The Sentinel's Fate

A dark and stormy day, with lightning flashing, and thunder crashing, brings mali rushing back to their homes. But there is more to it today. For today, the streets, the square, are filled with unnatural wails.

 

 

Screeching, grating on the airs, a horrible, hellish sound filled with agony tears into the storm-ridden skies, as smoke flails about the ground, and heat burns the rain right off the skin.

 

 

This is the Darkness. This is the End.

 

 

And so man and elf, green and bronze and silver flee into their homes.

 

For the smoke forms into a shape, into silver armour, into life and death, and everything in-between. And it is from this being which emanates the unearthly wails.

 

 

It is torn, and damaged, and broken. And that day, burning under the sun, it leaves.

 

 

But Silver stands eternal. The Darkness too. And it will be back.

 

 

After all, what can stand in the way of duty, when this duty is eternal?

 

The answer is nothing.

 

Tell stories of these days. Of a Sentinel of smoke, and fire, of living death.

 

 

These are his sacrifices. And he will sacrifice again.

 

 

((Alright guys. So here it is.

 

Some of you may already know, but circumstance demands that I put down the Sentinel for some time now. He is not being PK'd. Rather, he is in a state of limbo, so weak, so powerless, so conflicted, that he may not currently physically manifest as he once did.

 

He will again. But not today.

 

I loved RPing with you guys, be you ghost or helf, and it was some of the best times I've had RPing since my first month on the server. And I am grateful for that. Some shout outs to Novastral, to Samler/Seth, to cman, to eenhoornheid. You guys were the best!

 

But why am I saying all this? It's not good-bye just yet. After all, there's still **** to do!

 

My next character will be a high elf researcher, which will tie in the two kinds of RP I've come to love most here - High Elven and Spectral RP. This will also be giving a much needed liaison between the CoS and the rest of the RPers out there - and yes, of course I will be continuing on with the CoS!

 

The Court of Souls is a great way to help new ghosty players to learn the ropes, to help keep ghosty RP on tracks while still giving them access to normal, conversational RP with other spectral RPers. And I'm not going to let it die.

 

I will continue to help administrate it OOCly. As you know, in RP, there is no one single leader, but is, rather, a direct democracy. But outside, well... There are apps to be accepted, recruiting to be done, and events/meetings to be arranged. And even if I can't participate in those meetings ICly any longer I will continue to arrange and organize them.

 

The coming character will be a sort of "quest-giver" for the CoS, asking intrepid adventurers and aimless wanderers all around to help him in his quest for knowledge - to capture and study ghosts, wherever and whenever they are.

 

So, without further ado...

A researcher of spectral-kind, and their origins, he strives to make sense of a common phenomena which leaves what appears to be a "soul" to mortal-kind. Of course, being a scientist, and a pure high elf of sound mind, no less, he cannot possibly believe it is truly a soul. Somewhat absent-minded, he has a tendency to forget simple things like spectacles and goggles at home. Help him in his quest or not... But who knows the rewards he'll have to those whom stick with him in the long run?

 

That'll be all for today, folks! Before I go, I will, again, reiterate: The Sentinel is NOT being PK'd. He was not demanifested, only left to go into hiding. Only shelved, for a time.))
