A Reminder: The Blades Who Ought Weep

A notice is pinned to the Sillumir base of Haelun'or:

Elsillumiran are reminded that they take upon the cursed task of the Evarir not to draw blood or hurt the lesser denizens of the realm but do defend the cihi from that which threatens its existence. The word Elsillumir means, most directly "The Weeping Blades". It is therefore not befitting of a weeping blade to take joy in the act of killing. It is not befitting of a weeping blade to be violent when violence is not called for. It is not befitting of a weeping blade to insult and deride those who come to the gate— For you may make them enemies of Haelun'or.

The lesser elves who taken up residence in Haelun'or are not to be offered undue hostilities. They are not to be offered violence unless it is violence they offer themselves. It is therefore, unless the city is attacked or a mali'aheral attacked, lethal force need not be applied to any solution the Sillumir may administer.

Remember to kill is to be cursed. Remember the act of killing is cursed. Remember it is for the cihi you suffer.

Only the uruk derive excitement from killing. Only the twisted make it slow and painful.

Intelligent decisions must be made, Sillumiran. Do not smile, weep.

~ Elokarir'tir

((tl;dr less blading, more weeping))

Carduin 'Silversmile' Maeyr'onn does no weeping at this announcement - instead he simply smiles the sun's silver smile at his son Calendir, giving him a knowing look.
