Red In The Wind

Atop the Peaks of Godfrey, a single man stands atop the summit, a long red cloak covering the entirety of his body, the symbol of a long forgotten order of a long destroyed city emblazoned upon it. A metallic sheen escapes the folds of the cloth, sunlight dances upon each individual finger that flexes outside the protection of the cloak. A stubble-covered chin juts out from a covered face, a cocky smile parts the man's lips as the sun continues to rise, illuminating the frost covered stones around him. A frigid wind whips around the man, snow and frost dance around him as he steps towards the sunrise, reaching into the folds of his cloak to unsheathe a short-sword bearing the Salvian cross. Raising the blade above his head he thrusts it into the frostbitten earth, it grudgingly accepts this gift, holding it in place. The man reveals yet another object from his cloak, a red jacket fit for a child. Tying it around the hilt, the jacket begins to flutter in the chilled wind. The man turns from the blade and descends the Peaks, disappearing in a gale of frost.

feel. Other times, it will send you to the deepest pits of the nether so that you have to pull yourself

out. But it doesn't do this to hurt you, to make you suffer. Life does this to make you stronger;

to make you believe in yourself to achieve a purpose in life, and everyone has one."

 

"Purpose is what sparks the flame within us all, human, dwarf, elf, halfling, kha, or orc.

It is the fuel, the drive, the thing that makes us alive. Some believe that once they have completed their

purpose, their life is over and they give up. That is wrong.

Purpose is something that is not given or earned.

Purpose is obtained. You have to want it. When you have your purpose, it sets you free."

 

"Throughout my trials of life, this has been drilled into me after every failure and every success.

I have suffered great loss and enjoyed great gains because of it.

Years of searching, watching, and waiting have enlightened me.

And now, all that culminates to this one point. 

I am immortal."

 

 

((I got bored and this is essentially what happened to one of my chars. I dunno what purpose he shall serve. He's not really immortal, just a figure of speech.))
