[Ooc] Addressing Shamanism

Greetings, Elders and wannabe Shamans! Due to a few recent misunderstandings involving the four Subtypes of Shamanism, I've created this thread to clearly advertise a subject that was unfortunately overlooked when this subforum was created.

As of November 24th 2013, the time when the thread 'Let Loose The Magic' was posted, Shamanism became a 'Locked' magic-
meaning that the four subtypes of the magic were restricted from normal players unless they were accepted by the current High Shaman and the shaman council. The reason why this change was implemented, and why it is so important, is the fact that- much like Druidism- certain critical parts of the magic are hidden from public view, and are only known the current, initiated shamans. This includes predominantly rituals, which involve a certain combination of the Old Blah, Narcotics, and tribal music to perform the various aspects of the magic. Additionally, as Shamanism is one of the more complex magics of LotC, if anyone not instructed properly performs an act of the this magic, they could be unknowingly powergaming over other people, which would lead to an overly avoidable lot a drama and unhappy players. Making it a locked magic prevents all of this, and in fact generates more roleplay for the shaman in training, the teacher or teachers, and anyone who's got caught on the wrong side of a badly cast blessing or Hex; as we all know that failing can be just as fun as succeeding, in some situations.
I understand that a few people have recently gone to a lot of effort to start their Shamanism journey, and I apologise, and can only hope that with this thread such unfortunate events can be prevented in the future.
Happy Apprenticeships!

For those who are interested in who shamans are and who you can learn from, I will be making a thread with the official list of shamans within the next week.
