*A note is pinned on the notice board of the Cloud Temple, along with a few wooden posts near the Dwarven, Elven, and Human lands*

"As a question purely meant for research, could you, the citizens of Thales, tell me what the properties of a drake's scale is? I know that when a drake perishes, it's body slowly tarnishes and disintegrates to the point where it's practically unrecognizable, but I have heard that there are a few who have been lucky enough to procure a scale or two off it's dying body. So I ask now, what can a drake scale withstand? Is it entirely impervious to fire and steel?"

*The note is signed "Archibald Vallero"*

*A note is written on the notice board.*

"Drakes are the result of a dragon's total and complete corruption by dark magic. This weakens their scales, and causes their entire body to disintegrate upon death. The only way to procure a scale without it disintegrating would be to steal it from a drake without killing it.

As for properties, the scales are /very/ resistant to fire, but nowhere near as strong as good, steel armor.

~Sincerely, Esmie Weatherwax."
