But you... do take critique. The problem is you pick and choose the critique you listen to, and place some people's opinions over others until essentially you are listening to critique but are also following the path of least resistance. This annoys a large portion of the playerbase since you're trivializing their opinions, until there comes a point where they wonder why they should bother continuing to give their feedback when nobody listens to it.

At this point they either A) stop giving feedback or B) resort to snippy criticisms like the ones Jade pointed out. It's not their fault, really.

Although I think we can all agree please stop making silly news things, especially ones where you spend the majority of the time making sex jokes. Your job is to advertise and entertain.

We have been changing, you may not see it yet, but the critiques we got on my feedback survey were well received even the bad ones.

You have only two active members now.

A lot of the time you guys say something will happen but it doesn't, please remedy that.

Trailers are meh, show more about what the server is actually about.

Work more. I am skeptical some things truly take as long as they do, like trailers and such -- picking up the pace and contributing a fair amount is what I'm getting at.

While these arent that bad, or that great, we have taken these into discussion. Sky and myself are working to remedy a lot of the concers.

1. Inactivity ~ The purge

2. More Battle Videos ~ Working on, have released more recently

3. No News ~ Have put it on hiatus until we can make something worthy

4. More gameplay ~ Being done as we speak.

I wrote like 3 paragraphs on this but decided to keep it simpler for the sake of sounding like less of a, uh... french shower.

Jade, the approach you take is standoffish and whilst I can understand defensiveness when your work is criticized, you need to ease off a little. You're in a position of service because you volunteered to be, if you cannot bare feedback from those you are serving- no matter how it is phrased- perhaps you should think about whether you're cut out for being a volunteer, or at the very least, if you should be so active in threads that involve a subject you're not particularly skilled in. Defensiveness is cool and fine, but ranting at people whom are trying to give feedback is not. It doesn't matter if they, much like me, are having a shower in France. It's wierd to join a stranger in the shower, especially in France.

It means people are douches, don't be one back. :D

Hmm, and here I was going to see if you wanted to join in the shower in Italy.

But in all seriousness. I do try not to get so defensive. I take critiques to heart. Its a bit harder to be so when some give you "attacking" comments. T_T

Yeah, I know that feeling x3

My approach is to just avoid situations where it's an optional issue. Only deal with it if I have no choice.

I'd agree Jade, but it doesn't just fall on you. The Media Team as a whole is quite bad at not taking advice or critisim well. I suggested this a long, long while ago, but I'd like to remind you. Sometimes it's best to swollow your pride, nod your head and smile, instead of biting back.

I'd also agree on the general idea of the purge. It was pointless, and didn't really need to be done. I hope to see some actual clever player-making content soon.

Problem is, El_Hwaldaro,

Time and again we post content, weekly now, for people to see. We take critiques that can /help/ us fix things. There is such thing as a bad critique. When we get posts as "this was cringe worthy" on videos not made by Zilldude (gasp!). We get complaints we dont do anything, that you guys dont SEE us doing anything. We get complaints you want trailers or battle videos, yet when we /do/ post them we get "Cringe Worthy". Comments such as "The area is too dark, cant see anything" is far more helpful than "That was cringe worthy" or "Horrible" or even "that was great".

I honestly dont care if you have something negative to say about the videos or the team itself /IF/ you can provide something in your "critique" that can be used to make things better. So please, before you go on a rant about how we aren't "Credible" look through the comments we get. If they are negative and attack us in some way, we will be defensive. If they are negative and /HELP/ us, we take it in.

Here is an example of some GOOD feedback we got that we wish the community could continue to do.

Yes this is a harsh critique, but they are helpful. These kinds of critiques are desired. You can be harsh, you can be nice. So long as you critique, in some way, helps us get better.

I am not trying to be defensive or cruel to anyone, I just want people to understand. A critique is something that has your opinion in it, but we want Constructive Criticism that is meant to help us get better.

Here's something that can help then

Learn to take all of critique in instead of phasing out the "bad".

Cringe worthy is not good enough? How exactly should we call a cringe-worthy video then? Would you prefer shitty? Or perhaps ******* disgusting pile of donkey dongles? Cringe worthy is the least people could think off.

The cringe-worthy content was mainly the news outlets, as I HAVE read the comments and people liked the trailers from the looks of it. Battle videos - no idea, but I doubt they were received negatively.

You people are like typical writers - can't take honest, unfiltered and unsweetened critique. You don't like it? No one is forcing you to stay and continue this job.

The threads purpose was simply to explain a simple change, that I assumed the community would notice and being the narcissist that I am, decided to make a thread about it. Though common, it strangely turned into a thread for criticism and although personally I enjoy reading through it, I believe the thread has done its purpose.

I do thank you for the comments though, it's quite a read and does show certain points that need to be worked on, both on and off of the team. So not a total loss.
