abresi.

•Powerful friends.

 

If the applicant is found suitable for the position, he or she will be extended an invitation to sit for an interview with the Archduke. Please address all written applications to the Archduke himself at his residence in Herendul.
