  1. You are a culture. Not a subrace. Let me explain a little thing about cultures. They develop over time and generally meld into the system. Things that don't work outright are either a.) destroyed or b.) changed drastically. Let's take Wood Elven culture. As of now you have 'Bronze' Wood Elves, and 'Nature' Wood Elves. These two different ways of life work together and have developed and grown along with their playerbase. High Elves are developing their own ways of doing things (while not exactly separate cultures yet, the conservative High Elves have made sure of that!). What is the Snow Elven purpose? Why are they separate?
  2. Your culture needs a theme, a goal, a support, and a purpose. Then, and only then, will you have a strong group.

These two points are a big thing. Even Dark elves have different cultures. No not "Edgies and semi non edgie",

We have the old culture with Vallulei as the god, this includes the dark trinity, the moonies, and a few others.

We also have the ancestrial darkies or new darkies, which include oussana, raven'kor, and other clans. We live well together but we have quite different views.

And then we also have the stereotypical Edgy ninja assassin with 20 blades. Whom, we do kill if we see. XP

Being the founder of the Illatian culture, I believe you need certain prestige and uniqueness for a culture to succeed.

The Snow Elves from my perspective are just... Why do they exist? Even though I enjoyed roleplay with some of you, there is no valid RP reason why you guys try to replicate Frozen in a way to be seperate. Be apart of the other elves, refound the name and culture to get rid off your dust and get less Dwarvish?

Actually, I am very curious as to why your new leader is. Spill the beans and if any speak ahead of IC knowledge, get a GM to reprimand them. I want the current leader of the Snow Elves to tell me that they are alright with me about to post a blunt [not harsh though] feedback that actually might in turn help you all.

I'm cool with you posting feedback on us

Ah, I remember the time when I christened the snow elves 'snelves' in a skype call with Kalameet at 2 AM.
It was the same day Thundrak and his brother nearly killed Lelien for being curious as to why they were slightly cold (which at the time I thought they were simply unaware that Frost Witches couldn't be male).

The culture was... rather forced. I like the idea and all, love the willingness to become a culture, but the manner of execution was poor.

It will be difficult to get over the stubborn ones (like myself IC and OOC) to let this bloom into something with the other elves.

I wish you luck.

If I understand correctly, Narthok IS the new leader of Fenn.  Not that I don't like Buff as a friend (he's my best friend IRL), but I think this will improve our standing among other nations.  I /am/ slightly annoyed that he voided my position as Lord Engineer, but I will do what is best for Fenn.  Also, Narthok has COMPLETELY redone the rankings, making us a three-player Council instead of everyone being an unrespected Lord.  He has renamed everything to be more Elvish, and he has won the liking of everyone.  I feel that under Narthok, snelves can rid themselves of the OOC and IC hatred engendered by Buff.

I think the removing the old leader is the best possible start towards fixing what is obviously an issue. The Snow Elves didn't receive respect from the other Elves at any point along the line, because the culture seemed forced, the leaders acted self-entitled and the group never seemed remotely Elven (all of those are both IC and OOC). However if you do want to be seen as Elves instead of just Elven Dwarves, I'd suggest that while trying to fix your image, you also try to foster positive relations with the rest of the Elves. This doesn't even have to mean living with them, like has been suggested. But picking a 4.0 spot closer to them, and trying to get involved with them would do wonders for making the Snow Elves seem more like Elves.

Image is most important. And that goes beyond just appearing more Elven too. As has been stated, the Snow Elves have a tendency to act really big, tough, and to antagonist pretty much everyone both ICly and OOCly. This has never worked out well, and never will. Thought emoting on every thread you come across (an exaggeration, made because this happens far more than it should) doesn't make anyone look good either. The "*would note that bla bla bla" stuff is a waste of a post.

I'll just end this by suggesting you encourage trying to stick more to the rules, instead of encouraging loopholes like the former leader. For example, changing your name as soon as you get captured and pretending it's a different character is despicable, and quite honestly pathetic. When even a single person from a group does something like this, it can reflect poorly upon the whole group. No groups are immune to that, no matter how big or small.

Good luck, guys. I'll make no secret of my opinion that the previous leadership has put the whole group in a difficult spot from the very start.

Now, from my dealings with snow elves (and with their former leader), they tend to make enemies quickly.

I'm going to give my two cents here, most of it has been said already :/

1. Change leadership, ICly, buff doesnt seem like the best choice for Grand Prince. Narthok, you've made way more progress in a few weeks than I've seen buff do during his entire reign.

2. Make peace, not war.

3. Talk to the HElves, talk to the WElves, even the DElves. Become a part of their society so that instead of being disliked ICly by them, you can be one of them, and the elves can rise again once more. There is the whole OOC pride affecting your decisions regarding that, but as people have said, it's time to suck it up and go with what is most beneficial for the server and for your playerbase.
