*As you walk through the temple posters hang and flap in the wind, hung up on the newsboard, on the tavern, and around the grounds on light posts. The posters have a gold shine to them and curious enough you decide to take a look*

The Tavern's Merry Spirit~

"A Tavern is the heart of any civilization. It brings joy to those who talk tall tales, comfort to another who sit by the fire and take in its warmth, and pleasure to others who drink and brawl."

A new beginning has begun in the Valiant's Tavern at the Cloud Temple Refuge. Spike and his fellow monks, partners, and friends have opened the tavern to its full potential. Starting in a couple elven weeks time a gathering shall be held at the tavern, whether is be a tournament or a drinking galore, every two to three elven weeks to spark interest towards the temple. During these festivals those who participate shall be enticed to a wonderful time as they eat, drink, and take in the event.

Every festival shall be unique to its time during the year, making each one exciting and interesting. All races, people, and religions has been thought of when planning this, so there will always be a festival someone will love, while another spites. These events will always be held at the end of an elven week ((Friday, Saturday, or Sunday)). The times for events do not vary though, and will always be held as the sun sets and the moon takes its place ((All events will start at 8pm and end when everyone leaves)).


Enough talk about how the tavern is sparking a new light, let us get on with describing some events which can be found in the pamphlet box!

*A smaller pamphlet can be seen sitting in a wooden box near the posters, the title of it being "Tavern Events!" and seems to be restocked regularly*

Fishing Tournament - Throughout the evening fishers will fish alongside the river, trying to catch the biggest, and most fish! This festival will last about an elven hour for it is a timed event. The tavern will be open to all wanting to come and watch, or participate, with soothing music and drinks. Those who participate have to pay a small fee, but in return get free cider during the festival! (more info can be given to those who want to fish)

Flower Festival - During this event flowers will be all around, almost consuming the tavern with their beautiful colors. People will be able to gaze and wander around as they look at some exotic flora! Flowers and nic-knacks will be for sale also.

Flea Market - Bustling people can usually be heard during this event as everyone talks and mingles at small tables set up on the side of the tavern. People will be able to set up their unique and priceless goods, basing off a first come, first serve idea (to a limit... we don't want everyone selling gems and ingots now do we?). All drinks will also be half off during this event. This festival is likely to happen more than once! (more info can be given to those who want to sell goods)

Animal Festival - To give our thanks to those animals who died to feed us this festival will be revolving around them. During the festival all meats will be half off and there may even be a boar-riding contest!

Firework/Starry Night Festival - Bring your lovers because this night is truly dedicated to the love and friendship that binds us together! This event will be held all throughout the tavern, garden, and river. Nicely set up picnic places will be provided with a bit of food, a bottle of wine, and small campfire to last the night all around. Those who wish to bring a lover and reserve a special spot can speak to Spike to plan accordingly!

Art Festival - During this festival people from all over Anthos can show their drawings and paintings at the tavern. Auctioning will be held if you would like to sell your painting on the side of the tavern, but reserve with Spike first! (Drawings/Paintings include: IRL Art, like drawing a character and giving it to someone through forums, MC paintings with great descriptions, and the like). Elegant Roseglow wine will also be sold half off during this event.

Thy Great Harvest Festival - This event is to say thanks to our tiny little farmers, the halflings, and to thy bountiful harvest given to us so far! Farmers can bring in their best, biggest crops for a small contest that will be judged by the monks! The winner will get a special prize dependendent on what the monks choose.

Archery Tournament - A special art that takes patience, agility, and strength! Mostly ment for the elves of the forests this contest will prove you are the best archer! During this festival people will compete to hit the targets using a bow and arrow. Any type of meat will be free to those who want to participate and build up their strength before the competition!

Dwarven Brawl & Gambling - The title says it all! Meant for Dwarves and Orcs alike, this festival will mostly be around the art of drinking and luck! Gambling will be held downstairs while drinking competition will be at the bar. Competitors must sign up before drinking and will have to pay a small fee, but get to drink all the drinks they can during the contest! Gambling you do not have to sign up, just take a seat and go on rolling some die! (more info can be given to those who want to drink against others)

Drink Tasting Festival - For those who desire to find that perfect drink they will come to love this is the place to go! During this festival small tables will be set about the side of the tavern for those brewers wanting to sell and advertise their drinks, giving away Free samples of what they got! Ranging from ciders to whiskeys, wines to ales, and beers to vodkas I am sure we will have it all! There will also be a small contest to see which brewer has the best drink! (more info can be given to those who want to rent a table)

Delightful Ball ~ During this festival the upstairs part of the tavern will be transformed into an elegant dance floor. With smooth, slow music the night couldn't get any better as you dance with your lover. All desserts during this festival will be free, but you must reserve what you want so we can fit your needs (like a nicely decorated cake :3).

Music Festival - To give all those who want to have music as a job this is your time to shine! Booths will be set around to those who want to sing, dance, and show off their instrument skills to all, and you may even be lucky enough to be hired to perform for someone! This festival will be filled with music, so none of the taverns will be playing. To want a booth and perform you must reserve with Spike beforehand.

Raffle Festival - During this event every 10 mina spent you will get a raffle ticket that will have a random number on it! At the end of the festival there will be a raffle, where those with the same numbers drawn will be able to pick a prize! ((plan on using a dispenser to give a piece of paper with a number on it and /roll # to draw numbers)). This festival has no special deals, but fireworks and music will be likely going off and playing!

Food Tasting Festival - Like the Drink Tasting Festival this event will be around tasting foods from different parts of Anthos! People wil be able to bring in their favorite, unique dish, dessert, or snack and have others try 'em. Small tables will be setup for those special cooks looking to show off their foods! (more info can be given to those who want a booth)

Event Location: Around and In Valiant's Tavern, Temple Refuge

Summary: These events are made to help spark up spawn with a bit of "Pa-zaz"... Give new players a feel for the server and older players a reason and wanting to come and hang around spawn fer a bit ^-^

Other Information: I plan on continuing this even if 4.0 comes. Hopefully when 4.0 comes I'll still have a tavern at, or near, spawn and will make another one of these event proposals with updated information if found neccessary.

Do you need the Event Team's assistance?: I would like the Event Team's assistance. I bet for some events an ET can add a little something to the table, like launch fireworks, help with contests, and even participate (like do gambling with others). They can also even add small bits to the party, like having a pig wander around the tavern looking at everyone eat Pork and other meats during the Animal Festival.

If so, do you require actors and/or builders?: I will definately need actors to give life to this; I dunno about builders yet, but I am sure one of the events will need a bit of help/work to get the concept

I'd recommend talking to Ixtec about this, he runs the monk festivals. It seems to be a good idea, and I'm behind it. Could add a bit of flare to the weekly events. I'll get Ixtec to give his thoughts and comment on this.
