Definitions

 

These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person!

 

What is roleplaying?: - Taking on the role of an imaginary person/being and expressing their thoughts and emotions for them.

 

What’s metagaming?: - Using info you know OOCly and automatically letting your character know it as well.

Example: Sue is talking to bobby on skype and bobby tells her he stashed a bunch of diamonds under his house. Sue then metagames and has her character Mary go dig up those diamonds

 

What’s powergaming?: - Forcing your character's actions onto someone elses' character, like playing god. It can also be making your character have too many overwhelming and OP traits and abilities.

 

In-Character Information

 

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that you follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

What race are they? (and sub-race if applicable): - Dwarf-Mountain

 

What gender are they?: - male

 

How old are they?: - 51

 

Give us a highlight of their past, What life events make your character the person they are today? This is your character's biography. It is also required to include server lore when writing. (Names of towns, major server events, ect. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): - Dunsten began his life in the Dwarven city of Kal'Arkon, born to a loving mother and father. Soon into his youth though, his mother vanished and all that was left in her place was a mysterious bright ruby. Very confused and distraught, Dunsten and his father went looking for her, but nae a trace or speck of her was seen. So they lived on in grief, and the years passed on, with Dunsten learning the proper ways of mining, as well as picking up basic combat abilities along the way. Then the lake exploded. In the middle of the lake a great slime hole opened up, and many of the citizens and legionaires were forced to defend their city against large gelatinous slimes that had poured from the hole. During this great confusion, Dunsten saw his father lead the counter charge into the hole. Unfortunately, the young dwarf's father did not return. Greatly saddened, Dunsten retreated into the back of Dwarven society and trudged on through his life, seeing the rise and the falls of many kings during the Fringe and Thales. Then, came the new world, and a new opportunity, Dunsten and made it through to this new land with his fellow dwarves. Here, he recognized a need for new faces in the reformed government, and here, he saw his chance to grow closer to the more prominent members of society.

 

What are they like? (personality): -  Dunsten is very awkward around dwarves who are many years his senior, preferring to stay quiet and not say much, this is likely due to his parents dying when he was young. However, among those his own age or even slightly older, as well as those of other races, Dunsten is quite normal. He is a passionate dwarf, always looking to help others out, barring any monetary help that is. The only real thing Dunsten cares about passionately is the Ruby that was left in the place of his mother.

 

What are their ambitions?: - Dunsten is looking to find out what is the secret behind the ruby, or even if there even is one. He is also looking to grow in dwarven society to a respected place, and to be regarded as a friend to all Dwarves.

 

Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): - Dunsten is particularly good at finding his way around a mine, and also has an interest in smithing and creating new types of tools for both mining and construction. Dunsten's greatest weakness is perhaps his shyness towards elders, and also his lack of parents doesn't prepare him for Dwarven social life, and as such leaves him doing awkward things that often seperates him from his kin.

 

Give us a description of how they look?: - Dunsten has brownish black eyes, a big nose, and a brown beard. For his clothes, Dunsten wears a bluish-black colored miner's outfit, with a red ruby embedded into his helmet. Dunsten also has a scar running down his left leg, a wound from a battle during the fringe, when a Human soldier barged into his house and attacked Dunsten.

Also, take a look at the Dwarven Language. Although only a few words are commonly used in game, make sure you understand the accent and know how to sue it.

 

Also, it is recommended (but not necessary) that as a dwarf you are part of a Clan from the server's lore. Information on clans be found here.
