Oren Guard!

Finally! :D The day has come. A large sum of money has been given to the Oren Guard and Archers.

A new training camp and base near Al'Khazar is nearly finished and just needs the final approval of the King before it is opened :P

The guard will now be getting pay, but first, Over the next few days (IRL) I'm going to sort out the names of each and every guard and recruit... I'm not giving out wages to a guard that is hardly ever around but to claim his wages :!:

Also, recruits do not get paid! Only full guard or archers get paid, do not ask me for wages if you are a recruit.

I should hopefully be able to sort out a room in the barracks for all the full guard/archers. Many have been complaining they have nowhere near Al'Khazar to store there belongings or a place to rest.

I am hoping to find a supplier of the Oren Guard. Contact me if you think your business is up for it. I do however, expect that with bulk buying I get a discount on the goods. I'll be buying things like Leather/Iron Armour, Swords, Bow's and Arrows.

Im hoping to somehow keep the north gate under our radar. Whether that be separating ourselves into two divisions, one for north gate the other for south, or just send guards over to the north gate to watch the gate. We need not only watch the south gate for the occasional bandits but more importantly watch the north gate so make sure the undead don't walk our streets.

It is now that we need the support of the public, and for them not to doubt the guard. The Oren Guard need to be at our best for the months ahead, As the undead get closer and closer to our capital.

So it has taken ((in game)) years and years of Edmund's rule and the fall of Snowy Fields, the fall of Alstion to finally pay the guards? To finally build a training base, to finally make a military?

There are so many dead because of your delays... There have been so many that have fallen... I write this not out of anger, not out of fear, but out of sadness...

A number of times I have seen my fellows fall, I have seen my best friend's die because we were the only guards against the evil and the taint. I have seen those I do not know rising up with us to push them back from Alstion Town, from Snowy Fields, when there were only a few guards to stand and help the citizens. Almost all who ventured there died, but I was able to get away. And now... so many are dead. Why did this take so long..?

At least now, we will have an army to bring the fight to them and a guard to keep them at our walls. I hope that means we will not have so many die needlessly and that we will be able to take our fallen bastions. I hope this means us civilians will no longer senselessly die as they are not properly trained and have never known what this kind of battle would be like. Maybe we will be finally able to feel safe in the walls of Al'Khazar.

But... why has it taken to long..? Why did it take the death of so many to see we needed this?

First the guards had a passive Captain, then they had no funding, then they had funding but no base, then the competent new Captain left and appointed three new captains, and through all of this, a third of the guards had no idea what they were doing, and another third never showed up except to claim their money.

I really didn't "leave" the guard I just made the Captains a job for those I find to be the brightest, I haven't been disappointed, never will be. I trust that you three will get along well. If you need me for advice, you may come to me, and even better if you have an idea come to me as well, I'm always open to new ideas on how to make our guard work even better.

Atriana, thank you for your input, you too are an example of the guard's smartest.

I know you did, I know you are smart, your a bright strategist that will help not only the guard but the Millitary as well.

I don't want to offend anyone by calling one smarter then the other, but many of my guards just leave and don't come back for a while to come back and expect to be paid, I will not allow it to happen anymore.

Captains will now keep eye on the recruits and the guards when I am not available to watch them myself. This doesn't mean you have to watch them like a hawk, just make a mental note of those who are doing gate duty, and those on patrol. If they come to you and ask for another task, ask them how long they did their last task for ((irl)) and then tell them to take a quick break, or to go do the other job.

All hardworking guards will receive a free drink and item of food that is available from the bar I'm creating to bring Minas into the guard. They will also be brought in at the end of the month to discuss promotions and ideas they have for the guard. All meetings will be at the end of the month, with a small quick meeting on Sundays ((not today though, on and off busy day for me))

I expect you to put in some good time if you want to be paid. I want you to make up for the time you wasted, but I don't want you to do it all in one setting. I want you to do it gradually, so that you don't get overworked.

With that said. I expect to hear good things from my Captains about you.

Sorry Captains i have not been around the city, I have been out scouting the north and around some areas. Hunting with a fellow recruit I shall return soon don't boot me yet.

Hmm.. Ok. But be back within the next few days(RL) as we are hooking to get everyone out to the new military training quarters. There are so many recruits and I certainly don't plan on promoting them all.
